MLB LIVE🔴 San Francisco Giants vs Miami Marlins – May 30, 2025 | Full Game MLB 2025 EN VIVO
So almost ready to get underway. And starting in this one, Max Meyer. Chris, it’s a little more common these days, but still he’s a strikeout per inning type of guy. Well, I hear you about the strikeout. It’s a lot more guys striking out today, but when you consider having the ability to get that strike out, particularly when you need it, a man on third, less than two outs, situations where, yeah, maybe you’re not a real high strikeout guy, but just knowing you have the swing and miss stuff in a big spot, I think it’s real critical. And he’s got it. Mike Yrenky leading things off and takes a shot. [Applause] The wind to the pitch and it goes just foul that misses the zone and that’s ball one. See if you can go upstairs a little bit. Make sure you miss up and out of the zone since you’re heading the count one two. Don’t miss in the zone cuz that’s where you can get [Applause] hurt. Here’s Elliot Ramos and that drops in for a strike. Meyer measures 6 feet even 25 years old. A former first round pick in 2020. One out. Base is empty. Ripped on the ground is second. Quick start here this evening. Two out. Top of the first. Here’s the Giants lineup. They’re facing a pitcher today who’s prone to giving up homers. So, we’ll see. We might get some big swings here today. Yeah. I think the key though and the reason why he gives up those homers is that guys are locking in. They’re aggressive and they have a high confidence level. So, I think if that’s the approach these hitters take with the stuff he’s got there on the mount, yeah, there’s a good chance that there’ll be some balls that fly a long way. But you can’t get too big in your swing. Otherwise, you’ll be really frustrated after this one. Wilmer Flores in the box now. No balls in a strike. Swing and a line drive. Base hit out into center field. Joey gets on base and keeps it going. The center field. And next will be the cleanup hitter, Jung Hu Lee. and foul ball. Out of line, out towards center. That’s a hit and out to a board. back-to-back base hits. Just a very nice approach and swing right there to use the big part of the field. Everything was on time. He stayed balanced through the entire swing and just launched that one into center. Here’s Matt Chapman. Chapman gets a piece there. Here we go. Miami. Well, this is a higher leverage spot and I love the way that he’s turned things around. He’s got two outs now ahead in this count and he can pretty much dictate what’s going to happen next in terms of the pitch sequence. the O2 and misses inside. Recognize that change up right out of the hand. Just spit on it. That misses the zone. Now two and two. [Music] struck him out looking. No runs on two hits, no errors, and two men left stranded. And now the Marlins will have a crack at things. No score. Back here at Lone Depot Park starting on the mound in this one, Logan Webb. Tell us about him in that sub3 RA singy. Well, anytime you can keep your ERA under three, you’re doing a lot of things right and you’re putting your team in a position to win a lot of ball games as well. And he’s doing tremendous out there on the mound. And every time he gets the ball, you expect him to go out there and dominate. And that’s what he’s been to this point. We’ll see how he is today. And that one popped in the air left field. Ramos makes the catch. And a quick out number one. And time now for the Marlins lineup. A guy who’s been huge for them over the last month plus, Liam Hicks. Well, Boo, there aren’t many guys who have a flare for the big moment like he does. I mean, batting over 400 with runners in scoring position. Are you kidding me? I I know it’s not guaranteed or an automatic, but I hope we get to see him in a close late game situation with runners in scoring position and just see is he truly a machine or not. This ball’s chopped on the ground. Two out. The first baseman. And at the plate for Miami, Eric Wagaban. misses outside and that’s ball one. Two outs. Base is empty. Swing and a miss. One ball, two strikes. [Music] headed towards the corner and that’s a fair ball. Makes the turn and heads for second and that’s a two bagger. Well, that certainly feels good when you can win the atbat after being down in the count up against it with two strikes right there. Just a cookie down the middle. I mean, those are the ones you dream about. The ones in the cage you’re just hoping you get in the ball game right down the middle. Not a whole lot of velocity right on top of it. So the go-ahehead run in scoring position and now it’s going to be Kyle Sters that finds the mark on the inside corner. Boy, you always want to come out in the first inning trying to put something up on the board. It’s a big two out double right there. See if the