But let’s get to this one. between the Athletics and the Los Angeles Angels. The Athletics sending out JP Sears for the start in this one while the Angels will send send out Jack Kahanowitz. And Kahanowitz is coming off probably the best start I would argue of his career or one of his best starts of his career and especially his best start of the season. Six and two/3s innings of one-run ball. Gave up five hits and gave up four walks, but five strikeouts against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a win for the Angels in that series. and don’t look now, but the Angels have been starting to string some wins together. Now, we’ll have to see how Tuesday’s matchup goes as the Athletics are trying to snap a six game skid, but you know, the Angels are playing some decent baseball. The problem for me though is that you look at their numbers in the last two weeks against left-handed pitching and it has not been something that you really want to look at. Um, the Angels have been dead last in in, you know, in Babip 162. Babip is almost 50 percentage points lower than the second worst team in baseball. They’re only hitting 170. This is across 60 plate appearances. Um, you know, 170 batting average. The team OPS numbers are just outside the bottom five. The isolated power numbers are pretty good for what like for for the sample size, but you know, there’s really not much else to like here. It’s just telling me that there’s few balls that they’ve put in play and the ones they have put in play, there’s been a couple that have, you know, that they’ve turned on for uh for some home runs. I mean, they’ve got they’ve gone nine of 53 for uh for the the last two weeks. Five of them have gone for extra bases. So, it feels like it’s all or nothing for uh for the Angels in terms of hitting against lefties as of late. And in that minor league ball in Sacramento, maybe they have some success. But JP Sears has still been pitching extremely well at home in Sacramento. He’s gone about five innings in each of his last two starts. One run against the Yankees he gave up. Two runs against the Texas Rangers. And I think he can have another solid start here. The the Angels are a team that he has had success against in the past. His last five starts against the Angels, a sub4 erra, 21 strikeouts to just seven walks, a 3-2 record, and a 3-0 record in home starts in those in those games. Now granted, again, three of those three games came in Oakland, but I still think that the Athletics are the better team here. I think they can get to Kahanaitz, and I just think that the Angels probably struggle here getting to Sears. So, I’m going to roll with the Athletics in this one, and that’s going to be my free pick.
