Dude is an enigma. Rule 5 guy turns into a real top of the order guy for a couple years, falls off a cliff, and now is dealing in the bullpen.
Did the Royals ever really try him in the bullpen? My memory is he started sucking as a starter and they just kinda moved on from him.
it’s not entirely a “going to the bullpen” velo increase since he was relieving last year and now he’s gained 3mph on his fastball at 29 (his average in 2025 is 97mph)
