for Angels baseball jose Soraniano starts to loosen up let’s run down the umpires for you andy Fletcher who is the crew chief will be the home plate umpire and he is known as a hitter’s umpire generally a pretty tight strike zone when he’s calling balls and strikes rest of the crew at first base will be Gabe Morales second base umpire Jansen Viscani and the umpire at third he was behind the plate last night did a pretty good job calling balls and strikes third base umpire is SoCal native Malachi Moore the dimensions here at the Big A 330 down the lines 396 the dead center out in left center field 390 and in right center field 375 still have some good seats available if you’re looking for something new on this Tuesday evening and don’t forget the Angels home stand will wrap up tomorrow with a day game matinea game and first pitch tomorrow will be at 107 after that the Angels are off on Thursday and then the Angels start a sevengame road trip with three in Baltimore and three in the Bronx against the Yankees so we are just about ready for baseball jose Soraniano has completed his warm-up tosses the first batter for the A’s is Lawrence Butler seraniano set here’s the first pitch tonight and that one’s a little high and away it pops off the mid of Oh hoppy it’s one ball and no strikes round the infield showell at first kangri at second reno’s at third and Neto’s at short seraniano ready for the 10 pitch and Butler checks on that one pitch a little bit low and inside two and 0 butler 0 for four last night he’s hitting 268 he’s had hits in 19 of his last 22 games he’s a lefty batter and the 200 pitch wave and a miss he was fooled on that one that was a sinker at 99 our time and temperature it’s presented tonight by Mount Mike’s Pizza pizza the way it should be at game time this evening 73Β° and the first pitch was right on time at 6:38 next pitch is in there and that’s going to even up the count it’s now two and two on Butler here’s the 2-2 delivery and that’s outside and it’s a full count zoraniano coming into this game he is second in the American League in walking batters you say Kikuchi still number one in that category although he had good control last night here’s the pitch and on the 3-2 he threw that one by a sinker struck him out and that’s the game’s first out one away yes boy the sinker it’s power sinker tonight 98 that last one at 99 thrown right by Butler and that strikeout right there is the first by an Angels pitcher and that’s presented by Circle K so here is Brent Rooker getting ready to bat he’s dhing tonight he was 0 for four in last night’s ball game right-handed batter with good power and he takes the first pitch that was a knuckle curve in there for strike one rooker hitting 267 guy who had 39 home runs a year ago and he hits a one hopper right to short stopped there by Neto throw to first in plenty of time two up and two away and Tyler Soderstrom will be the next hitter yeah ground ball rate this year for JosΓ© Soraniano the best in baseball 66% and it when he’s got it working and it’s the same thing we see with Juano it’s when they’re able to keep it down you can do nothing but beat that ball into the ground and here comes the pitch this is bounced off the glove of Sorano but stopping it near second is Neto his throw is in time and the inning will end on a 163 ground out top of the first inning presented by your SoCal Hyundai dealers there’s joy in every Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means oppo taco a home receive a shirt medal and two ticket vouchers register now at angels.com/5k zero leads it off for the Angels and goes after the first pitch bounces one past the mound out behind second and a nifty stop on that one by Aras and the throw is going to get Neto for the first out one pitch and one away that was a real nice play by Aras the second baseman i thought no chance and he’s going to throw on Neto nice job of getting to it i’m thinking ah he’s not going to even he’s going to do the token throw to first base nope he gets rid of it quickly one hopper and Neto gets thrown out by a step so here’s Shawell and he had a two hit night last night nearly a three hit night and he takes that one for a ball he he said after the game he literally said I went and or when he got back into the dugout after that he goes I watched that for 10 minutes and could not believe that he made that play out there at Denzel Clark yep there’s one that’s taken for a called strike yeah it’s the talk of baseball there’s no doubt about it and MLB I was watching it today they were going back looking at some of the greatest catches in in baseball and they were ranking that right there there’s one it’s grounded foul over on the right side denzel Clark was making the rounds on various networks since that unbelievable catch he made last night yeah and before during batting practice there’s a lot of people down on the field that are behind some railing and everybody down there wanted to take a picture with him right good for him yeah absolutely here’s the next pitch grounded on the left side diving stopped by the shortstop Schuman his throw is wild it ricochets off the netting in front of their dugout railing there that’s going to be a hit all the way and Shotwell now with hits in six of his last seven ball games the batter will be Mike Trout i thought we were going to have backto back really good plays and good throws on the money this is going to be close at first base great diving grab right there by Schuman throw off target spence is facing the Angels for the third time this season and keep in mind the uh two teams are just playing each other for the sixth time this year but he made two relief appearances against the Angels and both were scoreless in that series in West Sacramento a few weeks ago it’s a guy who did a lot of starting for them last year and he relies on his cut fast ball about 50% of the time he’s going to throw that cutter here’s the 01 trout takes that one and that’s a little bit low one ball one strike to count that was the sinker and that’s healing throws that sinker six time so it’s cutter subscribe and hit the bell bell so you never miss an MLB broadcast we go live every day WBC the shows that belongs to Couple RBI’s last hands thanks for being part of the road to the bottom of the first there is no score it’s being presented by Foundation Building Materials the official jersey partner of Angels Baseball had hits in 10 of his last 12 games and ready is Spence donell with the lead off the bag at first next pitch that’s a chase and a miss and down on strikes goes Trout so that’s out number two taylor Ward will be the next batter well that infield hit by Nolan Shaw is the first hit of the game and it’s presented by 714 tickets buy sell and enjoy the best seats download the app or visit 714 tickets.com here’s Taylor Ward he was 0 for four last night takes the first pitch and that’s on the outside corner that’s a called strike ward third in the AL with 18 homers tied for fourth with 45 runs batted in batting average though at 209 coming to tonight’s spa game and here’s the next pitch that’s low and away one ball one strike as copyrighted broadcast presented tonight by authority of Angels Baseball may not be reproduced or retransmitted in any form the accounts and descriptions of this game may not be disseminated without the express written consent of Angels Baseball here’s the 1-1 and that’s on the outside corner that’s a called strike talked