  1. David Pastrnak deserves all he can get from the nhl. That caliber of player. Like mcdavid not an oilers fan but so hoping they win the CUP!!! So Mcdavid can have that achievement in his illustrious career!!!

  2. I think it would be a good move to try and offer sheet Marco Rossi, the guy is not favoured by the Wild and could be a good 2C option for us. If they offer $7,020,112, they only need to give up a first and a third round pick. Then that would be a good long term solution to the 2C problem. Wild might match, but unlikely since they need to save room for when they need to re-sign Kaprizov.

  3. Rossi or Peterka would probably be worth going for as long as Buffalo is asking for a reasonable return for Peterka or the offer sheet compensation to get Rossi isn't too much (a first and a third would be ideal). I want nothing to do with Zegras. Sure the Jets might be able to get him for less, but the risk of his personality and also the possibility that he is not able to be as good as he once was is just not worth it.

    Debrincat is good, but I'm not sure if I would be ok with the price. I would rather the Jets go for Peterka or Rossi.

    Edit: some other possibilities would be Mettelstadt, who was on a good trajectory until he was traded to the Avs, which weren't a good fit and then the disastrous Bruins. I could see him being a better "buy low" option. He has a low cap hit and two years left before UFA.

    Also Jared McCann. I don't think Francis wanted to give him up, but maybe Botterill has a different view if the price is right.

    I don't think Jets need to do much
    Adding a 2nd line player or 2 in a trade do not sign or waste money on Nelson/Gourde/Granlund or overpaid UFA. Trade for a guy. Only ufa I'd be open to is Mangiapane/CodyGlass.

    *If Toews wants to come back obviously could use him even in depth role.

    We have picks,prospects like Heinola,Kupari,Lambert,Freijs,Wagner,Barlow,Milic/Divincentiis,Walton,He,Julien.
    I'd prefer keep Yager/Salmonsson/Chibrikov. But if it means getting a star now do it. I agree the 1st is late and not needed. Our chance to win is this year and next 2 yrs after not 4-5yrs when players age out.

    Hopefully 1 or 2 of these players. Need more size and grit come the playoffs!

  10. Chipman has recreated the Nashville Preds with Chevy being David Poille and Helle as Pekke Rinne. No creativity , vision or aggressiveness in this Management team. They need to move some players if Ehlers leaves to fill holes but tough when they are a “ family”
    Just stuck in the same rut.

  11. Pasternak is the dream if only Jets would trade for him – Connor is someone they covet. Islanders- Pollock and A.Lee ( all class) for Barlow, Nino and a pick or Lee and Dobson for above and our 1st round pick. Gavrikov is FA – pay him! I am of the opinion not much happens here except people leave for nothing and we patch holes with average AHLers and fringe NHLers.
