the Phoenix Suns trading Kevin Durant to the San Antonio Spurs makes perfect sense in my opinion because first and foremost from the Suns perspective the Spurs have a variety of different assets available in a Kevin Durant trade They have draft capital like they have the second overall draft pick this year They have the Hawks draft picks in the future They have their own draft picks in the future and they could possibly get rid of two or three of those in a Kevin Durant trade depending on what you get back else in return They also have roster players that fit the bill They have Kellen Johnson They have Devin Vel They have rookie of the year Stefon Castle So is it possible that a trade involving both draft picks and those players could be made available for Kevin Durant it absolutely could So if I’m the Suns the Spurs put together a pretty intriguing treasure chest of both draft assets and young talent But from the Spurs perspective why does it make sense well Fcher Wimpyama you know and the Spurs franchise are wanting to are wanting to take the next step and win a championship as early as 2026 And with this roster currently constructed as is they’re not quite good enough in my opinion and they need a be and then they need a boost In a perfect world you’d keep that second overall draft pick draft Dylan Harper or Ace Bailey and then proceed that way What if you bring Kevin Durant to the mix he’s a champion He’s won two championships with the Golden State Warriors He’s an older player so bringing in an older player to kind of mentor some of these younger guys With Chris Paul probably not returning in San Antonio this could make some sense Like Kevin Durant being in more of a leadership role makes some sense Kevin Durant as well going to a bit of a smaller market to end his career in San Antonio That could be a perfect spot for him just in regards to his relationship with the media but also too to win a championship Kevin Durant’s not winning a championship in Phoenix This Phoenix Suns team is pretty disastrous right now truthfully speaking and the future’s pretty bleak for them So if he goes to San Antonio he gets to play with one of the best young players in basketball in Victor Wanyama He gets to play with D’Arren Fox as well And having those guys as a big three they could do some damage not only next year but for the next couple years after that while Kevin Durant is still playing at a very high level So in my opinion Kevin Durant getting traded to the Spurs makes perfect sense but leave your thoughts