about Spence his season last year 35 games 24 of those starts 8 and10 record 4.58 RA 151 in a third innings allowed 20 home runs next delivery and he tried to pick away on the outside corner that one missed and four straight sliders i don’t know that we’ve seen a whole lot of cutters yet here in this first inning first pitch of the game I think was a cutter that was it so he’s ready and the next pitch and that one misses up and in and that was a cutter and now the count’s full and you feel you just see how he’s trying to get him out in this at bat with that slider on that outside part of the plate and here’s the deal if you make the mistake over the middle of the plate Taylor Board’s going to hit this hard full count next pitch that’s fouled up on the right side backing out of play right back to that slider and put it in a good spot sair would be up next he was not in the lineup last night in the opener three balls two strikes and here’s the next pitch this is lifted in the air into right center not very deep at all butler is under waiting he’ll one-hand it and that will end the inning angels fail to score in the bottom of the first second is coming up no score at the big A on Angels Radio also available on the Angels radio app moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts went into right down the line it may go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the three-2 and a home run by the Wizards the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means oppo taco a home run hit to the opposite field austin with an oppo taco his 13th and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com sunny afternoons and baseball let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means ao second inning we go scoreless so far here at the Big A soraniano getting ready to work he only threw nine pitches retiring three in a row in the first inning tonight he’s ready to face the rookie Nick Herz and he takes that one for a called strike the top of the second presented by Hyatt Vacation Club enjoy a 4-day threeight resort getaway from six beautiful locations call 8664408783 to learn more next delivery is in there and it’s 0 and2 on Curts gave him a sinker and one there at 98 starts just about the height of the knees and worked his way right out of the strike zone two strike pitch he hits this one on the ground on the right side stopped there by Kingry and the throw is just in time to get hurt tingry with some good range going to his right to stop that one not too far from the second base bag hey he catches this does the hard part gets it on that backhand and then bobbles it coming out of the glove but stays with it and still on the run going away from his target able to get Curts maxy will be the batter he had a pair of hits last night including his fourth homer of the season and he swings and misses that one for strike one so is pumping it in there tonight that last one at 99 and there’s a chase and a miss sinker at 99 soraniano’s fast ball is third best in the majors paul Skains 98 his average fast ball derek Scubel his is 97.7 and Soraniano’s is 97.1 here’s the next pitch a little chopper fouled off back behind the plate 0 and2 is the count yeah so is a guy you would love to have him sit in the box or stand in the batters box and watch him throw to himself to see how difficult and how quick that these hitters have to make up their mind on what you’re going to do in what location here’s the next delivery and that one is low and away after Munyas will follow infield is backed up outfield bunched together a little bit center fielder Adele pretty much straight away pitch missed it’s now two balls and two strikes here’s the delivery and that’s a chase and a miss and he threw that one by him sinker struck him out so that’s the first five in a row retired by Soraniano and what was it last night kikuchi retired the first 13 in a row yes he did gives up that clean hit through the left side and that was it that that was about as good as you could throw right there for us Kikuchi and you just wish that he would have been able to have a chance to finish that pitch count got to him here’s a reus at the plate backed away from a knuckle curve and that one was in there for a called strike that buckled him aras went one for three last night and the next pitch takes that one a little low and away a slider well the Angels bat in the bottom of the second scoreless at the moment solair oh hoppy and Adele against Spence one-1 pitch that’s inside just watching where Logan Hoppy was set up for that last pitch inner third and that ball just moved so quickly off the inside part of the plate two-1 pitch that’s blown away and now the count goes to three and one with the right-handed hitting Aras at the plate neto is playing in the shortstop pole but the second baseman Kinkry is pretty much up the middle here’s the next one and that’s inside so that’s going to be a five pitch walk and the first base runner tonight for the A’s that sinker there at 100 so Austin Wins who they recently picked up he was with the Reds earlier this season he will be the next batter mentioned last night they have Langaliers on the inter list right now so they’re a little bit thin catching wise there’s a pitch on the outside part of the plate that’s in there for a called strike and that walk right there is a two out walk and the Angels have their starters have had issues with two out walks that’s his 14th two out walk this season here’s the pitch and that one bounced in stopped by O’Happy one ball one strike they just got wins a couple days ago and he did get into last night’s game but never batted this is his first at bat with the A’s and when he was with the Reds this season he was hitting .400 he had 16 hits and 40 at bats as a backup catcher here’s the pitch and that’s fouled back behind the plate so one and two is the count talking about those two out walks you Kikuchi’s tied for first with two out walks with 18 jackanowitz has got 16 he’s ti he’s fourth soraniano and Tyler Soraniano now is tied for fifth with that 14th walk and Tyler Anderson’s right there now walks have been a issue no doubt for Angel starters four five guys are in the top 10 two out walks two outs here the counts one and two soraniano’s pitch and a little tapper fouled off over by the batter waiting on deck Max Schuman the start tonight 14th of the year for Soraniano comes in with a four and five record here’s the one two once again and he just got him looking struck him out with a sinker and a pair of strikeouts in the inning and three already in the game for Jose Soraniano we’re headed Let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means oppo taco a home run hit to the opposite field austin with an elbow taco his 13th and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listen to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com it’s a great night for baseball this matchup features some of the best incredible was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahad home run in the first New York Mets home game after 9/11 your moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com memorabilia bid on exclusive items like hats baseballs jerseys and more by visiting angels.com/auctions today jorge Solair will lead it off for the Angels bottom of the second we go scoreless at the big A and the first pitch on Solair he takes that one a little bit low solair’s been bothered by a little bit of a groin issue he