Cleveland Browns Trade Targets Ft. A Former 1st Round Pick And An All-Pro
[Music] Before we begin today’s episode, I just wanted to update everyone on the future of my status at Chat Sports and on the Browns report. So, I announced last week that I would be leaving Chat Sports on Friday, May 23rd. And then I met with my bosses over this past weekend and they proposed that when I come back from my honeymoon in the middle of June, if I would stay on in a kind of part-timeish role where I wouldn’t come into the office anymore, but I would film videos on the Browns on the channel from my house. And I felt like that was a nice win-winwin for a lot of parties. you know, they continue to get coverage for the team while they look for a long-term replacement for me. I continue to hang out with you guys. And I mean, the comments you guys have left over the last couple of days, I see them all and they mean so much to me. So, I know I kind of like pulled the rug out from underneath everyone when I said Friday, May 23rd, my last day. And then it kind of was because I’m not coming back to the office anymore. I they de deactivated my key card, so I couldn’t if I wanted to. But I’m still going to put some content out on the channel for only about a month from June to mid July while they search for a long-term replacement so I can help bridge the gap. And that way I don’t leave them high and dry. I don’t leave you guys high and dry with no content whatsoever in that span. So you’ll see me more in my kitchen when I come back from my honeymoon. But there’ll be some other chat sports hosts filling in on the channel while I’m away altogether. Now, let’s get into the show. Sorry for all that. The first trade target that I want to look at for the Browns is Maris Hollywood Brown. So, we’re talking trade targets today for a few reasons. One, it’s slowest part part of the off season. Everyone’s always interested in trades. And two, we’re talking about Andrew Barry who is addicted to trades. So, yeah, I always feel like he’s going to try and scratch that itch, and it seemed like a good time to just check out some players that Barry could have his eye on, including the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver. Now, I came across this Pro Football Network article that talked about Hollywood Brown potentially being moved, and I won’t read it to you verbatim, but we can throw it on screen read kind of check it out for themselves. But there’s, you know, some, I would say evidence, but some reason to believe that Kansas City could have interest in trading Brown away. Um, he’s likely the number four target right now anyway with Rice Worthy and Travis Kelce ahead of him, I guess. So, I I think uh Worthy is behind Hollywood Brown. And I feel like the Chiefs actually had a whole design for Hollywood Brown going into 2024 and then he got injured in the preseason and they had to adjust and that’s why their offense really wasn’t all that impressive for, you know, much of 2024 despite Mahomes being the quarterback. I don’t think the Chiefs are actually going to deal Hollywood Brown, but if they are listening to offers, he screams Andrew Barry, does he not? A former first round pick. Definitely fits the type for AB. Andrew Barry also just loves trading for wide receivers. We’ll refresh your memory on that in a little bit. But this does seem like a prototypical speedy young receiver that Barry would fall in love with. That’s the profile that Barry pursues in wide receivers. And Brown last year only played two games coming back from that injury he sustained in the preseason. But you can look back at his time in Baltimore and then Arizona where the lack of availability is, you know, frustrating for sure when it comes to fantasy owners and Brown himself. But I mean, seems like something that if the offer is low enough, Barry looks at his wide receiver room and go Hollywood Brown, Michael Woods. Oh, tough call here. Now, the previous off seasonasons when he’s made more trades, it was because he was trying to maximize that year’s roster, right? A win now type move. This is no longer a roster where you feel like you can win now. So, giving up draft capital wouldn’t make a ton of sense for a team. But Andrew Barry, I don’t think really believes the Browns are as bad as we all believe they are given their three- win season a year ago. And I could see him kicking the tires on a wide receiver trade given that they did not address it in the draft. And the only thing they’ve done in free agency really was DeAndre Carter, a special teams guy, and Deontay Johnson, who I don’t even think is going to make the 53man roster. So, let me know if you would trade for the Ravens former first round pick. Give me a yes or give me a no down below in the comments section. Really appreciate everyone who interacts down below. Now, let’s move on to the next trade target. I’m going to look at quarterback Don Bland from the Dallas Cowboys. Now, Cowboys fans watching right now are probably not excited to see Bland available, and I’m not even convinced that he is available. But knowing how the Cowboys operate, Jerry Jones does not like to shell out the big bucks. He’s already made Dak Prescott the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. CD Lamb’s got a big contract, too. And Micah Parsons is next up. So, is there a chance the Cowboys look at Bland and say, “Hey, you’re going into a contract year. You’re coming off a season where a foot injury caused you to miss nearly half the season, over half the season. Now is not a bad time for us to sell high. we’ve already kind of taken your replacement. I mean, the Cowboys in day two of the draft last year, oh, sorry, last a this past April, selected Siobhan Revel out of East Carolina. And so now I’m thinking this could be an opportunity for Barry to stock up at a cornerstone position, which he loves to do, right? Again, I don’t think that Bland is blatantly available for a trade. Maybe like Trey Hendrickson or Gier Alexander is, but with the addition of Revel and Ky Elum and him being in a contract year, if they feel that we’re not going to be able to resign him and the Browns are giving us a good offer, I could even see the Browns swapping Bland for Newsome. Cowboys get a not younger, but I won’t even say healthier. Maybe both teams feel like, hey, for Bland and a draft pick, we’ll take Newsome so we don’t skip a beat at corner and we’re no longer on the hook for paying Bland a big second contract. And Andrew Barry, he loves trading for wide receivers, but he loves depth at