Ronny Simon Runs Off Field Crying after Making 4 errors

Marlins rookie Ronnie Simon had a night that he definitely wants to forget as starting things off when the Marlins had a 6-1 lead in the second. He’s going to boot the ball there. That’s going to be an error. And he’s throwing the ball into the catcher and that’s going to be thrown away. So, it’s almost like he made two errors in one play, a fielding error and a throwing error. And now we’re going to be skipping ahead to the bottom of the fourth inning where it looks like a routine ground ball, but he’s just going to boot it away. He’s a rookie. It’s easy for this stuff to get in their heads. And then later in that fourth inning, the next batter, it could be a routine 463 double play, but he flips it right over the shortstop’s head. He is in tears as he walks off the field. He’s going into the dugout in the clubhouse today. He heard or he said that players like Fernando Tatis, Manny Machado, even Robinson Canó reached out to him. So I think now everyone is rooting for Ronnie Simon.

  1. 1st fielding error shouldn't have been called an error. He was laid out trying to get the ball, which ordinarily would be considered something not usually playable… an error is when you miss a play that is usually playable. The second fielding error was on him, but it was the 1st baseman's fault for being in the way.

    And this was in horrible taste to say he was "running off the field in tears". You make it sound like he's a little kid who couldn't take it and quit. You should be ashamed for trying to get clicks like that.

  2. Anyone who mocks him or makes fun of him is a loser and clearly has never played this sport before. It’s a hard game and the fact that Ronnie showed this emotion just means that he cares. The only thing I got out of this ordeal is that I have another player to root for.