did not play in last night’s game he’s playing right field tonight mike Trout has still yet to play in the field since coming off the injured list and there’s a pitch inside and Ron Washington was talking about that a little bit earlier today and saying it’s pretty much Mike on his own timetable right now and Trout’s had some smash the like button on this broadcast it helps us grow and lets more fans like you discover the channel for a while wbc the show keeps going strong thanks to your support we’ll see with the Angels having the upcoming road trip beginning on Friday in Baltimore and that’ll be a seven-game trip if trout sometime during that next road trip starts to play some outfield there’s a pitch that is in the inner uh inside corner for a called strike that was right around the knees hey Ron Washington also said “Hey if Mike Trout DH is the rest of the season then so be it.” Yeah he will let us know when he’s ready to get out there here’s Solair swinging and lifting one high and deep but foul down the left side two and two is the counter’s been stuck on 199 as far as career homers for a while now that had home run distance but it was wave foul there’s one that’s fouled up on the left side let’s pause for station identification on Angels Radio also available on the Angels Radio app los Angeles terry Smith Mark Langston our producer engineer on this Tuesday jorge Sevilla now the catcher winds is going to go out and have a chat with Spence and again this is only win’s second game with the A’s and he was behind the plate for I guess it was an inning last night right so that meeting was short and now winds back behind the plate two two count here on Cer leading off the second and here’s the pitch hits that one sharply and fouled down the left side third baseman Max Muny jumped up tried to spear that one but out of his reach and then it landed foul bottom of the second inning it’s being brought to you tonight by Kors Light kors Light choose Chill and the 2-2 once again that was a close one there a little check on the swing and it’s a bit low full count three and two yeah that sinker at 95 and that is right where Spence will top out here’s the payoff pitch and this one is drilled out into left center but there waiting making the catch is Denzel Clark the center fielder at South number one so there hit it hard but routine play really good at bat ninth pitch at bat right there for Solair we saw that it not only did Denzel Clark make that maybe a once in a-lifetime grab out there in center field everything in the air his jump was perfect he had to make two other pretty good catches that he did easily at the plate is Oh and he fouls that one back oh Hoppy was not in the lineup last night he’s having a tough month of June at the plate here comes the 01 pitch on Logan Hoppy grounds this one sharply but right at the third baseman muny goes down to stop it his throw a little bit high but handled by Curts the first baseman big target over there that’ll be the second out oh now just one for his last 22 and here in June hitting 048 coming into the ball game vance book your escape the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino see Dustin Lynch Public Demon Enemy Cool Gang Daryl Hall and more visit fantasypes Resort.com for tickets and details here’s Joe Adele at the plate and the pitch on Adele and that one comes in and it gets a piece of Joe Adele boy Adele is getting hit by a lot of pitches lately and that’s the seventh time this year he’s been hit by a pitch yeah that’s what catches him in the ribs misses hitting that elbow pad catches gets him right in the ribs well here’s what happens when you start hitting the ball out of the ballpark like Joe Adell is doing they are going to pitch you inside they don’t want you to get your arms extended so you’re going to see some stuff to try to push you off the plate to open that outside corner up and certainly for Mitch Spence the bulk of what he’s going to do tonight is going to be on the opposite side of the where you stand in that batter’s box so here’s Ren Heo stepping up two out of Dell over there at first base and here’s the pitch and that one is a pitch in there for a called strike mentioning Angel batters getting hit last night chris Taylor got hit on the left hand and then today we find out he fractured the left hand he was placed on the injured list today yep stayed in the game here’s the pitch grounded right to the first baseman curts has it and he’s right next to the bag he fumbled it picks it back up and just touches first base unassisted play will end the inning angels also today activated take a hack at guessing about our youth baseball and softball camps today that’s angels.com/camps third inning baseball and the first batter for the A’s is Max Schuman he’s playing shortstop for them tonight jacob Wilson was in their original starting lineup and then he was scratched and here’s a high hopper hit to the first baseman shawell Fields flips to Soraniano covering the bag and they hit the out on Schuman on one pitch 3-1 on the ground out and here is Denzel Clark their center fielder who made that spectacular catch there rob Shoel the home run in the first inning last night already four ground outs for Sorano first eight guys here’s the pitch on its way and that’s on the outside part of the plate found out today that Denzel Clark was a big Albert Buho fan growing up in the Toronto area and the pitch on its way and he got interested in baseball from getting to know the Naylor brothers Josh and Bo Naylor and he said they were very instrumental in kind of pushing him to uh take up baseball and still has close friendship with that family here’s the pitch that’s on the outside corner and 02 and he goes down quickly frozen on that sinker struck him out looking and that’s out number two that last one 99 catches a lot of the play but it’s got some serious VO behind it and he just could not pull the trigger so Soraniano so far in this ball game has picked up four strikeouts against the first nine batters he’s only allowed one base runner that was a two out block last inning the pitch is in there on Butler torio looks a lot better tonight than his last start and that was a ball game on the recent road trip when he struggled at Fenway Park and Fenway just nothing was working for him was trying everything couldn’t land his curveball couldn’t land a sinker nothing was in play there’s a little tapper rolling foul on the first base side this top of the third inning scoreless at the moment presented by Modello brewed with the finest ingredients for a taste that’s pure gold zoraniano getting a new baseball Angels and the Halo step up in the bottom of this inning it’ll be Kingsbury Neto and Shadowell 91 and two and here’s the pitch that’s a little bit low and inside on Lawrence Butler nick’s delivery swings at it lifts it foul over on the left side that’s going to push back out of play lawrence Butler a former second round pick of the A’s that was back in 2016 it’s in the first year of a 7-year 65.5 million deal here’s the next pitch and he takes that one low full count three and two he got Butler in that first step out bat on a good sinker 98 just off that outside corner and the payoff pitch tapped on the first base side fair ball shawell will solo to the bag and just like that the inning is over another ground out and a clean inning for Soraniano as he sets him down take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a of