  1. If we don’t trade the pick I would like Fiddler. Timeline-wise, he could be a perfect Demelo replacement down the road.

That said, sign and trade with Ehlers that sends him out east to CAR, TOR, DET, whoever for another 1st then flip the two 1sts and other stuff for a real 2C with term.

Edit: I would also be okay with getting another pick then offering to trade up to the top of the draft to try for Misa or Desnoyers. Does an Ehlers sign and trade and like Colin Miller get you Pittsburgh’s pick? What else do you need to add to the deal to get to #1 or #2 to get Misa? I could see San Jose listening on an offer that had two 1sts, a depth skater and a more NHL ready prospect like Barlow or Lambert.

  2. For what it is worth – here’s Button and McKenzie’s latest rankings I’ve seen:

    Button:
    25 – Lynden Lakovic (LW – CAN – WHL)
    26 – Logan Hansler (D – USA – NCAA)
    27 – Benjamin Kindel (RW – CAN – WHL)
    28 – Sascha Boumedienne (D – SWE – NCAA)
    29 – Joshua Ravensbergen (G – CAN – WHL)
    30 – Ryker Lee (F – USA – USHL)
    31 – Theo Stockselius (F – SWE – Sweden J20)
    32 – Jack Murtagh (C/LW – USA – NTDP)

    McKenzie:
    25 – Benjamin Kindel (RW – CAN – WHL)
    26 – Jack Murtagh (C/LW – USA – NTDP)
    27 – Milton Gastrin (C/LW – SWE – Sweden J20)
    28 – Joshua Ravensbergen (G – CAN – WHL)
    29 – Cole Reschny (F – CAN – WHL)
    30 – Cameron Schmidt (RW – CAN – WHL)
    31 – Haoxi Wang (D – CN – OHL)
    32 – Charlie Trethewny (D – USA – NTDP)

Lots of potential options, movement, etc. I don’t see us taking a goalie.

Reschny plays centre and is from Saskatchewan. Might be a good fit.
