[Royals Data Dugout] “Kansas City’s Productivity Based on Pitch Type”

We appear to be getting our asses kicked at an organizational level by changeups. Vinnie and Salvy specifically are struggling mightily, which might partially explain why their run production has fallen so much this year. Those two in particular are our power hitters, and we need them to be teeing off on the slow stuff for RBIs.
To someone more observant and better at baseball than me (low bar): what’s going on there? Are they just not swinging at them? Are they getting tricked and swinging too early thinking they’re getting a fastball? Are we just facing really, really good pitching that just so happens to use changeups effectively? I’m going to spend more time watching those two’s ABs.
