  1. I wish there was a way to mute all stadium news. I don’t want to hear anything more until a decision is made.

  2. Experts not factoring in the profits from selling calendars. Everybody buys at least one calendar per year

  3. I dont think any modern stadium (in the US at least) as seen any benefits from the Stadiums. I mean you get a team and that’s cool and all, but look at Vegas. They agreed to a privately funded stadium, only to have the county pay for it, so its on the backs on of the locals. The “A’s” were supposed to move from Oakland to Vegas, and once again the tax payers are going to be on the hook for that one, after years of promises otherwise.

The Rams stadium is another one to look at.

  4. Other experts say Kansas STAR bonds can pay off new stadium plans, more on this story at 5.

  5. At the very least, we as local fans are playing a role in something historical. Whether that’s good or bad, I don’t know.

I mean, we may not even have pro sports as we know it in 10-15yrs lol.

  6. if Missouri or Kansas do not want the Chiefs and Royals a lot of cities will be happy to have them. Orlando, Charlotte, Nashville, Montreal, Salt Lake City, and Mexico City.

  7. People float around the 70% funding like it’s free money from a money tree, but on close examination the revenue from a stadium won’t get anywhere near that. I’ve been trying to tell people this but it usually falls on deaf ears. It explains why the Chiefs and Royals haven’t jumped on the KS offer.

  8. $171m over 10 years to close the Medicaid gap in Kansas was too much money even though it would instantly improve the lives of thousands of the poorest people in the state. By the time the sales tax difference pays off these bonds, the Hunts and Sherman will already be crying poor again. Bilking the tax payers to build a private asset for a handful of billionaires continues to be the most puzzling public policy decisions, especially considering that the team is already in fucking Kansas City.

  9. Hmmm how did KC Kansas get the Kansas Speedway, Children’s Mercy Soccer Park and the Legends area around those venues built? Pretty sure Star bonds were used and they’re all pretty successful!

  10. Politicians say its all good but analysts that do this for a living are saying the opposite. Where have we heard this one before?
