  1. We’ve got our own UFA/RFA issues to figure out first. Moving Pageau and/or Lee would help with that effort and actually make us players in the market

  2. Don’t think we can realistically offersheet him. We don’t have our 2026 second rounder, so any offers we can send would either be too much (in terms of cap and comp) or would be easily matched by Buffalo.

I am open to trading for him, but I’m not sure we would have anything Buffalo wants that would be fair value for Peterka. I think Buffalo is past futures at this point considering they’re itching to make the playoffs again.

  3. We have 2 firsts next year. We’d have to be better this year, otherwise we’ll gift Buffalo a lottery pick. But I wouldn’t be against it. He’s a 23 years old with huge potential. Exactly the type of player we should be stockpiling on both offense and on D.

  4. If he means the removal of Fasching, MacLean,or any other of the dreadful 4th line players ( I use that term loosely) then I’m all for it.

  5. Don’t want to lose the picks. Would rather a hockey trade.

Honestly, Dobson for Byram and Peterka is the kind of deal to consider. Even if we have to add a forward to even things out.

  6. We can’t lose next year’s first rounders. So as has been said it must be a hockey trade . I wouldn’t be so quick to trade Dobson unless the rumors of him demanding 9-10 million are true. Then by all means trade him, he’s just not worth more than 8. I’m looking forward to having the league’s top pairing when Schaefer arrives!

  7. As much as many don’t want to hear this, two things…

One – We need to fully see what we have to work with now that Lou is no longer in control and Roy’s hands are not tied. Both he and Darche need to pool their efforts to see what can be done with this bunch of misfits.

Two – We don’t exactly have a lot to offer outside of players people on this reddit seem dead set on holding on to (Dobson, Barzal, etc) Nobody going to trade a 27 goal scorer for Hudson Fasching or MacLean.

Would it be nice to have a guy like that? Of course. But before we try that approach we have to handle our own business, That’s the reality.

  8. I don’t know if it’s worth offer sheeting him tbh, but maybe looking into a trade wouldn’t hurt.
