After losing in the second round of the 2004 Olympics the United States sent a team to rival the 92 Dream Team determined to win the gold medal and get redemption for losing the previous Olympics. The Redeem Team included notable players like Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Jason Kidd, Carmelo Anthony, a host of other players, and most notably for this LeBron James and Chris Paul, 17 years later this team is being inducted and those two are still playing.

  1. Based on his injury history with the Clippers, I would have never guessed that CP3 would still be in the league. Get his more of a mentor now, but he still sees solid minutes and is a positive contributor despite probably being 5’11. Bron was always an ironman, but CP3 was considered very injury prone

  2. I’m not a fan of teams getting inducted but this team is one of the most important in basketball history, they restored order with the rest of the world. The final was one of the best games I’ve seen

  3. Man, I wonder if Lebron will make it as a player some day? Hard to imagine

  4. Lebron shouldn’t be in the HOF. HOF is for people who read books past the first page. /s

  5. Carmelo and Dwight is going into the hall of fame twice on the same night.

  6. Meanwhile Wilt Chamberlain was inducted in 1979, having been retired for 7 years, but was still getting contract offers until at least 1986.

Not even LeBron will be getting contract offers at age 50+.

  7. No, they technically will not be. The HOF only considers the team itself inducted, not individual players from the team. Yes we know that they are members of the 08 team, but the HOF has a retirement rule and only acknowledges players when they go in as players.