his Angel jersey and here comes the pitch swings at it and lifts it foul on the right side back and out of play bottom of the third it’s being presented tonight by OG’s Pizza yeah some guys like the challenge of the number 13 yes I guess would fit that description omar Viscell were 13 there’s a wave and a miss and it wasn’t lucky that time as Kry goes down swinging struck him out so that is strikeout number two tonight for Spence and Zack Pedto will be stepping up here’s the pitch and there’s a chase and a miss was a first pitch slider all right n would like to get that one back that’s the one that just spins right towards the middle of the play but looked like he was enjoying the game subscribe and hit the bell bell so you never miss an MLB broadcast we go live every day wbc the show the sports channel that belongs to God folded hands thanks for being part of the road to 100K neto is first time up bounce one to second and here comes the pitch he takes sets on the outside part of the plate a little bit earlier tonight we had some entre brought up to our booth from Crafty Mac and Mash they have a couple locations here at the Big A sections 114 and so section 237 there’s a pitch that misses low they have specialty bowls with your choice of mac and cheese base or a baked potato base i had a chance to have the baked potato base tonight topped with chicken and it was delicious those things disappeared really quick there’s a pitch that misses low and outside so it’s a nice little pregame snack or meal whichever you want to call it and we want to remind you next time you’re at the Big A visit Crafty Mac and Mash head to sections 114 and 237 the next time you’re here at the Big A and sample all the good food two and two is the count here on Zack Neto zach Nettle getting a lot of off speed in this at bat the last one was incredible again and he just barely got a piece of it to keep the atbat alive back in the box and here’s the next pitch he pops one in the shallow right it’s going to drop in went the opposite way on that one and Neto is on with a one out single neto got some good news before the ball game there was an official scoring change that benefited him and that was back to the Seattle series game one of that series and that was the lead off the bottom of the first that right ground ball that ruled an error that got overturned to a hit so here is Showell digging in neto looked like he was going to go then put on the brakes and the first pitch taken for a ball the other thing we found out it was earlier today it was stated when the game ended last night that Kenley Jansen got a save in the uh bottom of the ninth inning and that was overturned this one lifted into right field and under making the grab on that one is Lawrence Butler shaell retired that’s his second out in the inning and even though Jansen came in last night with the Angels having only a three-run lead and there were two outs and no one on base he got the final out he was not credited and rightfully so as it turned out he was not credited with a save in that game and that kind of raised some eyebrows but checking the rule book oh we we were all over that rule book after that game ended last night here’s the pitch on its way and that went on trout misses for a ball one ball no strike so Jansen is 14 for 14 and save opportunities y we’re just so used to that coming in in that situation it’s a three-run lead you didn’t really pick it apart once you did you went “Uh-oh.” Here goes Neto and the pitch it was taken the throw to second and Neto might have come off the bag there it looked like he might have had that one stolen but might have had the hand come off the bag angels are pondering a challenge let’s see if the Angels will do that or not take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this and crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the 3-2 and a home run by the Wizards crazy catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com head to the big A on Saturday June 21st for the second bobblehead giveaway of the season the first 25,000 fans in attendance will receive a Nolan Shauna bobblehead courtesy of Circle K visit angels.com/promotions today will lead it off for the A’s it’s a scoreless game we start the fourth inning and the first pitch on their DH he takes that one for a ball rooker Soderstrom and Curts will be the batters here’s the next delivery and that’s a little low and in two balls and no strikes the top of the fourth inning being brought to you tonight by Kettle One Vodka smooth tasting and made to cocktail and the next pitch that’s right in there for a called strike we’ll have this date in Angel’s history coming up in just a moment it’s brought to you by Sports Illustrated tickets 50 million sports concert and theater tickets same seats better prices visit sit.com today and here’s one that’s bounced to third and fielded by Renipo and he will throw out Rooker and that’s the first out in the fourth inning it was on this date in Angels history June 1997 so 28 years ago today that Jim Edmonds made one of the most spectacular catches in Angels history at Kansas City as he went diving toward the fence in straightaway center field with his back to home plate and made that diving catch and ironically that happens uh one day as far as the date is concerned after that spectacular catch we saw last night by Denzel Clark and that one by Jim Edmonds what did I say 20 years 28 years ago today they’re still showing that oh yeah all the time so I was in the You’ll see that 28 years from now I’m sure i was in the dugout for Jimmy Edmonds and that was unbelievable that ball was smoked and Jimmy was so good you talk about jumps jimmy Edmonds got about as good a jump as any wasn’t the fastest guy on the field but his jumps were second to nobody now there’s a wave and a miss by Soderstrom on a one-two pitch and he is a strikeout victim so Soraniano is mulling him down and the thing about that catch for Jimmy Edmonds that thing was directly over his head and he just turned his back and started running right the center field wall and he’s looking straight over his head and just lays out for it catches it slides onto the warning track it was unbelievable yep it truly was one of the best catch and they they were putting that together with Willie May’s catch in the World Series right when he had a run and he caught that ball over his head there’s a chase and a miss by Nick Herz on an 01 pitch and Zoraniano quickly has the count go to nothing and two on their cleanup batter he grounded out his first time up and asked for time as he moved away from the batter’s box now he’s back in there here’s Soraniano’s delivery and that one is chopped foul and BS hit it off his foot or leg he’s hobbling around outside the batter circle they’re y coming out of the dugout to check him out he kind of put his hand up to say I’m going to be okay oh right off that right instep that right foot and he does not wear any shinuards or anything and that last pitch was 99 just redirected right to his foot so Kirks appears to staying in this ball game he’s moving back to the batter circle now angels in the bottom of the fourth the Angels will have Trout Ward and Solair trout was batting when Neto was thrown out trying to steal in the bottom of the third for the final out in the inning two strikes to count on Nick Curts and the next pitch way outside it has not taken Curts a long time to get to the big leagues he was the