cleanup man can drive him in and put a tally up there on the board. Come on. That misses the zone and the count is one and one. Well, here’s a chance right here for one of the better hitters on this roster to get him on the board in the first thanks to the three-hole hitter extending the inning. Good at bat with two outs. Wagaman at second with two down. Let’s go. Got him looking and he did not like the call. Second inning coming up here in South Florida. No score. Back here in Miami, Willie Adam stands in. Willie Adam Meyer back to work. Fouled off down the right side. Here’s the pitch to Adamus. Swing and a miss and he got him to chase. Well, you got the hitter already chasing that nasty slider. If you’re on the mound, you just want to expand the zone right now. Get a swing and miss and get through this at bat. And that one lifted in the air center field. He makes the grab. One down. And here is Casey Schmidt. He swings and fouls one off. He goes down looking. Just couldn’t pull the trigger on the fast ball right there. And I don’t think he was taking it thinking it might be a cold ball or anything. I just think he was flat out frozen. Did not expect that location in my opinion. Line drive and foul ball. Second inning here. No score. Outside low and a count even one and one. And that’s downed away. [Music] Fouls one off. Two and two. Good job to fight that one off. Right through there. Got him. And a nice inning aboard there as he sets him down. One, two, three. Nothing doing there for San Francisco. We’ll go to the bottom of the second. No score. And we’re back. Bottom half of inning number two. Now it’s the Marlins catcher Liam Hicks. backed up the middle and a base hit. Man aboard on the leadoff single. That is good. Conor Norby the next up for the Marlins. Just missed. [Music] And another ball. I think he wanted that call in the upper part of the zone, but just didn’t get it. Now he’s just trying to get a better feel for how much it missed, so he can adjust his sights just a little bit. Rudder at first with no outs here. [Applause] down low and kicks away. No advance from the runner, but it’s 3 and 0 now. And there’s the automatic. Next offering is fouled back. He swings, floats it into left and it stays fair and he boots it. Now second and third and nobody out. Didn’t exactly square that one off, but sometimes you don’t have to. He’ll take those boop hits off the end of the bat all day long. It doesn’t mean you put a great swing on it, but hitters deserve to get a lucky hit every now and then. Now it’s the rookie DH. Golden opportunity right here. That one’s upstairs. Ball one. One ball. No strike. Hicks on third. Norby stands at second. No outs. chopped to the ground. Throws to first in time and that is a big first out. Victor Mesa Jr. will hit next. How many times have we seen an early at bat change the course of a game? It happens every night in baseball and maybe it happens again here. Hard hit left side. Tosses to first, but the goal ahead run comes in to score. Javier Senoha the next to hit. As a pitcher, you know the runner on second is ready to push things with his speed. A base hit, it’s probably going to be a big run, so you really have to execute on the mount. Right through there for a strike. No ball. One strike. Now one runner at second. Two down. And that is out of play. gets a piece there. We’ll do it [Music] again. Man on second, two down. Swing and a popup. Fitzgerald makes the catch and the inning is over. So they pick up a run on two hits. No errors and a man left. We head on now to the top of the third. It’s the Marlins one and the Giants nothing. Top half of the third inning. Now it’s the second baseman. Tyler Fitzgerald. Ball one. No strikes. [Music] Just missed. Two and0. Next offering upstairs. Well, I would expect in this three 0 count. You’re taking all the way. See if he’ll walk you. Next offering is in for a strike in the air pretty deep out to center field. Mesa makes the catch and there’s one gone. Back to the leadoff spot in the Giants lineup. Mike Estrenky up here. Struck out swinging his first time. and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter. That’s off the mark. One and one. One and one. [Music] Swing and a miss. There’s that change up. And the swing and miss. Now five strikeouts for him on the mound. Well, I’ll tell you when he goes to look at the video of that pitch, he’s going to want to punch himself. That slider had hit me written all over it. And clearly, he just got a little too excited. It was out in front. Tell you what, when you get a pitch like that, you cannot miss it. Those have a chance to go a long way. Ramos stands in now and watches strike one. hit hard on the ground is short. On to first out number three. No runs, no hits, no errors. We head now to the home half of inning number three. It’s the Marlins one and the Giants nothing. Bottom of the inning. Now it’s the Marlins leadoff hitter Jesus Sanchez and foul ball ripped to short. Snagged out of bounds. It’s there and that’s a great play. Augustine Ramirez. And up next for Miami, Augustine Ramirez. First time up, he grounded to third. [Music] There’s the strike in there at the knees. 