The Arizona Cardinals Have One (Big Problem)

The Arizona Cardinals finished the 2024 season with an 8-9 record and missed the playoffs for the third straight year. It was an unfortunate end of the year for the Cardinals as they entered their week 11 buy with a 6 and4 record and were in a prime position to secure the NFC West. They had four division games in their final seven, including facing Seattle twice in their first three games off the buy. But unfortunately, they would go just two and five in the final seven games with the only wins over the Patriots who eventually fired head coach Gerard Mayo, the 49ers in week 18 who started Josh Dobs. And the biggest thing is I am a firm believer that the Cardinals have done a lot of things right over the past few years like drafting Paris Johnson and BJ O Gelari and Marvin Harrison Jr. and even signing Josh Swed in free agency. But the biggest problem I think the Cardinals have is the inconsistencies of quarterback Kyler Murray. Kyler had 21 passing touchdowns in 2024 and through seven combined in two of the 17 games he played. He had a 14game span between weeks 3 through 17 where he had just 13 passing touchdowns to 11 interceptions and is not a consistent player week in and week out. And do in large part to this along with offensive coordinator Drew Petting, these are the reasons why I can’t fully buy in with the Arizona Cardinals.
