The Toronto Raptors Could Be Eyeing A HUGE Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo

And here we go. Shams recently said this could very well be the craziest off season in NBA history and it could end up being a busy one for the Toronto Raptors. ESPN’s Brian Winhorst was on Sunday’s Hoop Collective podcast and he dropped an interesting tidbit which involves the Toronto Raptors. Swinhorse saying, “I don’t want to get too far a field from this, but since this has come up, the Raptors are a team that is starting to make noise within the league about looking for a big fish.” Winhorse went on to say, and you know, I think because, and I don’t want to get away from this, but I’ve stated it myself. If you’re an Eastern Conference team that’s in the middle of the pack, you’re looking at the teams in front of you going, some of them may not be able to come together, may be able to stay together. their Boston is hurt and so there are some teams that sniff the ability to make a move and I think Toronto is one of those teams and so naturally any team that wants to make a move this summer especially a team in the Eastern Conference you’re going to have Giannis on the board but Toronto I think is going to try from their initial conversations teams in the league are getting the impression that Toronto is going to try to do something so let’s talk about it guys do me a solid hit a like subscribe the channel for more raptors updates and content just like this. Very, very interesting stuff. And I can’t help but to think the player Messiah has his eyes on is Giannis at the tako. Of course, we know the history. Messiah has long coveted Giannis for more than a decade. And if Giannis does in fact request a trade, I do believe Messiahi could go allin on Giannis. The thing about Messiah Jiri, guys, is he is opportunistic. And I keep drawing parallels between this off season and the off season when the Raptors traded for Kawhi Leonard. There was a huge opportunity in the East once LeBron James left the East to go to the Los Angeles Lakers and Messiah, he capitalized by trading for Kawi Leonard. And of course, it worked out brilliantly. this off season might be a big opportunity as well because Giannis could be available and you look at the current landscape of the Eastern Conference going into next season. There may in fact be a chance for a team to leapfrog some other teams on their way to making a run because the Boston Celtics are going to be without Jason Tatum. We don’t know what their roster is even going to look like. They’re expected to make some moves and the East is weak. Let’s call it for what it is. I know the Pacers have been on a magical run. The Knicks are there, but there’s not a super team or a hard team that you got to get by to make a run to the NBA finals. So, could Messiah do what he did and make a big trade in hopes of getting this Raptors team over the top? And we know when it comes to business, when it comes to winning, Messiah, he’s got everyone on the table in a potential trade. And of course, when you talk about the Raptors reportedly looking for a big fish, Giannis’s name, the first big player coming to mind, at least for me, it is. I mean, I know there’s other names like KD, but I think that ship is sailed. It doesn’t make sense to go after a 36-year-old KD or LaMelo Ball. In my opinion, this means Giannis Messiah, would he be willing to sacrifice a big piece to get it done? And this all begs the question, would the Raptors be willing to part ways with Scotty Barnes? Right now, I don’t think there’s an untouchable on this Raptors team. I mean, the closest player to an untouchable is Brandon Ingram just because they traded they just traded for him. They just signed him to that contract. And if the Raptors are looking for a big fish, a big star, and they think they can seriously compete and contend next season, you’re gonna need Brandon Ingram, who’s in his prime next to this big fish if you seriously want to go out there and win. So, I don’t think Scotty’s an untouchable. And I think in this scenario, this situation, the Raptors would have to part ways with Scotty Barnes plus filler and future picks to get a Giannis trade done. and a trade that I’ve thrown up on this channel many, many times and one I’m quite okay with doing if I’m the Toronto Raptors. Scotty Barnes, Grady Dick, Abaji, three first round picks for Giannis. I think that would be one of the better offers. And if Giannis is available, I’d be willing to strike on this trade. Now, I know people are going to be saying, “You’re parting ways with a lot of depth, and I get all that, but you’re trading for a guy who is a top three player in the NBA.” Giannis is 30 years old. He has at least five more great seasons ahead of him in my opinion. He takes really good care of himself. And you’re talking about a two-time MVP, a former NBA champion. I know you’re giving up Scotty, but we got to be realistic about Scotty, too. like he’s entering year five. Is this sealing Giannis at Takmpo? I don’t think so. I’m not saying he’s not going to become a great player, but a player like Atakmpo doesn’t come around too often. Like these are players that are generational. So, it’s a top three