Per David Pagnotta: Stars players aren’t happy with how DeBoer handled various situations during the WCF, that includes media remarks from him after Game 5
Yeah, he really fucked that up bad. Publicly embarrassing the star players of one of the top 3-4 hockey teams on planet earth probably wasn’t a great strategy.

By his projections and past history, we miss the playoffs this year.

Even if he didn’t say that, you figured that after losing back to back conference finals, management or ownership might question whether or not he’s the right coach to get them over the hump. Sometimes it’s the players and sometimes it is the coach.
No shit. You mean stating to the media that the 7/8 last WCF losses against Edmonton are solely because of Otter, the franchises beloved goalie, instead of of the team or coaches would backfire?
Fuck this dude. If the Stars ownership has any pragmaticism at all, they’ll get ahead of this and fire DeBoer. You can’t have your coach talk about him that way and not have some kind of reprocussions. This city just lost Luka Doncic because of a blowhard GM, and the fans abandoned the team in masses. If Stars ownership doesn’t do right by Otter here, they risk alienating the fan base in the same way. This fan base will not tolerate this unprofessional bullshit.
