  1. Both the Flames and the Thrashers failed and had to be relocated. How many chances is Atlanta going to get?

  2. “The Houston Humidity” might be a nice name to go along with Utah Mammoth lol.

  3. So essentially the same thing Daly said a couple of weeks ago when he was asked about it. Atlanta is going to present their argument for a team to them after the playoffs. I doubt anything different will be said by Daly/Bettman until after then.

  4. Basically it’s show me the money and I’ll show the BOG. And it’s very expensive to buy into the club.

  5. I think what they mean is that they won’t outright say “alright everyone, throw your bids in for our new expansion team”, and they’re simply just going to look at offers instead.

Atlanta will be the first of these offers, I believe a meeting is set up in June?

  6. i mean if they’re gonna add two teams, might as well add one to each conference. but then the divisions would be uneven. also it better not be a bs expansion draft like vegas

  7. How many failures will start in Atlanta?

    Why not Phoenix again then?

  8. How many failures will start in Atlanta?

    Why not Phoenix again then?

  9. Please give Kansas City a team again! Haven’t had a team since 1976 and the city is primed for an NHL team

  10. Let’s be real the NHL having the largest amount of teams but also the smallest talent pool of the four major sports would just be counterintuitive.

  11. Someone has to go full Luigi for Quebec to get their due. (Even tho anything on ice in ATL goes to Canada)

Someone from the Avs, you owe them one.

  12. Ok.
    1. Vernon krause is ready to present his project to the league after the CBA is ratified and it will most likely be approved. People need to understand that this new ownership is focused solely on hockey only and will put the arena in a place where the demographics make the most sense, called the “Gathering at South Forsyth”. They’ve also picked a couple places to put a practice facility to.
    2. The reason they’re doing it this way is because they want more American teams and this way ensures they can add stop Hamilton or Quebec from applying. Not that they couldn’t support a team or the bad Canadian dollar, it’s the upside of more American teams that’s attractive
    3. This way also ensures that they can be selective, with Houston also the other frontrunner to be 34th team. The league wants to be back into Arizona also after that. The 36th franchise would be a wildcard of best fit. The best place for a team would be Portland or KC or maybe Milwaukee. I don’t know the timeline will be but this is definitely how it will end at 36.
    4. Lastly, for everyone mad or thinking that it’s stupid they’re going to expand again to Atlanta, get over it, it’s happening. The NHL is going back to Atlanta whether you guys like it or not. It’s a huge tv market of home to one of the NHL’s partners. Downvote me idc money talks and none of you guys understand how the business of sports works. Money.