0 and two now. Wow, that’s 89 on the gun and it’s a change up. It’s like good hitting if you’re looking for it, but because of the speed differential between the fast ball and that pitch, really hard for a hitter to get on time with it. Well, that bat seemed to be over as soon as it started. Three pitch strikeout, you’ve got to be better at the plate right there at least to foul something off. Extend that at bat. Wagaman in the box here. lets that one go for a ball. This one popped up. Foul ground first base side. He’s got it. And that is out number three. And the Marlins down quietly, but they lead it one to nothing as we go to the top of the fourth. And now it’s the Giants DH. Wilmer Flores fouled off left side. Flores in his 12th season, 33 years old, and he’s usually a first baseman, but today he’s the designated hitter. Next offering is downstairs. Some people say that first baseman kind of have the day off regularly because they don’t run around a whole lot, but when you think about it, they are involved in just about every single play and there’s a lot of stress that gets put on their legs. So, a welldeserved day at the DH spot for him. Lead off hitter retired in the fourth. The center fielder, Junghu Lee. Here’s the center fielder, Jung Hu Lee. One for one with a single so far. Here’s some fun facts about Jung Hu Lee. You look at the fact that he wears number 51. Not a shocker, but his favorite player growing up. Ichiro Suzuki. That one to first. Wagaman steps on the bag and a couple of quick outs. Now that Chappie steps to the dish to take his cuts went down on strikes his first time through. One of the other aspects of Jung Holi’s bio, he was actually drafted as a shortstop, now an outfielder, but he grew up right-handed and his dad was the one that made him switch hit. Mentioned Lee’s dad, Jung Bum Lee. He was a legend over in both the KBO and in Japan. These two are the only fatherson combo to have played in the World Baseball Classic. That’s kind of cool. Swing and a miss. Struck him out. Giants goal in order. Nothing across here this half. On now to the bottom of the fourth. It’s the Marlins one and the Giants nothing. Bottom four. And now Kyle Stardy [Music] check swing and he went and that’s strike two. fouled off and they’ll do it again. And that’s off the inside edge and the count one and two. Stays alive. the wind, the kick, and the one-two. Hats and misses. It’s a strike out. Definitely made him chase a little bit out of the zone right there. I don’t think that’s a strike if he takes it. Pretty textbook pitching. Get ahead in the count. Get the guy in the box on his heels and then force him to chase your pitch where he doesn’t have much of a chance to do any damage. And now for the Marlins, Liam Hicks. line drive caught. Nice swing and good solid contact. That ball was smoked, but needed a little more lift to get into the outfield gap. Maybe a little more backspin. And at the plate for Miami, Connor Norby doubled in his first AB and that’s through there for a strike. 0 and one. Well, he’s been incredibly efficient in this one. first pitch strike percentage over 70%. That’s well above league average and that’s what’s allowed him to pitch well up until this point. Two down, nobody on. We’re here in the bottom of the fourth up the middle. Dives, but it kicks off his glove. No throw and they don’t get the out. Wasting no time. He’s two for two now on the night and just a triple and home run away from the cycle. Seriously, we’re starting with this already. Now, here’s the Marlins DH. There’s the strike. I love this part of the game. Does he really want to try and steal second against this catcher? I know he’s fast, but it’s pretty risky. Miami. Two outs and a foul ball. That one back up the middle and it gets through. So that’s two straight two out hits. Now batting Victor Mesa Jr. the next up for the Marlins picked up an RBI in his last at bat. Still their only run of the game so far. And a foul ball. [Music] Out to short Adamus. They get the force. Inning over. Marlin strand a pair, but they hold a one- nothing lead. Ready now for the fifth inning. And now the shorts stop. Willie Adamus Meyer back to work inside just missed. All these Giants as this game goes on have to be more disciplined at the plate. They’ve been chasing pitches outside the zone all game and it’s led to some frustrating moments. They’ve been fooled quite a bit today. Sanchez pulls it down and there’s one [Music] down. And here’s the first baseman, Casey Schmidt. He’s 0 for one. Miami. Lifted in the air right center field. Sanchez gets under it. And there’s two away. Patrick Bailey, the next Giant to hit. Struck out looking at his first at bat. Come on, Miami. This one in the air center field. Mesa gets under it, makes the grab, and that’ll end the inning. And welcome back to the ballpark. ready to go for the last half of the inning. Now here is Javier Senoha. That’s a ball tried to attack with a sweeper. One ball, one strike. This one chopped on the ground but foul. [Music] That’s outside and that’s ball two. Broken bat and it’s popped up. Schmidt puts it away for the out and there’s one away. Now battiel. So up next, Jesus Sanchez hole for two in this one. [Music] That clips the zone and it’s 0 and one. Oh, one strike and downstairs. [Music] Next pitch is downstairs. doing one [Music] on the ground to third and that’s just fouled. Highfly ball down the left field line going back and it is gone and they add a run. It’s two nothing. He just scored this home crowd in a big way. What a swing. Anytime you have a pitch down the middle of the plate, the percentages go up for the hitter to do damage. Even if it’s a pretty good sinker like that one. Nice piece of hitting there at the plate. Augustine Ramirez the next up for the Marlins. Went down looking on three pitches last time. Let’s see if he can be a little more aggressive right here. Centerfield Lee sizing this one up and he makes the catch and there’s two down. Number 33 Eric. And up next for Miami, Eric Wagaman. One for two and it’s fouled away. Two down, base is empty but one run across. Last half of inning number five. Just miss on the ground of first. He takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it. One scores in the inning coming on this solo home run and it’s two zip. All set for the top of the six. Here’s the second base, Tyler Fitzgerald. right through there for a strike. Oh, he’s looking great so far. It helps when over 80% of your first pitches are strikes. He might be able to go the distance if he keeps this off. That’s down and in. A slider missed. [Music] Comes up empty. That’s strike two. It really looks like these hitters have been in between with their timing today. Good fast ball, excellent slider, but they’ve not been able to commit to one velocity and stay there. So, he gets the call and picks up the strike out looking. Sometimes with a good hitter at the plate, he’ll be the one to get the benefit of the doubt if he lays off on a close pitch like that, but just not right there. Strike zone definitely expand a little bit with two strikes. So, the lineup flips over. Here comes Mike Estreky to the plate. That one pulled foul. Next offering popped in the air right field. Sanchez makes the grab. Two down. Lefties can definitely be a little pole happy up there, especially with pitches that they see pretty well. That was a good example. He hooked an outside pitch, hit that ball in the air to right, just not with much authority. [Music] Ramos up for the third time and takes ball one. No, this manager knows that his players are just trying to do too much. Everybody needs just take a deep breath, relax, and let it naturally happen. And now two and nothing. Oh, I think the key I mean if he can get through one more inning, anything after that, a hitter or two is bonus, but they should be lined up good enough to get to the finish line. Next offering is down low. A rare three ball count here. He’s been throwing strikes all day. Got to be ready to hit if you’re in the box. Next offering is in for a strike. That’s good pitch there. Really had some run and finished little up and end just on the edge. And that’s one of those if you swing at it. He had a broken bat as you jog back to the dugout. hit softly on the ground to third and that goes foul. That’s to third. Boots it, gets off a throw, and that’ll do it. So, another good inning for him on the mound. Six shutout innings. Now it’s the Marlins two and the Giants nothing. Well, we go bottom six now. The left fielder, Kyle Sters. And that’s a little bit high. Doublebarreled action in the bullpen. Camo Dval appears to be getting loose. Rodriguez, a hard throwing right-hander up as well. Next offering in there for a strike and the count one and one and a swing and a miss there. One [Music] attempt liner base hit and the leadoff man aboard. Well, I’m not saying that play was easy, but it was harder than it needed to be thanks to the bad jump. Those small moments can be costly. Bob Melvin hands the baseball over. Logan Webb won’t go any further. And it wasn’t his best start, but he kept them in it to this point. And we’ll come back with a new arm. Eric Miller into the game. and they felt it was time to bring on a left-handed reliever from the