NHL Game 5 Highlights | Oilers vs. Stars – May 29, 2025
Back to back in Edmonton, the Oilers in LA and Vegas on the road. Can they do it again here tonight against Dallas? Here comes McDavid into the zone. Rice’s got two first goals in this series. Evan Buchard has one. It’ll come right in front. Scores Cory Perry from Conor McDavid and they strike first again. Kevin was talking about 40 years old. It’s the speed of McDavid now gets you chasing a little bit. Watch the separation of the penalty pillars. Three over on one side, a quick pass and just right on the doorstep. This play by Perry. He’s done so many times during his career. Track the puck, get to the net, stick on the ice, but up and over the arm. Liddell up ahead. Wyatt Johnson back in over the line. Here’s Johnson and stopped and into the glove of Steuart Skinner. Come ready to play yet again. Scoring the first goal and taking a lot of that energy out of doubt. There’s a chance for Robertson off the draw to Walker save by Skinner and Captain A working just off target and off Robertson and back into the Oiler zone. Edmonton scoring on their first shot. The chance here and scores. What a feed from Victor Arbitson and Edmonton has a two nothing lead. Watch Wman the hard pass. Two guys go over to Arbertson and coming off the bench is Yanmar. Just an excellent job of driving right down the middle. That’s an 8second shift that ends up in the back of the Dallas net. It just has been a bit of a disaster for game five couldn’t be a worse start. And now you see Casey to Smith. Two goals, two shots, and there’s Henrik on the draw. Skinner will swing it on goal. Smith turns that aside up to Colin Blackwell. The flip that comes down just inside the Edmonton line. Up ahead for Frederick. He’ll set it in here from Arinson and Walden. 709 final. The second goal. [Applause] about energy left. The chance in front pass knocked away by Smith scores. They’ve got another and it’s Jeff Skinner with his first Stanley Cup playoff goal. Could possibly go wrong more. Another sloppy play, a one battle. Skinner gets it to the front of the net. Look at all the green jerseys standing around. Not one has their eye on the puck. Not one stick close to it. Three wax added here. Frederick keeps it alive a second time. Henrik tries and then losing Zack Hman for the rest of these playoffs. Now the panel is talking about that as well. Davis testing to Smith and he’ll hold on to that. You think Dallas can’t afford to give up anymore. There’s a chance on a quick back hand by Steel and picking it up as Xavander Kane for Kent. will bounce it down off to Smith. Shears down the side and Thomas Harley takes over. Mason Marchman to work over the line with Sean and March to the left side off the glo who gets pulled over there. Play and then a follow up. It’s been the story of this Edmonton Oiler team playoffs secondary story. There’s a turnover. Jason Robertson [Music] Dallas coming up. Got his head up the whole way and it just hits Johnson and then Johnson with a great little tip and Jason Robertson has gone 10 games without a goal. Well, that’s three goals in the last three games. He’s been the only Dallas star to light the lane. And now Johnston with his Johnson curls back. He’s got the clearly the big stop. Mark that one for Steuart Skinner. Here’s Bryce swinging in. Back it goes to Kak. Good stop by to Smith on capital on the redirect. I think we’re like the guys on the panel wondering who would bring them out for the second period, but it is to Smith who made six stops on the seven shots he faced. There’s Frederick and inflict his dry saddle along with Kane. Bounce it through Kane around behind the net and Smiths. Smith trapped. A bouncing puck goes through the legs of CC. Kane now knows, oh, I think I’m going to get there first. And off the inside pad, look at Dryidle. Didn’t go past the net, too. What a play by Smith to put his feet together. It’s between his legs. He knows it. And he’s able to stop that one from over a minute his own there on that last shift that played off the side of the net. It’s good. Skinner and he makes two stops off Maverick Court. Cody Cece sends that wide around to the far side. And Harley gets there in time. Oilers on their heels right now. Johnston uphanded there. It’s centered and drove to the net. Skinner down. Rebound and it’s played into the corner and then a drive to the net. Bford couple of quick plays. Toast save there by Stewart. Skinner will pay hints. Ron takes a long look. Holds on. Watch by Kan and Harley. And that’s blocked. pick him up. It scores. Rupe [Music] [Applause] hits of trying to kill penalties. Stops and starts take away the passing lads in the shooting len does a great job of blocking the first one. Stewart Skinner thought that the original maybe was to the side so he’s late reacting. And look at Skinner. Fired right back by Cody Cece. Picked up by H. Here’s the shot and it’s off Heckle and out. McDavid’s going to break. Conor McDavid scores. A silencer here for Conor McDavid. And the Oilers restore a twogoal lead. Chance. Dallas setting up for another good opportunity with a hint with all kinds of pressure. And watch the way that McDavid uses that pressure to his advantage. As a scorer, you’re coming in with all kinds of speed. It’s a tough read for the Smith. Pull it with a back hand. As soon as you get the Smith to go down right there, you pull it right back. Well, here we go. A third period away from a birth in the Stanley Cup final for the Oilers if they can protect a twogoal lead. Ranson trying to find a puck loose in front and Skinner covers up. Haven’t been able to do so since team number one. There’s Pico Ranton swinging wide on McDavid, sending it across. Robertson scores. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] That’s it back within a shot. Oh, that’s the old adage for Mike Tyson. You got the perfect plan until you get punched in the face. Just a little bit of a sloppy change. McDavid coming out. So, that creates the D to back off. And you mentioned Robertson. He’s the one that’s been able to find a way through that. As Jake Allen talks about that little triangle, right now Dallas got a little more jump. Wman’s been stuck out here, too. He’s the one with the puck, but he’s dead tired. Needs to get a change and we’ll get some. Here comes Bry. Evander Kane starts in the score. They got a bounce. Evander Kane and it’s a twogoal lead again. with an own goal. That’s just a killer. Roman’s dead tired. He waited for everyone else to get a change. The speed through dry cycle and instead of going all the way around, surprises. You can see Lindell stopped on the dime there right off his toe past the glove. The Smith didn’t get it. And never a bad thing to throw the puck to the net. A big goal again. And Edmonton back in the lead by two. will come to Lindell. His shots and field goes up. Skinner just got a piece of Blackburn earlier in that second period. Couldn’t find the one that got by him here. Just gets the toe, tip of the toe there on that rebound. All the bodies in front. There it is at the last second. That little extra push. This team didn’t get swept last year, but they worked hard to get the job done to get a second opportunity at Stanley Cup. That puck is going in the net. an empty neter to cap it. Excuse me, Jean, but I think it is Kissberry Kan who get credit. Steuart Skinner celebrating. They took out the Kings in LA. The Golden Knights in Vegas. Now the Stars in Dallas and the Oilers are headed for a rematch with the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup final. [Music] Hey, hey, [Music]
Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist and Leon Draisaitl contributed two helpers as the Edmonton Oilers topped the Dallas Stars 6-3 to win the Western Conference Final in five games and punch their ticket back to the Stanley Cup Final.

