doc kind of said that part of the reason that he wanted you on the floor was your aggressiveness on both sides and and he knew that you were going to be able to deliver it defensively i’m just curious for you what’s your mindset coming in and how do you kind of find out that you’re going to move into the starting lineup uh really just mindset was come in and get a win obviously we know what it means if we would have lost this game so again every day every game come in and make an impact on both ends and have an impact on winning and that’s my main focus going into any game and you know that’s what we did tonight so we got to keep going when did you find out you were starting uh I want to say yesterday this morning yesterday morning or something like that but again whatever it is what it is everybody this time of the year we all focus on just winning um being there for one another supporting one another and getting the job done you know it could change but every game um depending on my matchup depending on the series so you know our goal the main focus is to get a win it felt like so often tonight you were the guy one pass away on the Giannis post up um just how good of a spot can that be for you personally to to kind of take advantage of a defense doubling off of off of you or somebody else yeah no it could be great obviously we understand how they’re trying to defend us and who they’re trying to guard and take Giannis out and take Dame out and you know so there’s certain opportunities that may present itself and just knock the shot down you know so starting the game guarding Hallebertton how did you want to set the tone defensively for for the team yeah really just you know trying to be all over him to start out the game uh don’t make it really too easy for him uh let him know you’re there let him feel you make tough passes in the passing lane make him give a little extra effort uh just know you’re there you know just feel him let him get a feel for you and you know try to take him out of his game or you know try to limit him as much as you can i know you don’t necessarily need it but how much does um the motivation not just from your teammates but also the crowd how much did that um empower you tonight yeah it was amazing you know they were super loud tonight it was ecstatic um it’s the loudest I’ve heard in it here you know but obviously it’s the playoff time and you know they bring it every year so we need them to continue to keep going for us and keep supporting us keep rallying us and keep pushing us and then how do you maintain that uh momentum if you will going into the next game the same focus the same mindset execute our game plan and go out there you know and play Bucks basketball this was a uh Ray Allen record that you tied tonight with nine threes does that name mean anything to you does that uh just how does that make you feel hearing that you match Ray Allen’s franchise record uh it’s really a blessing you know a testament to my hard work you know and everything that I put into it big fan of Ray Allen as a kid watched him accomplish great things as a buck um as a Celtic you know just follow his whole career you know the way he shot the basketball so to be you know in that group or name around him or near him as a shooter is a great thing for me it’s a blessing it’s a testament to just keep going and you know keep going when you’re having a night like that nine out of 10 you know feels like everything you were throwing up and going in just how did that feel on the court how you sort of describe that feeling to people who maybe haven’t experienced that yeah no it feels great it’s almost like a fulfilling feeling cuz again like I said I put in a lot of work a lot of time a lot of hours i sacrificed a lot of things going into this but you know again the cream always rise to the top and you continue to keep working and you know it should showcase itself when opportunity presents itself related to that where does this rank in your career highlights best games you’ve ever had or do other games come to mind where you just were feeling it like tonight yeah there’s been a couple games in my career where I felt like it was pretty going but again to do it in this setting playoff you know a must win you know this obviously probably one of the best ones for me you know yeah uh I think you’re five of seven in the third quarter you guys come out of a timeout and Doc runs a set for you um you get fouled on the three by Hallebertton just how much does it mean for Doc Giannis like all of your teammates to be like “All right Gary’s got it going like let’s start running stuff for him let’s make sure like he keeps getting shots up.” Most definitely it’s great you know obviously if the shot’s there the shot could be there but not obviously when you’re shooting like that it could be a pump fake and get the next guy open so it’s a lot of things that could happen you know in that thing but you know coach just put me in that opportunity in that situation and you know make the best of it make the right play they only score 18 points in the third quarter um lowest they’ve scored in any quarter in this series what do you feel like you guys were able to really unlock defensively uh really just our communication our rallying around each other our focus and again we know what we up against we know we got to accomplish we know what could have happened if we lost so we got to go out there and keep going and keep pushing it seemed like you’ve had the the green light to shoot whenever you get that open shot whenever it feels right throughout the series so I was wondering what feels different about tonight that you were able to just get going on that level i would just say really the the I’ll say the opportunity you can say as early on as it has i don’t know really this season have I had that many early opportunities early on but again it is what it is it’s a flow in the game and it may come to you it may not it changes by the game could change by the series so you know keep going