pin with a lefty hitter coming up. I think that’s a good move. I know I never liked when opposing teams did that to me. Liam Hicks the next up for the Marlins. And that drops in for a strike. [Music] upstairs. And now it’s even one and one. Nobody out. Runner at first. [Music] Fly ball down the line. Nabs it and there’s one down. Third base number one Connor Nory. Connor Nory getting ready to hit. Boo. The runner at first needs to be careful right here. He’s dealing with a pickoff artist on the mound. missed with a change up. One and0 man at first, one away to the left side, but it is well fouled. Two balls, one straight. Fall off foul. That missed by a lot and the count is filled up. Got him. Swingy. gasted right by him. And Chris, that’s a way to neutralize his speed by keeping him off base. And the defense breeds a sigh of relief because he puts pressure on everyone if he can put the ball in play. But that’s how you do it. Keep him off balance, get him out of there, and deal with the next guy. Number 41 in the box again takes the strike. It’s a tough pitch, but in terms of the best pitch you’re going to get to hit in the at bat, that fast ball was down enough where you’re going to catch up to one. That’s the one. When he elevates, guys aren’t touched it. [Music] And the slider just misses. Really good take, especially with two strikes. Good eye right there. He’s really tightening up his hitting zone with two strikes here. I love it. Cut on and missed and it’s a strike out and that is the inning. So, one hit is all they get. Seventh inning coming up. It’s the Marlins two and the Giants nothing. Back here in Lone Depot Park, we go to the top of the seventh and digging in for San Francisco, Wilmer Flores. That clips the corner. Movement in the bullpen, Ronnie Enriquez up and loosening in the pen. Weathers the power lefty up as well. [Music] Oh, he doesn’t get the call. Ball one. So, what we’re seeing is a lineup that’s just out of sync with the pitcher. They’re guessing wrong and their timing’s off. The one-1 is fouled off. I wouldn’t throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just have a hard time catching up. Fouls it off. Still one and two. out to center. Mesa settles underneath it and there’s one down. So, here’s the cleanup hitter, Jung Hu Lee. He’s kind of an outlier, especially when guys are consciously sacrificing contact to deliver power. That one fouled off. Yeah, his swing is so good. It’s in the zone a long time. He gets the barrel to it a lot and that produces more base hits. Breaking ball inside and it’s one and one. Singi, one of the things that’s interesting is that guys really don’t worry about swing and miss from an offensive standpoint anymore. So when you see somebody who contacts the ball like this, do you think of that as plus value? Absolutely. If he’s doing damage now, if he’s rolling over and and grounding out, then it’s a different story. But yeah, if he can put the ball in the gaps or over the fence, 100%. Highfly ball down the left field line and there’s two away. Now now Matt Chapman at the plate who’s 0 for two with a pair of strikeouts. First pitch misses. Two down, nobody on here in the top half of inning number seven. Chapman gets a piece there. That’s towards center. Mesa settles under this one. Hauls it into [Music] Indiana. Here’s a new pitcher from the pen, Camilo Dval. Just trying to keep this one close here. And this is where a bullpen can give their players a chance to fight back into the game. And now for the Marlins, Victor Mesa Jr. And first offering is fouled off. Dval, a very difficult guy to get hits off of. It’s really rare for teams to string stuff together against him. He wins every pitch. And for a hitter, sometimes a victory is just fouling off one of his pitches. Not close with that one. And that’s ball one. Unless he beats himself somehow. can’t find it, doesn’t have the control command that day, you can pretty much forget about it. Swaging a ball hit out towards left center field. It gets down. A base hit and a good start to the inning as a hitter there’s even more pressure to take advantage of any mistake, right? Yeah. And you’re hoping that, you know, somehow someway, whether it’s a hit by pitch, a walk, something bad happens because outside of that, stuff is just too good to fail. Run around to go. Yeah, that’s fouled off. And he’s got deception in his delivery. And it’s not that he’s trying to deceive the hitters. He just has this natural flow that makes it hard for hitters to pick the ball up. It gets on them a little bit quicker than they anticipate. Even though they know what the velocity numbers are. [Music] Got him swinging. One away. Well, take a look at the three pitch sequence here. pretty simple in terms of putting them away at the plate. Once you’re ahead 02 as a pitcher, you