Team Defensive Runs Saved. Guards were 2nd last year, currently they sit 22nd. The OF defense in particular has been awful. To make matters worse, their team wRC+ is also worse so far (20th currently vs. 17th last year)

I’m not an expert, but giving up more runs on errors while scoring less runs on offense doesn’t equal a good recipe for winning baseball games

Its honestly a miracle sometimes that they have the record they do. To piggy back on these poor defensive stats, some key offensive stats were terrible as well. These were when I looked a few days ago.
BA: 25th out of 32.
XBA: 30th out of 32.
Barrel %: 26th out of 32
Hard hit rate: 32nd out of 32. Dead freaking last.
Exit velocity: 30th out of 32
Chase rate %: 28th out of 32.
4th highest pull rate.
Dead last in going opposite field.
2nd highest weak contact % in baseball
Also on pace for 182 less at bats with runner in scoring position lol. Just yikes.
And Lane’s been back 1 day and already made 2 flubs in the OF. Penciling in Lane in CF is as psychotic as penciling in Amed Rosario at SS. There’s no justifiable reason for it other than “vibes” or something. Angel should be in CF, Lane in RF (when he’s not DH’ing, which should be often). His defensive metrics are bottom 5 in all of baseball. Can we please acknowledge this?
