Who are your top 5 players you’d like to see CBJ get this off-season via trade/free agent signing/offer sheet? (realistic options)

  1. Aquisitions:

    Marner

    Ristolainen

    Gavrikov

    Connor Murphy

    Boesser

    Retaining our FAs:

    Fabbro

    JVR

    Danforth

Pipe dream, no way he’s traded, but would be perfect:

    McAvoy

  2. Mitch Marner, I think it is very realistic and I’m not gonna turn my nose up at him. Beggars can’t be choosers and we are beggars.
Adam Larsson, defensive RHD I think he would be perfect for what we need.
Pius Suter, I love his game. Strong defensively, 20/20 guy, he can play all over the place.
Jake Allen, short term contract and he would be great to settle Jet in as a starter.
I know you asked for five but I really don’t think there is another that I would really want. I guess it would be something internal. Like resign Fabbro and Danforth. Bring up Svozil to be 3rd pair LHD.

  3. Acquisitions:
    Marner
    Ekblad
    Ehlers
    Boeser

    Keep:
    Provorov
    Danny
    JVR
    Fabro

  4. I’d really like to see us pick up some defensive minded character guys. Any time we can pick up size is great, and we struggled with goals against this past season. Others have pointed out some great players like Marner, Dahlin, and Gavrikov. If they can make a team-friendly deal with Provorov I’d be down for that, too.

  5. Acquisition: Marner, Ehlers, Bennet, Boeser. Probably in that order.

Offer sheets: Knies. Basically impossible because we don’t have our 2nd and he wants to stay in Toronto. It would be cool, though.

People keep mentioning McAvoy. No way that happens but gosh darn it, that would be legendary.

  6. Hronek if he’s available as is rumored, would be perfect for us imo. Kesselring from utah would be a good fit too I think.

People are talking about McAvoy on here sometimes, he would be sick, just depends on what Boston is doing. Are they blowing it up? Or running it back?

  7. Everyone is obsessed with Marner and I get it, great player who we tried to go after in the past. But I wouldn’t touch him a ten foot pool. We don’t need another small winger on this team.

If we really want to eventually compete with teams like Carolina and Florida we need to get bigger. I’d go all in and sign Matthew Knies to a $9.75M over 7 years contract and give the Leafs two firsts in the process.

Mathew is 6 foot 3 220 lbs and went 29 and 29 for 58 as a 22 year old. I’d much rather lock up the young stud 22 year old than the 28 year old who at some point will have diminishing returns.

A top line of Johnson, Fantilli, Knies would have all the size and skill we need to make a push.

  8. I think there’s a much better chance that Marner would do a sign and trade with Toronto rather than just leaving in free agency. He gets an extra year of guaranteed money, and the Leafs get much needed picks.

  9. Noah Dobson and Nikolaj Ehlers. Dobson pairs with Z on the top pair, Ehlers plays LW on the Monny Marchenko line.

Under no circumstances do you go after Mitch Marner. He will not fit in the Evason system. We already have a non-physical, skill-based wing in Johnson. Marner will also ask for around an 8x14mil contract, and while we have albatrosses already like Elvis and Severson, we can’t afford to take a risk on an unproven playoff performer.

  10. I’m no to Proverov. The’s a tweener—not gifted offensively. Not a shut down defenseman. Not particularly tough. He’s
Going to want to much money for too long for a meh defenseman.
    I know it’s a
Dream, but Dahlin is the guy i want on our blue line.

  11. 1. Matthew Knies
    2. Byrum
    3. Eckblad
    4. Marner
    5. Brayden Schneider (a girl can dream)

  12. 1. mitch marner
    2. michael kesselring
    3. vlad gavrikov
    4. maverik bourque
    5. jake allen

honorable mentions: gus nyquist, ross colton, haydn fleury