can really expand the zone and see how aggressive that hitter is going to be trying to protect and battle. And right there, clearly he was in swing mode, but all you can do is hope to foul that off. Jesus Sanchez the next up for the Marlins. That’s 99 at the knees. Doval in his fourth year. He features a slider, a cutter, and he works in a sinker. Runner on the go. Ball outside. The throw tag and he’s out. Man, I see him trying to be aggressive right there late in this ball game. Try to add on to that lead. You know, I really like the thought, but it just didn’t work out that time. Nice job by the defense right there to keep things right where they are in terms of the score. Check swing called strike. And that one misses up and in. And the count is two and two. That was absolute gas. Triple digits on the gun. It’s just a different experience as a hitter watching that go by. Oh, he doesn’t get the call and it’s three and two. Good spot there, but didn’t get the strike at the knees and doesn’t seem too convinced by the call out there on the mound as he tries to get a better sense of the umpire strike zone. And that’s ball four. Tried another slider, but it missed the plate. That’s a nice atbat and a great take on 32. Probably could have gone either way in that spot around the knees. So, a man aboard. Now it’s the shortstop. Augustine Ramirez 0 for three. A fly out, a ground out, and a strike out. The shorts stop takes a ball. [Music] Two balls. This one in the dirt. That one inside. Three balls, no strikes. Oh, he never moved cuz he never had time to. But that kind of velocity, you’d prefer that pitcher work away. Tries to hold up. Appeal to first. And he held up just enough. That’s ball four. He did not take the bat off his shoulder the entire at bat. First and second, two outs. And at the plate for Miami, Eric Wagaban, one for [Music] three. And that is in for a strike 0 and one. Man, I mean, nice job just presenting it to be better than it actually was. Two outs. Couple of base runners at first and second. Next offering is fouled back. Next one misses and the count is one and two. Squirts away a little bit. Sanchez at second. Ramirez at first. Two out of the inning. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] And that swool the swing. It’s a strikeout. So, it’s no runs on a hit, no errors, and two are left. We look ahead to inning number eight. It’s the Marlins two and the Giants nothing. New pitcher on here, Ronnie Enriquez. Should be a good first match up for him here. He’s been doing a great job against right-handed bats so far this season. They’ve had a lot of trouble squaring him up. So, digging in, Willie Adamus. [Music] First pitch just misses. Signs of activity in the pen for the Marlins. Anthony Bender, the anchor of the staff, is getting ready to close this one out. That’s a ball. He’s clearly trying to work him away here. Both pitches off the plate. If you really want to put the ball in play, you’re going to have to stay back and drive it to the opposite field on the inside corner for a strike. Well, in this one, the offense has sputtered. Somebody’s got to find a way to get on, keep the line moving, and manufacture at least one run. Then maybe you get two or three. Chopped left side. Sends it across the first. First out in the top of the eighth. You want to be a great defense, you have to deliver consistently. It doesn’t matter how many highlight reel plays you make if you can’t execute the small stuff. Just like we saw Casey Schmidt, the next Giant to hit. Comebacker to the mound. Handles, throws the first. Two up, two down here in the top of the eighth. That’s a huge defensive play in the late stages of the game. It might not be the most challenging we’ve seen today, but it needed to be made. That’s helping your team. Bailey at the plate now as he chases after that one. Talk about tying a guy up. That was ugly. Looking very settled on the mound here in the eighth. One more out. They’ll probably hand it off to their closer for the ninth with at least a two-run lead. and he chases that one below the zone on to first in time. The two-3 strikeout ends the inning. So, the Giants with a new pitcher on the hill, Randy Rodriguez. Oh, he’s having an excellent season so far. Erra is under two. Lot of flexibility coming out of the bullpen. Here’s the left fielder, Kyle Stard. The leftielder. And the first pitch misses for ball one. One ball. No strike. That one missed. out in front with the swing and that is strike one. That one fouled off. Two and two and down on strikes. One out. Liam Hicks the next up for the Marlins on the outside corner. It’s 0 and one. Wow. Just a beautiful back door slider right there. If you’ve got any chance of hitting that pitch, you have to wait until the absolutely last millisecond. Just a tough pitch to