A’s number one pick fourth overall in last July’s amateur draft here’s the next delivery and it’s a swing and a miss gruck him out and the inning is over back-to-back strikeouts wrap up the inning in six already in the ball game it’s a great night for baseball this matchup features some of the best talent in the game a lot of power a lot of marquee names here we go buckle up for There’s a guy want to be in spotlight the bats have come up and showstoppers we’re just playing power ball this place doesn’t know what these teams are entertaining the show continues experience gametoame coverage of the night’s biggest moments live and commercial free mlb Network Strike Taco a home run hit to the opposite field with an AO taco his 13th and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com waterfall irresistibly tasty zero sugar crisp refreshing and ice cold is Coke Zero Sugar the best Coke ever try and decide mike Trout leads things off we go to the bottom of the fourth in a scoreless game and Trout takes the first pitch a little bit low and away it’s bottom of the fourth inning it’s being brought to you by J AE Electronics technology to inspire innovation angels no runs two hits the A’s no runs no hits and here’s the next pitch on Trout takes that one was a slider miss two balls no strikes it’s a 200 on its way and that’s in there that was a little cutter but the outside part of the plate were called strike hey look at Mitch Spence’s career numbers against the Angels three and one record 3.46 RA six games four of those starts here’s the next pitch and Trout swings and misses a slider so it’s two and two mike Trout is our player to watch presented by Kettle One Vodka trout hitting 218 as he digs in here 10 homers 25 driven in the 2-2 on its way and he swings at this one with a high drive out there into center field clark has a beat on it though and he will make the catch didn’t have to do anything spectacular that time he was still maybe two three feet from the wall out there in straightaway center trout hit it hard but he’s out number one he was ready and that just got off the barrel that was a little cutter that Trout just missed it so here’s Ward he flyed out to the right fielder Butler for his first time up the pitch this is popped foul right side it’s going to get back and out of play smash that like button on this broadcast it helps us grow and lets more fans like you discover the channel wbc the show keeps going strong thanks to your support high one ball one strike is the count hey look at Taylor Ward’s numbers here at the Big A hitting just 148 coming in this game today five home runs and 16 RBI’s here’s the next pitch and that’s on the outside corner that’s a called strike here’s the one-two delivery that’s way low and outside it misses so a two- two count on Ward with Solair waiting on deck and he swings and fouls it off those Taylor Ward right side back and out of play that’s been two hits so far in this ball game angels have both of them spence is ready and that pitch clock uh close to expiring there just got that pitch off and it missed outside three and two the count boy he worked that to the I don’t He might add a violation there actually three and two is the count and here comes the next one this is hit a mile high into shallow center and Clark is calling everyone off he’s under he’ll make the catch on that one and that’ll be the second out two up two away jorge the next batter spence he’s doing just enough so far in this game changing speeds very well and he’s throwing strikes so his first time up lined out to center and swings and misses at that one for a strike he has yet to homer here in June his last home run was May the 30th and again he’s locked in on 199 career homers and here’s the titch and that’s outside and when you are at a number like that you know you got to be thinking about it don’t you sure if you were trying to get home run number 157 of your career it wouldn’t be the biggest deal but no when you hit those high even numbered uh figures that one uh low away it’s two balls in one strike yeah it definitely you want to get it over with and just move on right certainly it could be a factor that’s why I always I loved Albert albert’s big home runs it seemed like he just knocked them out so fast there’s a pitch that missed inside so a 3-1 count here on Solair with two outs in a scoreless ball game bottom of the fourth the pitch and did he go after that one yes as the first base umpire Gabe Morales so check swing and now it’s a full count that did not look like he went after it so three and two is the count and here’s the delivery and he got him swinging struck him out gave him a slider and that’s how the inning will end and strikeout number three in the game for Spencer take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams the plate 0 and one is the count zoraniano has really looked good the first four innings tonight there’s a swing and a miss and he’s getting some swings and misses tonight the count’s 0 and two he’s retired the last seven in a row 13 out of 14 that he’s faced and they have yet to get a hit their only base runner two out walk to Aria Speck in the second here’s the two strike pitch and that’s a swing and a miss struck him out three straight strikeouts for Soraniano going back to last inning and seven now in the game you can see why he he is pumping it tonight that last one’s at 99 and it’s got late movement to it and he’s just he’ll mix in the curve ball or slider now and then and it’s tough to handle both of those when you got a guy that’s throwing as hard as he is tonight batter now is a rias and here’s the first pitch he’s taking that’s in there soraniano faced the A’s in West Sacramento it was a little less than a month ago on the 19th of May and he went six innings got the win in that game against him he gave up three runs in that game but he has been pumping in strikes here tonight tingry the second baseman plays pretty much up the middle gets in there that’s a called strike and Seraniano jumps in front it’s now one and two yeah just like that you’re you’re hunting fast ball you’re hunting you’re looking for it and all of a sudden he just flips that curveball in there that’s a pitch taken for a ball that’s the difference between what we’ve seen tonight compared to his last start against Bosa where he couldn’t find the strike zone for anything here’s the 2-2 chopped foul over on the right side we’re in the top of the fifth inning scoreless here at the Big A and the top of the fifth presented by your Southern California Toyota dealers seraniano delivers and he moved him off the plate with that one that was up and in and he moved all the way out of the batter circle did Aras so it’s a full count three and two aras just moving back into the batters box now getting set full count payoff pitch got him swinging knuckle curveball he came in off speed struck out the last four in a row wow his careerhigh is nine and he set that earlier this season against the Guardians second start of the year for him so he’s at eight right now with no sign of letting up and here is Austin Wins at the plate and the first pitch he takes it for ball one it’s one ball no strikes these two teams will wrap up this three-game series with a day game tomorrow here at the Big A matt Nay game businessman special first pitch 107 kyle Hendrickx will get the baseball for the Angels and left-hander JP Sears will start for the A’s 101 now the count wins