“It’s such a huge shift in how football has ever been approached. It forced me to reassess how I approach defense because I was classically taught in this game, ‘You better stop the run first.’ It’s been an evolution for me in the last 10 years. Do I want to stop the run? Of course I do. But I would say my focus is primarily to stop the pass.”

Ben Johnson On Passing Game EPA:
“The way I understand it right now from our analytics team, the EPA in the passing game is really one of the most critical factors in determining wins and losses right now… Whatever team has the higher passing game EPA at the end of the game, they generally win that game over 80 percent of the time.”

  22. The Falcons have Lacale London at 330lbs , if they won't to stop the run. Also some of these guys will get cut throughout preseason. If they want to add some girth. I think the defense will be verastile and look to shut down the run and play solid on the backend.

  23. The broncos were small upfront and had the #1 Defense. Look at their 2024 depth chart, and they were just fine stopping the run also
