Go Oilers, but not the ones from Houston or Tennessee

  1. Brother we haven’t won an nfl playoff game since I was 1 just let us have hockey

  2. I think Canada is such a cool country. The people are great, food is good, culture is pretty unique! That being said…. THE STANLEY CUP BELONGS TO AMERICA!!! 🇺🇸 🦅*eagle noises*

  3. Little bit of history for any new hockey fans—

The Edmonton Oilers, and Florida Panthers are having a rematch of last years Stanley Cup Finals. Meaning this is the 6th consecutive year that a team from Florida has made it to the finals, third in a row for the Panthers.

Last year Florida went up 3-0, Edmonton rallied to force a game 7 but lost anyway.

Conor McDavid, the guy in the pic, won the Conn Smythe trophy, which is for the MVP of the entire playoffs not just the finals. He’s the 6th player to win MVP on a losing team. He declined to come out to accept the trophy.

Before McDavid, in 2003 Jean-Sebastian Giguère, goalie for the Anaheim Ducks, won the Conn Smythe, but not the Stanley Cup. [And looking at his face…](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/s/D0GwXsUxCe) I understand why McDavid would decline to come out. Giguère did win the cup in 07 so it wasn’t all bad for him.

  4. If you want to root against the Panthers and still watch football, there is always the Michigan Panthers. I know it’s UFL, but at least it’s football and not hockey