here’s the pitch and that’s fouled back behind the plate now the Chicago White Socks are about to knock off the Houston Astros they’re up four to two in the ninth and the Rangers absolutely pounded the Minnesota Twins tonight there’s a pitch that bounces in and that’s going to get back to the back stop well they win 16-4 tonight that game was in Minneapolis that’s one of those turn a page games right there there’s a swing and a miss at a 22 sinker and the inning is over and Sorano strikes out the side so he’s tied his careerh high with his ninth strikeout and he’s done that in only five innings tonight we are getting ready to go to the bottom of the fifth in a scoreless game on Angels Radio also available on the Angels Radio app your day in baseball starts with MLB Central let’s get it started lead off your morning with in-depth breakdowns perfect balance interviews with the players get back to the fast ball i know what that passion feels like and a little bit behave properly hey everything else the window seats are the baseball day begins with MLB Central weekdays at 10:00 a.m eastern only on York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means oppo taco a home run hit to the opposite field austin with an oppo taco his 13th and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and mlb.com let’s go places logan Oh leads up the Angels bottom of the fifth scoreless ball game at the Big A we’ve got some real good starting pitching so far first pitch on Ohhap that was a slider right in there for a called strike the bottom of the fifth inning it’s being sponsored by Del Taco like to see Hoppy’s bat get going here in the month of June he’s been very quiet and he skies this one in the air not very deep in center field clark is there under he’ll make the catch on that one and Hoppy is retired for the second straight time tonight the last five in a row set down now by Spence these two pitchers you just mentioned are doing it two different directions obviously Spence is more off speed hitting the spots where Soriano’s just got the power stuff tonight here’s Joe Adelli got hit by a pitch his first time up and swings at a slider that was way low and outside but it’s strike one nothing in one the Dell’s had five hits his last 10 times up and here comes the next pitch it’s low one ball one strike talked about the Hayes last night they still have some bats that are on the injured list right now and here’s the pitch and that’s a chase and a miss langelers and and Duhar are sideline right now for them orello was uh playing a lot for them before he went down little hamstring strain last month zack Kellof who was an everyday player for them last year has not played at all yet this season enjoying the game and here’s the pitch subscribe and hit the bell bell so you never miss an MLB broadcast we go live every day wbc the show the sports channel that belongs to God folded hands thanks for being part of the road to 100K 21 yeah yeah but that and that’s kind of what Colorado Rockies were doing yep there’s one fouled off down the right side adele hit it a long way but it’s wave foul still one and two yeah they’ve had an 11ame losing streak they’ve had a nineame losing streak the interesting thing is they’re 10 and 31 with teams that are 500 or better coming into this series and teams that are under 500 they were 16 and 10 now 16 and 11 and there’s the pitch that Adele takes on that one two he is out looking that was a cutter and that’s out number two so two away luis Renipo is the batter and Renifo is another guy who has to get things going here in the month of June he came into the night hitting 143 this month yeah there’s no doubt we have not seen anything from Renifo here’s the first pitch and that’s going to bloop in for a base hit fielded on a hop by the left fielder Soderstrom so Louis on he has a two out single and for the Angels only the second hit for the Angels make a third hit now in the ball game yeah as well as Jose Soraniano is throwing spence is matching him matter now is Scott Kory here’s the pitch on Kry and he takes that one for a ball yeah I’d like to see Kry’s bat jump alive like he was at a triple AAA hitting 370 defensively I like what I see defensively here’s the pitch and he waves and misses that slider he was fooled on that one one ball one strike spence is set and the next pitch that’s a swing and a miss snap throw to first and diving back to the bag and just getting back there safely is Renifo taking a quick look at things here in this ball game neither team has gotten a runner past first base and here we are in the bottom of the fifth so there really haven’t been any scoring opportunities the Hayes have only had one base runner that was a walk in the second inning seraniano is stealing tonight necto tried to steal second back in the bottom of the third but he was thrown out here’s the one two that’s outside and low two and two is the count and that Mitch Spence has done a really nice job of when he’s ahead he tries to get you to chase at that little slider starts it on that outside corner and by time you go off it after it it has already worked its way off that outside corner and you swing right through it or off the end of the bat here’s the next delivery hit sharply but stopped by the third baseman and Muny’s throw a little bit high but keeping the hood on the bag there was Hurts and the Angels are asking for a few seconds here great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts went into it right down the line it may go goes crazy folks goes crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the star of three to two and a home run by the Wizards catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is apoaka do you know what it means taco a home run hit to the opposite field with an elbow taco his 13th and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and mlb.com to steal third at a future Angels game for more info visit Angels on social media see you there we get ready to go to inning number six in a good oldfashioned pitcher duel here at the Big A no runs in the game three hits angels have the three hits seriano working here in the sixth inning now in his first pitch and that one to Max Schuman he takes it for a ball it’s one ball no strikes top of the sixth inning being presented by CocaCola and here’s the next delivery and that pitch taken for ball two it’s two balls no strikes another fast ball 99 here’s Oriano’s delivery that’s nowhere close way outside he’s fallen behind on the first three three and0 facing the bottom part of the batting order here eight nine hitters in the leadoff man butler will be the third batter in the inning here’s the 3 0 pitch right in there that is a sinker 98 mph yeah so’s already got 16 swings and misses in this game tonight this will be his 73rd pitch of the night and that one comes in and that’s going to be ball four that almost hit the batter so that snaps the string at 10 in a row retired it’s only their second base runner and Luke’s gotten on with walks you mentioned it last inning soraniano’s already tied his careerhigh with nine strikeouts seven of the nine have come on that two seamer here’s Denzel Clark he’s around the bunt takes the pitch and then a snap throw by Oh to Chadwell to come off the bag that throw is sailing a little bit in foul territory makes the catch on it no chance to get a tag on the runner Schuman and Schuman will run a little bit he had 14 steals a year ago he’s