hit and not an easy one to throw either on the ground to short. Adamus whips it across. Gets the catcher by a step. Oh, we talk about how the ball is coming out of the pitcher’s hand. The way it comes out of his hand as an infielder. Wow. Really impressive. Two outs, space is empty. Next to hit, Connor Norby. There’s the strike. Hard grounder into the outfield for a knock. Takes the turn. He’s digging for second. Now the tag at second and he’s out. Trying for two. Marlin set down in order. Anthony Bender comes out trying to close it out. He comes in with a chance for his second save of the season. Tyler Fitzgerald digs in now. up the middle. Can’t glove it cleanly. Still finds a way to get off the throw and save. Couldn’t recover from the misplay. Hard to tell exactly what went wrong right there. That was a fairly routine ground ball, but he just couldn’t get it to stick in the glove. Might have taken his eye off it a little early, but regardless, you’re going to have to work around that error. Back to the top of the order now. Now it’s the Giants leadoff hitter Mike Ystreky. 0 for three with two strikeouts and a fly out. Swings and chases a low one there. Oh, and [Music] one. The tying run at the plate. Swaging a highfly ball out towards right field. drops into the globe and there’s one away. [Applause] He’s two outs away. Elliot Ramos, the next Giant to hit. Corner infielders guarding the lines trying to prevent extra bases. And the first pitch misses for ball one. Way to lay off that pitch down. just missed. Chris, with that distraction and the speedy guy at first, he’s in a favorable hitter count. Well, if nothing else, I mean, this is a great spot for a hitter to be in on the ground right side and it’s just fouled. That was close. Tying run at the plate. Sharp grounder. That’s through for a base hit. The throw to third. Throw pulls him off the bag and he’s saved. Well, patience and discipline paid off right there as he got into an advantage count. There’s nothing cheap about the way he got that one through the infield. That was ripped. Caught out in front and didn’t get under it like he would have liked, but definitely put a good swing on it. Now that sets up a huge at bat in this ball game. Runners at the corners here. One away. Wilmer Flores, the next Giant to hit. The last thing he wants is to hit the ball on the ground, but I wouldn’t expect many pitches up in the zone. They’ll be pitching for a double play in this spot. And Elliot one. And that one fouled off with the go-ahead run at the plate here in the top of the ninth. Next offering is downstairs. One ball, two straight swing a highf fly ball down the right field line and that drops foul. Two on, one out. Ground ball right side. Could be two. Throws it away. Everybody’s going to be safe. Well, this offense just got a major gift. Probably should have been a double play, but it all starts with the good feed to second. And right there, everything broke down on the throw. We’ll see if they can capitalize on this. Two on, one out. Now, the Giants four hitter, Jung Hu Lee. That one’s in there. 0 and one. ball one there. This is the guy they turn to to get the most important outs of the ball game, but they’re going to make him work to get this save. So the tying run at second and a count one and two. Pretty good pitch there to take a rip at. He wants to get his arms extended. He likes the ball away from him a little bit. Just not able to square it up. Swing and a miss. Stuck him out. And the Giants down to the final lap. He had him out in front which isn’t easy to do against a hitter like this known for using the entire field. Just couldn’t sit back long enough on that one. One out left for the Giants. Matt Chapman the next Giant to hit. Down to their final out, but an opportunity to deliver the tying and maybe even winning run. Swinging a foul back and that’s out of play. [Music] Two on, two outs. And the swing miss. The Giants down to their final strike. That wasn’t an easy pitch to hit. It’s much easier to do damage against mistakes, but that’s not what that pitch was. In the dirt, but kept close. Tag save. He’s into third on the wild pitch. Nobody on defense feels great right now. The pitcher feels responsible for missing so far outside. And the catcher wishes he could have done more to try to stop it. [Music] And the sweeper misses for a ball. S 22 knocks that one away and we’ll do it again. Got it. And that’s the ball game. Well, the visitors were going to have to slug to win this one. The tit, but the go-ahehead all the way at first base. Nice job by the defense executing, keeping their composure, getting that final out. And your final score here today, 2-1 for Chris Singleton and our entire crew here at MLB the show. Thanks for stopping by. I’m John Shami. Talk to you soon. Heat. Heat.