corner. He does. He drafted Martin Emerson when no one really saw that coming. He took Greg Newsome in round one. I would say no one saw that coming, but kind of no one saw that coming. He took Greedy Williams in round two. Like he loves to replenish at that spot. And with two of his three starting corners playing in a contract season, land could make some sense for them. All right, before we look at the other two trade targets, if you would like to get a Mason Graham jersey, a Shador Sanders jersey, a Quinn Sean Judkins jersey, any other Browns rookie jersey, go to chatsports.com/le rookies. I put this link in the comments and description of today’s video. It’s a great way to one, support the channel, and two, get yourself a brand new Browns jersey from Fanatics. Third trade target I want to throw your way. What about AJ Epanza from the Buffalo Bills? The edge rusher. Second round pick by Buffalo a few years ago out of Iowa. Last season he really started to break out as a more perennial force on that Buffalo pass rush. He started 13 games. you know, the previous four seasons, uh, he only started a combined like three or four games. Now, he’s a sturdy run stopper who flashes some positive pass rush potential. I tossed him in here for mainly one reason. He plays edge. We didn’t see the Browns trading for Darius Smith really, right? That was not at the front of anyone’s radar. They had signed Okarano already in free agency. So now I look at what the Browns have done so far in free agency. They haven’t added a pass rusher. Not that they need to add one, but they didn’t draft one really either. So I guess you can count Tyrone Shyena, but I just think Andrew Barry has shown that he will never say no to loading up at cornerstone positions. So, if AJ’s available since Buffalo just drafted Landon Jackson out of Arkansas and it’s not going to cost Barry too much and he still feels like, hey, I’ve got a roster that can go out and compete and win right now, which you may not agree with that assessment, but I wouldn’t rule Andrew Barry out for having that idea in his mind. This would kind of fit the mold of what Barry could do. Fourth and final one, how about Romeo Dobs, the wide receiver from the Green Bay Packers? Not as big of a name as the first three guys, but I’m gonna include him in there because of a few things. One, he’s fast. Ran a under a four, five, 40 yard dash at his pro day a few years ago coming out of Nevada. Another reason why I’m going to include him is I could see a lot of motivation from Green Bay side. They took Matthew Golden, the Texas wide receiver, in round one. And Dobs, I don’t think, is really finding a long-term home in the Frozen Tundra. Last year, he bitched about not getting enough targets. So, he didn’t show up to practice. So, he got suspended for a game. That might sound like a red flag to you. To Andrew Barry, that probably sounds like a green light because it means that someone could be available. And how often does Barry take players who have questionable character backgrounds and concerns because he doesn’t care about that? He cares about the talent, the production on the field. And got 15 touchdowns as a former fourth fourth round pick through three seasons. Not bad. He’s only behind some guys like Stefon Diggs, a few other day three receivers in that time span. This just does seem to be a Andrew Barry type move of, hey, I’m kind of short-handed at at wide receiver. I’m not going to swing for an expensive acquisition like Hollywood Brown, but I’ll take Dobs from Green Bay. All right, let’s pick a card to wrap it all up. Reed, which card are you thinking? Give me 10 of diamonds. 10 of diamonds. I’ll say 10 of spades. Meet you in the 10 club. It is a 10. It’s 10 of hearts. I was I was literally going to say 10 of hearts. I was going to say 10 of hearts. You got to be kidding me. You know what that’s like? Whoa, that’s weird. Sorry about that. Green screen did not like me leaving. That is like the UCF Duke ending in the Elite 8 with Taco Fall when they had two great putback opportunity. We both just miss right there. Right. That that still gives me chills thinking of how close they were to knocking off Zion. Was it lead eight? I think it was lead eight. So that will do it for us on today’s show. I’ll see everyone later. Would you trade for Hollywood Brown? Yes or No
ProFootballNetwork On Hollywood Brown trade rumors:
“Hollywood Brown was our main pre-draft trade candidate for the Kansas City Chiefs. There’s no reason to move off that stance after the defending AFC champs picked Jalen Royals, a true X receiver who could displace Brown. There’s a scenario where Royals adds a vertical contested catch element that Brown can’t replicate, squeezing Hollywood out of the rotation yet again. He’s likely the No. 4 target right now anyway with Rice, Worthy, and Travis Kelce ahead of Brown in the pecking order. If Royals flashes with his camp and preseason reps, Brown could easily be on the move.”

Lol if you don't hurry up and leave already 😂. No we hate to see you go! But go live your life! Much love and congratulations on marriage
I am hoping we see a lot of two tight end packages with triple option plays. With Chief and Fannin, that will be a matchup nightmare.
I like seeing you Matthew
I Am going to miss you Matthew
Hell yeah. Bro. You are so awesome, and we are blessed to have you.
Happy to still have you around. Go Browns!!
Speak for yourself. The browns roster and prospects are the best going into a season as they have been since the 2021 season.
Why would the browns trade for a player in a contract year that could demand a new contract the browns can’t pay? Trade for a 1 year rental at cb when you think the team is not in position to win now? What sense does that make?
Petey we are going to miss you. Can never replace you. Good luck and God bless
How do you apply?
We need receivers
Happy we will still be hearing from you. Have a great honeymoon and have fun
Dorsey took Greedy
It hurts😢

Jalen Royals is going to be above Hollywood
Barry didn't draft Greedy Williams.
“N”, injury prone!
Hey petey, i dont expect you to change this for just one viewer, but the greenscreen really helps me. It is one of the 3 reasons i watch this channel.
1. Im a browns fan
2. You, your a great host
3. The greenscreen. I think the greenscreen adds a good depth that helps me understand more if what is happening.
I’d take Doubs first before Brown.
They should take Doubs
👀 Petey? How dare you talk about trading Newsome! Don’t you know how upset you just made the casuals 😏