player in the NBA. You’re going to have to part ways with something substantial. Now, in this situation, let’s just say the Raptors did go allin for Giannis. And let me know what you think of the trade down below. What would their team look like? you would have a starting five of Emanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, Brandon Ingram, Giannis, and Yaka Purle. That’s if the Raptors didn’t make follow-up trades after this or even part ways with RJ Barrett in that Giannis deal alongside Scotty Barnes. So, let’s just say you just give up Scotty and those filler pieces and Grady Dick and Apaji. That’s your starting five. And then the bench is where you’re really going to feel it because you’re going to have a lot of secondyear guys who you’re going to have big expectations on in Shed, Walter, and Mobile. But hey, they got the playing time last season. They got real valuable rep. So when you look at this, that starting five can definitely be competitive in my opinion. You would definitely have to continue to tweak this roster to add the necessary depth. you would need to go out there and get a stretch big. I’m not saying you’re trading away Purle, but you need a stretch big to plug into lineups with Giannis and BI. So, can you acquire that in a follow-up trade or do you bring back Chris Bucher on a team friendly cheap deal? That’s a guy who’s going to be contributing on a contender. So, all of a sudden, if the Raptors are looking to contend, maybe you keep him around. You’re going to need some more shooting, some veteran play. So maybe you go out there and and get a a veteran shooter. So there’s obviously work that needs to be done, but just looking at it, looking at that starting five, you’re telling me that can’t make things interesting in the East. Like Giannis with Brandon Ingram, guys, I think that would be arguably the best duo in the East next season. Especially when you take into consideration there’s no Tatum in all likelihood for all of next season. Like that is a deadly duel that complement each other so well with Ingram’s ability to space the floor. He hits the three. Giannis, he wants to play more point forward. He said like Scotty Barnes, him, you know, doing his thing. And then obviously you need Emanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett to elevate their game, but R.J.’s coming off a big season. Purle’s you know, shown his importance on both ends. So really like if you fix up that bench and follow up moves, this team could be an interesting player in the East. And again, there’s going to be a big opportunity. There’s no like unbeatable force in the East going into next season. So again, we know Messiah. We know his track record. He said it before, he wants the win. We’ve seen it, too. He’s not really patient. I mean, we all thought we’re headed for a slow, methodical rebuild, but then he expedited things with that Brandon Ingram trade because the opportunity presented itself. So the point is if opportunities present itself, Messiah Yujiri is almost seemingly in those conversations and he’s not afraid to strike. He wasn’t afraid to strike for Kawhi Leonard, even if it meant parting ways with beloved Raptor Demard Rosen. He wasn’t afraid to make a deal for Brandon Ingram when the Raptors were quote unquote in their rebuild. So why would Messiah be afraid when it potentially came to parting ways with let’s just say Scotty Barnes if Giannis was indeed available? So again, this is all contingent on Giannis at the Dmpo. He has not formally requested a trade. He’s not a free agent. He is still with the Milwaukee Bucks, but with some of the things we’ve heard from reports and all that, it seems like Giannis, if I had to guess, he may want to test the waters. And I think this may be the summer of Giannis. And as soon as he lets the Bucks know he wants out, it’s going to turn into the Giannis at the Tupo sweep stakes. And I think that’s going to be a giant domino for everything else that’s going to happen this off season. So I found this very interesting because we’ve heard it a couple times now with, you know, the Raptors. Are they going to be on the market for Giannis if he becomes available? Wendy dropping this. Now you’re starting to connect the dots. And you know, whenever a big-time player is on the market, you know, the Raptors at the very least do their due diligence. So, I just wanted to come at you with this video, guys. Let me know your thoughts down below. Are you interested when it comes to going all in for Giannis? Would you be okay with parting with Scotty Barnes? What do you think’s going to happen? Let me know your thoughts. Drop a like on the video. 1. I'd be ok with parting ways with Scottie, but the Raptors have to go for it all right away. I'm concerned about Giannis' age. I would AVOID trading Dick at all costs. We would need his three-point shooting to make waves in the playoffs.

  2. I can see it because next season might be a big opportunity to win a championship. The East is wide open. Boston might be out of it with their Tatum injury and teams like Miami are in shambles, we might only have a couple teams to compete with to get to the finals. You pull the trigger and you pull it fast!!!!