boring
Glad to see Dallas out. Nasty part of the world
Oh well Stars. Another year without the cup. Window is closing soon I'd say. Go Oilers from an Avs fan!
They may have gotten the win, but that third Dallas goal was bad!
Still, another convincing win!
Ready for this rematch man. Should be a wild series.
Звезды в Далласе сегодня были потухшие
Sooo good
Stars could've made this an exciting series, if they played half this good the last 3 games. Edmonton wanted it more. Should be a good final.
A beautiful game indeed. For ppl crying for a grudge match v FLA: I just don’t see it, the players take this far too seriously to let things get outta hand come crunch time. EDM in 6 – and prove the way to The Cup goes through L.A.
Good luck oilers
Good old sports beating against DeSmith. Not unlike his plea agreement
Sadly oilers were too good rn i was rooting for dallas from Finland. Skinner is on fire rn. Gonna be very good finals against barkovs panthers🔥
A rematch of last year's Finals! Has this ever happened before in the NHL? Where the same two teams meet in the finals two years in a row?
I don't care who wins, but I hope it goes to at least six games. If it goes to seven, and it ends up going to overtime, that will be the best-case scenario for me. It would basically turn it into a Sudden Death match.
You are not a fan if you walk out period
Don't like the Oilers but I loathe the Panthers so go Oil!
McD is like greased lightening.
Happy for Oilers from a St. Louis Blues fan…
Yikes, 3 goals in first 5 shots for edm. 17 total for dal in an elimination game? 😳🤯
Go Oilers! Time to get revenge on Panthers 😉
Bye bye Dallas, enjoy golf
DOMINATIONN
Oh yeah. LFG!!!!
Wheres the trophy lifting????
We miss Corey Perry, what a good playoff player. habs fan here, but go Oilers!
Кипер звезд сегодня был явно не боец. во всех дуэлях его мягко говоря поимели
We all know this year means so much for the LORD STANLEY to finally come back to Canada .Let's go Oilers
As a Canucks fan best of luck to the Oilers on the final, bring lord Stanley back to Canada bring it home to where it belongs best of luck in the final go oil!
All of Canada needs to get behind this team. Light em up. Bring it home. MFG in Sask. Geaux Oilers.
Вітаю тебе, Едмонтон! Будь ласка, ще Кілька Кроків 🙏
Hard defensive problems in dallas
I'm European and usually don't watch NHL games live because they're pretty late here. But today I have a day off and I wanted to see the Oilers eliminate the Stars, so last night I woke up at 2 am and watched the game. Right from the start it felt like the video was at 1,5 or even 2 times speed, it looked so fast. But what really stunned me was McDavid scoring the fourth goal. The immense speed he was able to muster, and the defender trying to keep up, and still handling his stick and the puck so close to the goal and not crash into it – I expected both to just totally crash. That's immense athleticism both players showed there, especially McDavid. If not before that's where I was wide awake. I mostly follow European hockey (around the german speaking areas), which has evolved compared to the 1980s, but feels kinda "chilled" in comparison. I was impressed. Now, Oilers, bring it back to Canada. Counting on you over here.
Mcjesus magic was for real ekholm played ok I'm glad his back and got that funky business over with stu played well good job oilers 😅😊🎉
Crazy collision course from Edmonton and Florida.
Both teams coasted to the playoffs resting players and not caring about the division titles, both teams getting through rounds 1 and 2 well.
Both teams deposing of their opposition in the conference finals in just 5 games.
Called it oilers in 5 now against Florida I say oilers in 6 let's go bring the cup home oilers
Its Connor mcdavids time … Guy is an absolute unit.
Another Skinner showed up in Oilers. Stars looked doomed from the starting puck drop.
With hyman gone it Will be very hard
Suck it Dallas. I hope Edmonton goes for the head of Bobrovsky in game one, as the NHL ruled twice now that hitting the goalie in the head on purpose is OK in the NHL playoffs
