Will The Detroit Pistons LAND Myles Turner Or Naz Reid In Free Agency?

But the the Mark Stein reporting uh with Nas Reed and Miles Turner. So I kind of want to like spin this question. Out of like those two two players that were mentioned, who do you think would probably be more realistic uh for the Pistons to attain this free agency? I think Nas just because while I said I I don’t think Minnesota would let him go, you brought up a good point. It maybe depends on how they feel about Julius Randall and what happens with that situation. Indiana is about to play in the NBA finals. You can’t let your starting center walk when your center situation is a little bit in. Like Anthony, they were playing Tony Bradley in this series. And then like like all due respect to Thomas Bryant because he came out and played huge in game six and hit some threes. Like I just think because of their situ it would be really hard for Indiana to let Miles Turner walk unless there is a path to another center that I’m listen when we do mock drafts over on Game Theory we almost always draft a center for them just to give them a backup. If they go into the offseason they don’t have a starter or a backup that seems a little bit problematic to me. So I just think nause because it may be more likely that Minnesota would let him walk or if it’s a sign in you know however it would have to work. I think it’s more possible that he is just allowed to leave his current team compared to Turner. I think Turner and maybe we talked about how we’re like both like not the best in terms of like evaluating contracts. I think Turner could get 30 million a year easily. I think Indiana wants to probably keep them at all costs. Like to your point, like Tony Bradley was like a a one-time Piston for like 10 minutes during the Troy Weaver era before he waved them, stretched and waved them, which well, and then part of the reason they’re backups is because Wise like Wiseman was probably going to play another former Piston legend. And so, um, you know, they they did have some injury stuff, but if I’m not mistaken, I think even those guys that got hurt are I know Wiseman. Yeah. And Bryant, both unrestricted free agents. Bradley, Isaiah Oh, Isaiah Jackson’s a restricted free agent, so he he technically could could still stay around and be a backup there. But yeah, I forgot, man, they they had really bad luck this year with their pick. So Isaiah Jackson, man, that that that kid’s got a high motor. Like I completely forgot about him. But um I like Miles. Like I was looking like really early. I was like, “Oh, he’s a free agent. That could be interesting for the Pistons depending on like what happens this season.” that this is like way before you know Malik and all those guys went crazy. This was like maybe like first week in the season I’m I’m looking at you know possible you know stretch fives because like outside of like you know Steu like Dur just wasn’t bringing it. I was like maybe that’s an option. I think it’s a a little bit unrealistic to try to get a Miles Turner because I feel like you’d you’d have to give up a lot. It’d probably be a signing trade and then like what happens with like Malik, what happens with Dennis? like you’re going to have to move a lot of parts uh financially to make that work. Yeah. No, I mean that’s the thing. Or if you want to open up the cap space, I think at this point to truly be a player for Turner, you’d almost have to move Stew’s money elsewhere or Tobias Harris’s. But again, whenever you start getting into those guys money compared to like Fonteio, it becomes harder because it’s either Brooklyn or you have to find a trade exception. and Stew, even at 15 million, there’s just not going to be as many of those trade exceptions, right? Because if you’re trying to open up cap space, you’re trying to trade it where you’re not getting any money back for those guys. And so I I do think Turner’s just going to I think it would be difficult. It’d be I don’t know. It’d be interesting if like Indiana facilitated a sign and trade for Turner. Like I just I don’t see how they don’t value him enough to bring him back. And yeah, um I will say like I didn’t think he was great in the Knicks series. cuz I thought he was awesome in the first two series of the playoffs. I thought in the Knicks series he really struggled with Cat. Cat’s obviously an incredible offensive player. So, I’m interested to see how Turner looks in the finals. Like that may determine a little bit of just like how robust that market is in terms of the AAV he ends up signing for. Yeah. I mean, he’s going to have his hands full with Chat and Hartinstein and all those guys. I mean, that’s a that’s a squad, man. That’s gonna be a fun series. I can’t wait. Yep. I can’t wait. Um, Nas I I think is more realistic. I know I know you kind of touched on it because I think he would fit on this roster like a glove. I mean, I I know I I’ve listened to your podcast with Lamari. Like fans always mention we need a stretch for, we need to stretch four. Like Nas kind of fits that bill. I I don’t think his AAV will be as much. I don’t know if you saw that like leaked conversation he had with the better saying I’m about to get 100 million a year. I did not see that quote. Oh like some some better like said man you missed me on my points and like you like quitting back and forth with like uh some some random guy saying like oh like you know you cost me money and called the guy broke which was really funny and entertaining actually to kind of read but like I honestly think he’s way more realistic than Miles Turner. think Miles like you’d have to move a lot of parts and I kind of like the fit with Nas and I’ve been eye on him probably since I did my pre-draft stuff during the SEU draft. Like I wanted him in the second round when he goes undrafted and I was like Yeah. No, he he offensively he would bring a real interesting and like again like you you move him into, you know, maybe obviously come off the bench next year. I assume he’d come off the bench, you know, and then maybe then he supplants Tobias Harris after one year. Maybe maybe he does it this year. Maybe Tobias would be willing to take a backseat. I don’t know. Um, and this is where someone like Assar, uh, Ron’s development, honestly, Ji’s development defensively, JD’s, like you get Nause in there and if you have the right, you know, like not necessarily known for his defense, but if you have these really good wing defenders, you have some rim protection, stuff like that, then you just let his offense cook and he would be really interesting. You’re like, they’re another team I I’m not great with sign and trade. I I do not like try to parade myself as a CBA expert at all, but like I wonder what else it would take like I wonder how like Shruder would make sense in Minnesota to me. So like is there a double sign in trade? Like I don’t even know if that’s possible. I need Kyle Mets to like let me know um how how these mechanisms work. But I mean, you you wouldn’t do that one for one, but like is there something is there a starter there of Shruder somehow ends up in Minnesota, Nas somehow ends up in Detroit. And that would be that would be interesting to me cuz I I think he play him and Stu would be awesome together. He could still play with Duran. He he plays with Assar. Like everybody plays with Cade so that’s not even a question. Like I Nas Reed is really good, man. Like I think he can really score the basketball. So um he would be interesting. Yeah, him and Ron just have to hug it out if he did get traded because I I I think I think they would like that. I I watched that game recently and I I’m still watching. I’m like, man, why the hell did he get mad? Like, he didn’t do anything. It’s uh I don’t know. I There’s so much of that in the NBA. I just I’m I’m sure they would figure it out. [Music] Ooh. Ah. 1. Talk Kaminga into playing with Cade, eventually take over Tobias Harris roll. Its a gamble but Miles and Ried are getting paid.
Do you consider Ivy better than Jalen Green in this moment in time.

  2. Myles Turner GTFOH y'all reaching y'all shouldn't even never even put him in the conversation especially not coming to DetroitπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
