How Tyler Phillips Is Adapting to His New Role in Miami #marlins #tylerphillips #claytonmccullough
I know from this team like especially the relievers like you guys don’t really have any set roles. What has Clayton explained in terms of why he takes that approach and I mean how has that been for you adjusting to that? Yeah. Um from my understanding like the conversations we’ve had in the bullpen. Uh the starters obviously going to do their job. They’re going to try to get through through five maybe six. Um and at that point like that they what I’ve heard was that anything after the fifth inning is a high leverage situation. Okay. So, I think if it’s like a one-run game, they’re going to go to your more experienced reliever like a Bender or Proche or Tinoco. Uh, then you got the rest of us who can go multiple innings. Um, but yeah, I mean, honestly, it’s just been answer the call, you know? Uh, whenever whenever your name’s called, whether it’s the the third or the or the eighth or the ninth inning, I mean, my first week I pitched in ninth and tth inning, and that’s my first time as a reliever in the big leagues, I was like, okay. So, like that’s what I’m saying. It’s just time to answer the call, get fired up. Yeah.
