Royals vs. White Sox Game Highlights (6/8/25) | MLB Highlights

On the field before the game today. The penguin, our friends at the Brookfield Zoo bringing him over as part of World Ocean Day and he made some impressions on the young white Sox team Vargas doing his best penguin impersonation. I do understand that he was a little cranky today. Goes to the mound. This is his 19th. He’s the opener today, but he’s a different type of opener because he can possibly go three innings if need be. The Royals saw Vassal out of the bullpen one month ago today in the air to right field, it is Taman drifting over towards the line will make the grab for the first out in the ball game. 11 pops it up shallow right here comes talk again, still jogging to home plate and he’ll make the grab. Garcia shoots it down the first baseline past Elko and rolling into foul ground. Garcia takes an aggressive turn at first. He heads to second and Tauchman bobbles the ball in foul territory. And so garcia has got an easy two out double, see if Pasqua can get a hit with a runner in scoring position. Vinas homer in both games. Of the series three one hit hard on the ground right to Elko and he’ll scoop it and take it to the bag. He’s got good hands over there. A really nice job making sure to get in front of that, not try to backhand it. Now, Michael Lorenzen takes the mound for his 13th start this season and he is in need of a rebound start. He enters today with a 5 to 12, er, a in 65 innings White Sox looking to jump on Michael Lorenzen 3 to 2 pitch here to Tauchman and he works a walk the 12 again and my drops it in the air straight away. Center kyle Isbell Shuffles back to three steps and makes the catch one away, swung on and missed strike. Three. Lorenzen got him with a change up. So two outs now in the bottom of the first inning, miguel Vargas , he’s going to get a hold of one. He can take the ball out any place in this ballpark. Vargas hits this one to left field going back and it is miguel Vargas his ninth of the season, a two run shot and the White Sox strike first here in the first inning. Boy, that baby got out of here in a jiffy boy, he just jumped all over a high fastball, yanked his hands in and made sure not to top that pitch home run. Number nine that leads the club for a better day. Than yesterday and most of his days are better than yesterday. He was zero for four with four swinging strikeouts yesterday low and outside and that’s ball four. So Salvador Perez a day after striking out four times, draws a walk in his first plate appearance. Leon lines it into center field and the Royals have two on with nobody out. A 12 swing and a miss strike three just muscled, a fastball right on by him up the middle sox looking to get to first and a double play is turned to end this top of the second inning. Mike Vassal making his first big league start on the mound. Kyle Thal behind the plate. The rookie, these were former teammates back in 2021 with Virginia going all the way to the college World Series 12 ##### grounder up the middle of base hit by Isbell. Third hit on the and his fifth hit of the road trip. There’s a swing and a line drive. It’s going to turn into a double play as is be got caught frozen off the bag. So that’s an L three unassisted two down. Junior flied out to right field in the first inning and a swing and a chopper toward the middle to his left. It’s my, the rookie shortstop throws out Bobby and basil faces the minimum. He’s doing exactly what they were hoping he’s keeping his pitch count down and he’s easily gotten through three scoreless frames. Red hot passino can he extend his on base streak to 24? He’s already a career high 23 consecutive games and he hits it into right center field and that will drop in front of Robert. So he has another hit. He reaches base again, nine game hitting streak and he has a 24 game on base streak. Salvador per walked to lead off the second inning. Now he’s going to bat with the runner at first one down. Ties the game with a laser. Look at that exit 109 who said he needed a day off. He needed to be in there. He ties this game 22. He unloaded on that pitch. It’s his fifth homer on the year. Jared Schuster. A left hander was placed on the injured list to make room for Alexander and the Royals have seen him. Cag Leone hits it to the gap in right center field and that will bounce up against the wall and Cag Leone will stop at second base with a one out double swing and a bounding ball to mike and he’ll get the out at first. Cag Leone advance to third. So John Rave draws his second walk as a big leaguer that puts him at the corners. Let’s see if Kyle Isbell can come through. So Alexander works around of 1st and 3rd and Then 2nd and 3rd situation. It’s 22 back to hits for the Royals as we start this fifth inning, Alexander is going to have to navigate through this tough part of the order with two on nobody out for Michael Garcia garcia hits a soft grounder up the middle picked up by my step on second and a 63 double play. Have you seen this kid chase my? He’s an old school ball player man. Good play by chase up and over and getting the throw there in plenty of time. Called strike three. How about Alexander working on this jam? Michael Lorenzen had a leadoff walk and allowed a two run home run in the first inning. Since Then. The White Sox have only had one baserunner changeup struck him out and that is five for Lorenzen in the air to center field for is two outs but the Royals bullpen just starting to get busy, swung on and missed strike three and Michael Lorenzen is now on a roll. He struck out six today. He’s retired nine consecutive batters. Michael Lorenzen is back out for the sixth. He has held the White Sox to one hit to is down on strikes and Lorenzen now has been turning to his fastball after throwing mostly changeup sliders and curveballs in the first four innings. That pitch was up and it’s hit to left field, it will stay in the ballpark and Rave makes the play on the edge of the track. Lorenzen may have gotten away with one there. Now the pitch to Benee swing and a pop up left side of the and battling the sun. You see the reflection of the sun and his sunglasses on the foul side of the line behind third base. And what a job by Michael Oren after giving up a two run homer in the first inning, the next five are scoreless. So Waters leads from second base. India stands in right hander leisure and a swing and a ground ball of the third base line just inside the bag. It goes down to the left field corner. Waters comes around third to score. It’s an RBI double for India and the Royals their first lead of the day. It’s 3 to 2 and finally a hit with a runner in scoring position and just barely in terms of fair or foul. And now it’s Bobby, who’s the DH today runner at second one out Royals lead 32 one is popped up right side of the infield over near the mound and it will be Elko to make the catch and to the play will step Michael garcia. He’s playing shortstop today. Line base hit right field. Here’s India around third and Michael garcia makes it a two run seventh inning. So a couple of big hits in the seventh inning, an RB I double by India and an RB I single to right field by garcia and it’s his second hit of the day and brings up Jack Cag Leone, who’s having the best day of his career so far. He’s three for three with two singles and a double. How about a four hit game? My goodness. And that was a laser of a single in his center, three singles and a double for Jack Cag Leone in his sixth major league game 11 swinging a ground ball past the mound. But it’s going to take Rojas to second. He’ll turn a 43 double play the day of the double play. That is actually the one partner. So the Sox need to take advantage and Jonathan India comes to the plate with a runner on third and only one out base hit left field. And India has a three hit game and the Royals have a three run lead. Jonathan India has two hits with a runner in scoring position today and now looking for more. Bobby Junior steps to the plate. India runs and Junior drives it deep to left center. The Royals have opened up this game in the top of the ninth inning. An RB I single for India, a two run homer for Bobby Witt Junior. Three runs in the inning. It’s 7 to 2. That was a line drive shot for Bobby Witt Junior. That seemed like it was still on its way up when it crossed the fence. His eighth home run of the year Sox had one hit all day going into this inning. They’ve got two in the ninth, the bases are loaded with nobody out. Miguel Vargas is coming to the plate and now the White Sox have the potential tying run in the on deck circle and ball four. And there is life here in this ninth inning Carlos Est-vez on for the 28th time is er, a under two. He inherits bases loaded with the tying run. Now coming to the plate here in the ninth inning with nobody out swinging a base hit to right here comes Mir the score. Benintendi will hold it 3rd. 7 to 4. Still nobody out and Slater catch by Junior, he’s done it again. You can’t hit it there. I mean, that’s right on. He takes 23 steps and there’s that dive. We see so much. No cape. He got better air in ST Louis that last time but still, that’s almost identical. Fastball, softly grounded up the middle and scoops it up, shovel it out at second at first. Chesley robert beats it out. Benintendi scores Robert the tying run on at first with two outs here in the bottom of the 9th, 32, Stewart, the bases are loaded. Once again, here’s Tim Elko. He’s already got two game winning RBIs during this three game winning streak. How about another one? And Est-vez strikes him out hard and I don’t know what you were so worried about. Hud they had them all the way the Royals hang on and take the finale 7 to 5

