Flag Football Star Who Claims Higher IQ Than Mahomes Doesn’t Want NFL Players in Olympics

In his defense that’s pretty smart
Based on the people Mahomes surrounds himself with, there are a LOT of people with a higher IQ than him.
What a horribly written article
First off, this isn’t a meme.
Secondly, I can’t argue with this guy’s logic. He’s concerned simply because the flag football guy’s have worked hard to get the sport to where it is now, and he doesn’t want to see them get pushed to the side in favor of NFL players *just* because they’re NFL players.
NFL vs flag football skills challenge. Who gives a fuck what all these flag football guys say I want to see them walk the walk.
Besides the fact he wants a Gold, Here’s why I think he thinks he’s the best and NFL players won’t translate that great
In 2018 he won Game MVP when his team beat Team Godspeed in the championship 26-6
Team Godspeed was featuring
Seneca Wallace, Justin Forsett, Jahvid Best Jason Avant, Jacoby Jones.
Also there’s no way an NFL QB would translate well, someone like Mahomes or Lamar only has 7 seconds from snap to throw or get past the LOS
Impossible
And Derek Henry couldn’t Stiff arm, legitimately it’s called flag guarding, Justin Forsett got called for it in that game.
I think having NFL players play football in the olympics is obnoxious and its just something to feed their egos. “Finally got my gold medal.. playing against amateurs from India”…
flag football with nfl players would be the most lopsided competition ever. like, who wants to see team usa full of nfl all-pros against team mexico filled with bus drivers, plumbers and fast food workers??
All it takes is one injury to an NFL star, and the Olympics turns into the Pro Bowl
Going with the hater take here and sorry pal but best people will play. If he thinks he’s better than lamar jackson I would love to see it. Maybe he works his way into the NFL with a good olympics.
I get it, whoever governs flag football internationally should do the same thing as FIBA (basketball). If you want to represent your 3v3 team you need to play in the 3v3 world league (or something like that). It eliminates NBA and other pro players because they have their team/league schedule and thus cannot compete.
This feels like it’s the right material to make a South Park episode around it
I don’t care who started or built the sport. I want our team to be the best possible players available. If that means bringing in nfl players so be it. In a world clsss competition the opponent doesn’t care what your iq is or your resume. You just have to perform at the highest level in the world.
I feel this is like a situation where F1 driver wants to drive WRC Rally. Yes, you are great driver overall, but there are these things that you might not get if you are a fulltime pro in this thing.
America: *wants gold medals*
America: *adds Olympic sports only America will win*
Honestly no matter who built it, it always comes down to money. Who do I want to see, Lamar Jackson or this dude? Who’s gonna put butts in the seats and eyes on the screens? Exactly.
My take here is in soft agreement. My opinion is informed by how I feel about hockey and basketball stars in those sports.
The olympics is traditionally about *amateur* athletes. Every Winter Olympics I read stories about the single mom of two working weird jobs that allow her to train in the bobsled or whatever sport.
Then some $8M/year NHL star takes 3 weeks off work to play hockey against a mix of Bosnian plumbers and German, Finn, etc NHL stars.
Show me the best amateur talent in the world. People who grind to be the best in the world without the benefit of 10s of millions of dollars per year, the best trainers/therapists/nutritionists out there.
If anything, I respect the silver medal won by the divorced Turkish dad at pistol shooting more than I would ever respect Travis Kelce holding a gold medal he didn’t truly have to work for.
“flag football star”
My concern is we field stars who don’t have experience with the rules and play patterns of the flag football meta.