had three so far this season clark again around a bunt takes that one it caught the outside part of the plate clark has had hits in seven of his last nine games but hitless so far in this series and he was around again and that one misses two and one is the count and the A’s are team they don’t bunt a lot at all they’ve only had four sacrifices this season and a toss over to first from Soraniano and the runner gets back soraniano’s allowed three stolen bases this year had one hot stealing angel’s right-hander behind two balls one strike clark around the bunt and fouls that one back behind the plate so now it’s two and two you wouldn’t think he would be blunting with two strikes if he wants to he can try and that last sanker at 98 tough to bunk that so a 22 count here’s the pitch and he just got a piece of that one with a full swing he fouled it off right in the batters box that was the first time he actually took a swing in in this at bat after squaring around a bun on the other pitches so it’s a 2-2 count and the next delivery and that missed low so Sariano has walked the first batter in this inning and now has run a full count on the second batter in the inning now right here is where you got to trust your stuff let that sinker do its thing just keep it in the middle of the plate it’ll run to the inside part if you let it 32 and he got him looking and he knew it struck him out and he got him on the knuckle curve ball that’s a careerhigh 10 strikeouts for Jos Soraniano tonight yeah that fooled everybody right there including Clark he’s hunting that power sinker gets the curveball that’s a good one catches plenty of the plate lawrence Butler is the batter now and he’s taking the first one it’s one ball no strikes butler has yet to get a hit in this series 0 for four last night 0 for two so far tonight here’s the pitch uh swinging a miss curve ball there and it is that one’s at 88 mph here’s the next pitch and that caught the inside corner one and two is the count on Butler that one’s at 99 on the inside corner brother just steps out and he’s just staring at home plate umpire Andy Fletcher like come on and that did catch the inside corner so Soraniano has him down one and two here comes the pitch that’s lying down the left side and that is a foul ball just foul down that left side that would have been trouble had that ball been fair because Schuman can run probably less than a foot and that’s was a slider on that outside part of the plate butler is such a good hitter and we’ll go the other way with it so it’s still a one-two count here on Lawrence Butler and the next pitch he waves at that one he struck them out on a sinker boy he made him look bad on that swing strike out number 11 in the game well he showed him the same location but this one is 98 instead of the 98 88 slider on the outside gives him 98 on the outside and Butler as you mentioned defensive swing 11 of the 17 outs for Soraniano have been strikeouts here’s the pitch and there’s a foul tip of the batter rooker right to Hoppy nothing and one is the count soraniano is set and the next pitch this is lifted in the air into center field chasing as Joe Adell still chasing make the catch the ball bounces off the wall coming home is going to be Schuman and it’s one- nothing Hayes adele went after that one and just never quite got there to make the grab on it yeah he was closing the gap you thought he was going to get to it when this left the bat you thought nope he wasn’t going to get to this and at the last second oh it just eludes him by less than a foot at least he lays out for it so close and that was a slider unfortunately up in the zone so the first hit in the game for the A’s drives in a run man bad luck for the Angels you were hoping that one to hit the warning track and bounce over the fence but it hits the top of the fence in Carums and Taylor Ward’s the one that has to get it and get it in and certainly Schuman has plenty of speed to score from first on that red Rooker with that double his first hit in the series and again up until that hit there had not been a single runner get past first base for either team in this smash that like button on this broadcast it helps us grow and lets more fans like you discover the channel wbc the show keeps going strong thanks to your support so locked in like Soriano had not allowed a hit and you give up that hit your your brain can scramble real fast and I like that Oh hoppy went out there and tried to get him back focused saying “Hey let’s go back to work here.” Counts one and0 on Soderstrom here’s the delivery and that’s right in there for a called strike the A’s have some action in their bullpen so we’ll see if Spences out the pitch in the sixth inning this is only his second start after a lot of relief appearances this season there’s a pitch in there for a strike it’s now one and two here’s the delivery and that’s a bouncer hit on an easy hop to second stop there by Kingry he will throw out Soderstrom and the inning will end on a 4-3 ground out but the A’s break the ice they score in the six they have a one- nothing lead as we Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means ao taco a home run hit to the opposite field expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and mlb.com your day in baseball starts with MLB moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts went into right down the line it may go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the start of three to two and a home run by the Wizards catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com performance will vary based on usage and configuration first batter for the Angels as we get ready for the bottom of the sixth inning zack Neto Michael Kelly is the new pitcher so the night is over for Mitch Spence who’s their pitcher of record as Neto swings at this one hits a ball well down the right field corner it’s out near the short wall and that ball’s going to bounce off the wall and Neto will cruise in a second and he is there with a double almost got that one out down in that right field corner i’ll tell you what Lawrence Butler is fortunate this one hits off the the pad down in that corner misses a home run by less than a foot and it cars right to him this could have shot a million different ways and it went right to him that gets by him that might have been in the inside the Parker for Zach Neto so here is Shadowell that ball ends up going 339 it’s 350 right in that corner down it’s actually less than that right at the pole yeah it’s around 3:30 at the pole and it wasn’t quite that far in the corner there one ball no strikes is the count here on Showell and the pitch and that is in there for called strike that’s pause for station identification on Angels Radio also available on the Angels Radio appa Orange County Los Angeles and Inland Empire terry Smith Mark Langston our producer engineer on this Tuesday is Jorge Sevilla as Shadowwell fouls one back just below us out of play you look at last night’s game zack Neto two for four an RBI shawell two for four with an RBI and you look at on this home stand coming in this game tonight on this home stand Neto was hitting .294 5 for 17 chowell was hitting .294 5 for 17 and it doesn’t stop there ter there’s behind the What’s the rest of the story the rest of the story is here at the Big A coming into this game tonight Neta was hitting 242 shaw was hitting 242 that’s all I got lot of similarities yes the dynamic duel yeah