  1. Sox play the Astro's next. I like both teams but it's in Houston so I think I will be rooting for them but would not mind the Sox getting at least one win there.

  2. Sox may not have swept the series from the Royals, but at least they took two of three, as well as a split of the four game set against the division leading Tigers. If they can continue to play like this, I see no reason why the Sox can't avoid another hundred loss season.

  3. It's great to see the offense start to get going as the pitching is not as consistently great like early in the season. We wasted too many games giving up 3 runs or less and losing.

  4. CHIsox my team for 62 yrs and not impressed for last 36 months. Cant watch em dont want to follow them but its in my dna. Can only let you younger fans and new Chisox faithful carry my water. I just cant right now I mean I cant root for not triple A but not big leag caliber playrrs.
All of em somewhere in between….😢

  5. don't understand why the sox keep pitching leasure – feels like he blows the game every single time he's out there

  6. Ŕoyals gift wrapped this my gosh bases loaded twice innthe ninth, 2x 😮😮😮 how do they lose i dont get it cept B+ players not one of these guys will own anything more than a stat line in a baseball who's who. Its a public works baseball team, anyone can and should apply they hire everybody! A JOBS program. Certain all of these youngmen are wonderful but if they were Vikings monks and monasteries would be all over Europe and we would be rooting for Belgian Monks in the world cup. These are the conquistadorsììu who u dont read about because they did nothing despite having access and accomodation and public money. Its an embarassment, if they were Italian in the 1920's they backed somehow somebody worse than what happend. Jiminy Crixkett basesloades twice in the ninth and they walked what 50 guys john h drury my gosh if I had hair I would pull it out. See its my health I cant do it, they justnmake me sick. Just gonna watch my Journey video and old intro I cannot so whatever that is onn35th street I cant do it. I flipped sure I am old the 76 team had more and they were horrible. 68..I mean I seen it all, this cannot be planned. There is no billy ball metric that would allow this collection on purpose. A team of guys who hit 7th at best in any lineup since hs.
