what’s happening here now we are being told that Ryan Weathers just got hit in the head by a baseball oh my goodness nick Forz just hit Ryan Weathers in the head on his throw down to second he turns around right off the top of the head woo wow [Music] well you feel bad for Nick Forez because he must be feeling awful what on earth just happened yeah a lot of times when you throw that last pitch if you get eight pitches out there and then once you make that last one when you tell the catcher to throw it down you turn around and just assume that he’s going to make a good throw i mean it’s not funny but he just took it off the top of the head he’s out there talking to himself now now Clayton McCulla is having a conversation with the home plate umpire Ben May see something new every day i guess Ryan Weathers is telling the training staff that I’m okay but they continue to insist that he keeps on throwing pitches well the one thing you have to worry about you have the heat it’s already hot he has the sleeves you know they’re used to pitching inside yes all up and down the East Coast it’s hot anywhere anyway in the summer but you know here the real feel is almost 100° and so you have that in a combination getting drilled on top of the head there’s that last pitch you know you tell them to throw down you watch him all right here’s ready to throw down we’re going to start the inning gets drilled right top of the net that ball goes out into center field heat heat [Music] [Applause]
After completing his first-inning warmup pitches on Saturday, Ryan Weathers gets hit in the back of the head by Nick Fortes’ throw to second base. Following a quick evaluation, Weathers laughed it off and made his scheduled start against the Tampa Bay Rays.
