Indianapolis Colts Owner Jim Irsay Passes Away at 65 Years Old
Hello, Locked On Colts Everydays. It is Zach Hicks, one of your co-hosts here on the Locked On Colts podcast. And unfortunately, we are jumping on today real quick to talk about the passing of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Ers at 65 years old. The Colts released a statement here on Wednesday afternoon saying that uh Jim Ersce unfortunately passed away in his sleep. Um just uh horrible news, unfortunate news to to hear about uh Ers. and and obviously thoughts go out to the ERS family, Carly and and Kayn and and and everyone involved obviously in Jim’s life. Uh Jim obviously was a fixture here in Indianapolis for decades. Him and the Ursay family obviously have been big part of just the culture in Indianapolis for a long time. and and Jim’s had his handprints all over uh this Colts team for as long as I’ve been alive, you know, since the ‘9s from when he was a general manager to uh you know, taking that step back and letting Polon and and uh Tony Dunie do their thing with the Pton Manning years and and then you know passing the reigns over to Chris Ballard obviously uh like 10 years ago. So Jim Ers will be missed. a very fun, energetic, loving guy by all accounts. And uh yeah, I it’s a very unfortunate thing, you know, when something like this happens. You know, obviously ERS has been dealing with the health issues for the past couple years. Uh had that major health scare last year that led to him taking a step back from public appearances and then it culminates in the news today that that he has unfortunately passed away at the age of 65. So again, all of our thoughts are out there to the Urs family and all of you Indianapolis Colts fans who have grown up uh you know following the the Colts and Jim Ers and obviously you know Ers’s been a big part of the Colts community and the Indianapolis community. So for all of you people who have met Jim and and spent time with him over the years, please share in the comments below um your favorite memory about him and and uh what you loved about the man. But very unfortunate news. It’s a horrible thing that we have to update you guys on this here at the Lockdown Colts podcast. And uh again, all of our thoughts go out there to the ERS family in this tough time. Uh we will definitely do more of like a longer segment on this when Jake is is around and able to uh comment because Jake has more of a you know more of a personal relationship with the Colts and and with obviously with everything involved with the team than I do being out there in Indianapolis. So, uh, we will properly articulate our thoughts and feelings on this in more of a full episode format, but, uh, this is more of just the the quick update for you guys who missed the news. And, uh, yeah, tough news to to, you know, be up for here in the afternoon or in the evening here, uh, on Wednesday in May. So, uh, Jim Merce passed away at 65 years old. Uh, again, we’ll have more on that here on the Lockdown Colts podcast here uh, later this week.

Sad
This sucks Colts Nation, I'm hoping these boys have one hell of a season for Jim
Brave man that stood up against the discrimination against billionaires and he did a line off a thai lady boys member 1 time.
Thank you mr irsay for the signing of my 23 year old limited edition colts football. And the 100 dollar handshake at training camp 2 years ago. Rip boss man
When the Colts were in camp here in Anderson, he always was out there and chatting it up with the fans. He was as much a fan as he was an owner. Condolences to the family, the organization, and the fans. Rest easy, Jim. 🙏🏻💙
R.i.P Mr.irsay 💙
We lost a good man today 😢😢
R.I.P Jim all the best to your family during this time.
He’s why Rush Limbaugh wasn’t allowed to become an NFL owner
Damn I wish he could’ve seen the boys win one more. Wonder what this season will bring it just won’t be the same…
Rip Jim, thank you for the memories
RIP win 🏆 for Mr.Irsay
RIP and my thoughts and prayers to the Irsay family. Respectfully
R.I.P Jim Irsay
R.I.P boss. Alot of people may have talked trash about his personal life, but his genuine sense of optimism and his love for this game and this team is something I never took for granted. You'll be missed.
Rip Jim Irsey
RIP to an Indy Legend. Brother
Wow.. Shocking. Us Redskin fans will forever be in debt to Irsay as he was the one who got the ball rolling with ousting Dan Snyder. RIP. Very sad news…
