Team sources tell me that Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon is expected to warm up with about an hour left before tip-off and make his decision from there. It seems improbable, if not impossible, that he could compete in a high-level playoff game with such a serious injury, but team sources say the Nuggets went through a walk-through as a team yesterday with Gordon part of the game plan.

Gordon, meanwhile, has been telling people within the team since yesterday that he plans on giving it a go. We shall see.

  1. I love the toughness to try and play. Just really hope he doesn’t hurt himself more and hurt his athletic ability going forward.

  2. This is the kind of injury that if you play through it can affect the rest of your career. Better off just letting it heal.

  3. Don’t do this shit AG

I’ve seen guys try stuff like this before and it’s not worth it, best case scenario you make it back by the finals if the nuggets win and advance, don’t push it this could turn into something far worse

Hopefully the nuggets medical staff isn’t gonna let this man hurt himself further

  4. Love the toughness but it is malpractice if they let him play on a grade 2 strain

  5. Unless he is just standing in the corner to shoot threes all game, and I mean literally not moving, don’t play him

  6. I get Gordon really wants to play, as he should, but this would be a huge mistake. Aggravating a serious hamstring injury is the last thing you want to do. Grade 2 iirc is that same as Harden in 2021 and he was completely sapped of his athleticism and regressed from an MVP level guy to a high tier allstar in one off season.

  7. playing through this type of injury zapped all of james harden’s remaining quickness…. it’s not worth it..

  8. You’re better off sitting on the bench and praying your team makes the finals than trying to play through this. You’re just going to hurt the team and yourself by going out there.

  9. Every NBA players favorite role player is Aaron Gordon

I know the Nuggets Bench is bad and inconsistent but please don’t permanently damage your hammy like Harden did

  10. The team shouldn’t let him play. Sometimes, you have to protect your players from themselves.

  11. As a nuggets fan i dont want him to play, ill rather have couple more years of healthy AG than a chance to win this year. Even if he plays and we win what is stopping his hamstring to fully tear

  12. I totally get why he wants to play, and I respect that. But it’s not worth risking a more severe injury.

  13. This will seem like a worse idea when Lu Dort is rugby tackling him in 2 hours time

  14. Love the heart in this guy, but someone’s gotta be the brain. You don’t want him more seriously injured.

  15. Gonna be a repeat of OG last year.. he was basically speed walking up and down the court for a couple mins until they finally took him out.

  16. Obviously I’m a thunder fan saying this and I get it man, but how many times have we seen players play through similar injuries, fuck up their prime, then get traded away like trash? Shit ain’t worth it

  17. Just rest AG. You’ve done enough. You are already a nuggets legend.

It’s up to the rest of the guys to step up now.

  18. I feel like OG tried this last year and it didn’t work. Even when Willis Reed did this, he only scored like 4 points, Clyde is the one that went off

  19. It’s not worth it, even if they win he’ll have to sit out the Wolves series.

  20. AD tried this in 2021 with his groin against the Suns and it completely backfired. He wasn’t fully healthy until 2022/2023. Please do not do this AG. It’s not worth it

  21. He can play as long as he plans on shortening all his step, not jumping to his full potential, and not make sudden sharp cuts. Even then he will still wake up with a lot of pain and still risk further damage.

  22. I saw a grade 2 tear on hamstring and he is going to try to play? That feels impossible for both those things to be true.

  23. They have to be lying about the severity of this sprain because otherwise this is really irresponsible, no? Is it even physically possible?

Nuggets have to be playing mind games with OKC here
