He was damn near invisible. Glad we didn’t grab him.
Also, fuck the Avs.
I’m glad this didn’t happen.
I remember this being reported after the deadline as well. Weird a guy from Minnesota would block a trade here.
Eh, avs overpaid for a 1st round exit. It is what it is.
No, but it’s disappointing to hear about another player that we couldn’t get simply because we’re Winnipeg.
Although to be fair, it sounds like us and another team had a deal ready to go. But when Nelson heard Colorado was in the mix he only waived his NTC for them to essentially force NYI to make a deal with the Avs.
Colorado saved Chevy from Kevin Hayes 2.0, the invisible man.
He did us a favor.
Considering he was invisible in the playoffs, consider that a bullet dodged.
Chevy truly has the hardest GM job. I guess this is why the Jets org is a massive step above other teams treating its players well. Other clubs like Vegas can do whatever and people will flock there.
I wonder how many of these rich former althletes are sitting comfortably in retirement regretting they didn’t take the chance to play for great team in a “less desirable” place for a chance to win the cup.
I am willing to bet it’s higher than people think….
Our 1st round pick hype!
Thank god 🙏🏼
No one, other than Paul, has made a difference at the trade deadline. I’d rather bring up our draft picks and give them a hard run at the show and see what they can do.
He refused to go to any Canadian team. Trump supporter. F’em!!
It’s so annoying that you have a league that allows players not to play in a city. Aside from having a personal issue with a city, if they are paying you millions of dollars and a city is a contender, why can 40% of the players say no and make it so there’s never “Rantanen the Jet”. I wish there was a fantasy machine that could show you what things would look like if players had to play where they were traded to
Not worth the haul the Avs paid for him. For as much shit as some gave Vlad, he actually produced better than Nelson did in the playoffs, jets do need an upgrade there though, no denying that.
YOURE FROM MINNESOTA AND PLAYED AT UND BROCK???????? AND YOU HAVE A NOMOVE HERE?
It’s crazy because once you come here, most love their time and want to stay. You would think that would play more into a players decision knowing they are going to a great org and fan base.
I’m kind of glad that didn’t happen.
i guess this is why he doenst make moves just to make moves. they have to move the needle or be a depth move (Tanev, Schenn). We have had moves in the past with Stastny and taffoli but you take a chance.
Any idea on what the deal was? A 1st and…
Idiot. Who turns down the opportunity to play on the team with the best record in the league, a well-regarded cup contender? Because the WiFi sucks?
Bullet dodged
Obviously he didn’t do much with the Avs. But everyone saying they’re glad we didn’t land him because of this is just… Different coach, different systems, different linemates. There’s no real way to say he would have also been invisible with the Jets.
As a Jet fan that isn’t in Winnipeg, but in another Canadian market where it’s been tough.
No one has a tougher job in this league than Chevy, and wouldn’t trust or expect anyone else to get that situation.
Credit ownership as well.
I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but Blake Wheeler had a glowing review of the city and the org earlier today on the FAN Hockey Show, check it out
👀
That’s the reality of having a team in Winnipeg. If we get far into the playoffs and players start seeing the Jets as a serious Stanley Cup contender, then it doesn’t matter where the location is, you’re gonna have a lot of people interested in playing here. But for now we just have to deal with the fact Winnipeg remains high on the no trade list
