Richard Jefferson says SGA told him that no one cared when he was taking 11 free throws per game on a 10th seed, but now that he’s taking 9 a game and sending everyone’s favorite player home, people suddenly care

  1. I don’t like foul baiting (granted honeslty what Shai does with his off arm bothers me way more then his supposed flopping, but that’s not just him), but I think what I hate even more is how some people just pick and chose when they are bother by it

  2. Cool. I know wolves fans that have been complaining about his flopping for years

  3. Ya because being 10th seed doesn’t affect anyone else but when you’re the championship favorite it affects literally everything.

Of course no one gives a shit if you’re losing lmao what brain dead analysis is this

  4. I think what SGA is saying is to keep the same energy regardless of seeding position

Can’t say I fully blame him but this is the WCF. More people watching=more scrutiny

  5. It’s not the number. It’s HOW he’s getting to the line. Anyone that argues using strictly the FTA numbers is being disingenuous.

  6. Damn! Did Big Perk’s wife throw him in detention?!?!

SGA isn’t even top 10 in FTA per game for MVPs in the last 20 years.

    People hate greatness.

  7. Always hated it, just didn’t have to complain because they never made it deep into the playoffs, it only matters now. Shai is soft as fuck, fight through the contact like a man. People love ant for a reason, he is the opposite of Shai

  8. Yes. People are watching him more closely now and at greater numbers. This isn’t rocket science.

  9. am I supposed to find that weird or what? like obviously people care more about you when you are actually competing for something instead of being in lotery

  10. Tbf back when he was getting 11 a game Joel Embiid was getting 12. And Joel is WAY easier to hate than SGA

  11. Refs need to stop enabling this bullshit tbh… Can’t really blame a player for being effective within the rules. It’s on the refs to either stop calling ticky tack BS for him that they don’t call for others or hit him with a flopping penalty when it applies.

  12. Is it really that hard to believe that so much fewer people watched the games until now? Like, OKC fans would have never said anything and it really barely impacts teams overall during the regular season to lose a game to BS.

But it’s different now with all eyes on you.

Funny enough – I honestly thought we all hated this already.

  13. He flops on half the fouls. That’s why I care.

Same as Harden drawing contact, they had to change the rules. The flopping rules were added but are not enforced. Start enforcing them!

  14. I don’t like it but SGA isn’t the one calling the fouls. Refs need to get better at their job. They already take a review break every 87 game seconds anyway, go review the damn foul.

What is SGA supposed to do, turn down free points?

  15. It’s not about the number. Only the idiots that are bandwagoning OKC/SGA right now are the ones that keeping talking about the number of free throws. That’s not the criticism. The criticism is the fouls themselves. Go back and watch game one of the Warriors v Rockets series and watch Dillion Brooks literally WWE Edge spear Curry while shooting a three…no call. A light breeze from an opposing players movement will give SGA a foul. This is literally James Harden 2.0, something the league claimed they were cracking down on, but for whatever reason the league this season REALLY wants SGA/OKC to be heavily promoted.

  16. No one was watching him back then. Now we all have the misfortune of watching his anti-basketball BS while his team is allowed to play bully ball on defense.

It’s not entertaining, and it’s imbalanced competitively.

  17. It’s the way he does it. No one would be complaining if he legit got beat up to earn those free throws. No one has ever liked flopping.

  18. “No one cared when I was irrelevant.” Yeah… That’s what irrelevant means.

  19. Yes, no one cares what an irrelevant team no one watched did. Glad we cracked that one

  20. That’s also not true though. A lot of people have been complaining about SGA’s FT merchant behavior for the entire season, and even years.

Now he’s just got the public scrutiny to where those comments can’t be ignored as a loud minority

  21. So his defense is that he’s been a free throw merchant all along and it’s on us for only noticing now?