here’s the one two and that’s fouled off right over by the Aison on deck circle we’re in the bottom of the sixth inning the Angels are down one to nothing the bottom of the six being brought to you by United Airlines and we want to remind you the power of the lineup it’s presented tonight by Just Ingredients real Food Better Health the hit here could tie it up here’s the pitch grounded sharply but foul over on the right side michael Kelly who’s pitching as a former first round pick of the Padres’s way back though in 2011 and he was a guy that was on the restricted list and then served a one-year MLB suspension for gambling on major league games and that was back in 2021 he served that one-year suspension last year 28 games in the big leagues 3-2 record was very good 2.59 here’s the pitch and that one misses low so the count is now full three and two kelly a 32year-old right-hander and here’s the 3-2 payoff pitch that one is grounded foul on the right side this is just Kelly’s third game with the A’s this season but only pitched an inning and two/3 coming into tonight’s zero erra well the White Socks did knock off the Houston Astros tonight 4-2 a chance to gain on the division leaders there’s one that’s grounded foul long at bat here for Shadowell keeps fouling off two strike pitches yeah nine pitch at bat already so it’s holding at three balls and two strikes another payoff pitch and that’s low he walked them that was a real good at bat right there for Shadowell really good 10 pitch at bat right there and that walk is the first one tonight by an Angel and that is presented by Johnny Walker keep walking austin wins goes out to have a visit with Kelly fans catch your angels on FanDuel Sports Network stream now at fan duelportsetwork.com well the gathering at the mound wraps up batter is Mike Trout who’s 0 for two tonight drove in a pair of runs in last night’s game for the Angels had an RBI hit and a sack fly here’s the pitch takes that one for strike one well he throws that pitch again angels are going to put some runs on the board that was a sweeper right in the middle of the plate oh one pitch and Trout takes that one that was another sweeper pitch missed one ball one strike no outs in the inning two on here’s the pitch trout with a ground ball that’s hit to third putting his foot on the bag is the third baseman and the throw to first is going to get Trout boy that was a nice play by Muny right there a double play on that one off the bat of Trout it’s a really nice play he’s got to wait for this hop and it is right by that third base bag muny just steps on the bag fires across trout’s not flying down that first base line and like we normally see him he’s just running and he’s been told “Don’t do anything to where you’re going to end up on the injured list again.” And usually there’s just no chance he would have been able to double up trout and that one there they did so the meeting is over at the mound and now the Angels need a two out hit from Taylor Ward showell is the runner at second ward is still looking for his first hit in this A’s series 0 for two tonight 0 for six in the series angels top RBI man at the plate one of the best in the American League so far this season the first pitch misses for a ball that counts one ball no strikes let’s pitch on Ward that’s low and outside two and0 the count kelly is set the big right-handers pitch that’s on the outside corner for a called strike there’s the delivery that’s low and away so the count goes to three and one yeah the first three pitches all sliders that one just an overcooked fastball waiting on deck would be Salair and the next pitch and that’s low and Solair is going to get an at bat here with a five pitch walk to Taylor Ward so Kelly hasn’t pitched that well at all in this inning he’s walked two he’s given up a double angels still haven’t scored though he got that double play ball turned behind him in the inning and here’s Cairer who’s had an 0 for two night and Kelly came in to start off this inning replacing Spence the call to the bullpen presented by CocaCola for freshman for the Halos and the first pitch misses on Solair it’s one ball no strikes soler continues to see a steady diet of sliders on that outside part of the plate austin Winds flashing some signals to his infielders they are playing it backed up field pretty much straight away they’re playing pretty deep in the outfield pitch on swings at this one and pops it in the air very shallow right center coming in is Butler he will call up the second baseman Aras and make the catch in shallow right center the inning is over angels had a golden opportunity in the inning had the leadoff double moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith corks went into right down the line it may go go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the star of three to two and a home run by the belongs to God thanks for being part of the road to 100K fans must purchase through angels.com/heritage to receive their special jersey we go to the seventh inning jose Soraniano will continue in this spa game thrown 91 pitches so far tonight and the first one on Nick Curts it’s a ball it’s one ball no strikes curts Muny and four five and six middle third of the batting order and the next pitch he thought about chasing that one to Curts and it’s in there for a strike one and one here’s the delivery and that’s a foul tip one ball two strikes wow i think that’s a thumb buster right there on Logan Oppoy he shook his glove after that last 97 mph sinker and he just he caught that one wrong and you that will blow your thumb right up here’s the next pitch two strike delivery that’s outside sinker at 97 seraniano has thrown hard tonight has been really impressive but on the short end of the scoreboard right now next delivery this is lifted in the air into left field taylor Ward is chasing it’s going to go over his head and the ball bounces off the fence out there and stopping at second base is Curts with a leadoff double ward never got back to the fence on that one and he gave up on it early i thought well he stopped running i thought this ball’s certainly going to carry him off the wall no it hits on the warning track he gives up on this ball and he’s not even in the right vicinity that ball was to his left so now Muny’s at the plate the Angels are thinking he’ll be bunning they’re in at the corners and he is around a bunt and ends up taking it then a snap throw to second by Oh neto catches it in front of the bag it’s one ball no strikes on Muny 0 for two tonight against Soraniano zeraniano has a career-high 11 strikeouts struck out seven of the nine hitters in their lineup has pitched brilliantly he’s allowed only two hits in the game but he’s down one- nothing here in the seventh there’s a bunch and it’s missed by Muny for strike one one ball one strike the top of the seventh brought to you tonight by ResortsWorld Las Vegas visit rwl vegas.com to book your fabulous hotel stay that last pitch number 98 of the night for Soraniano so we’re getting close to the end here here’s the pitch and that’s a one try right there that’s fouled off one and two is the count and that ended in fair territory but it hit the ground and came back up and hit his bat again one ball two strikes boy say Showell still they still think he’s going to bunt yeah with two strikes and he’s in as well no sign of it he swings and misses that pitch struck him out for the third straight time tonight 12 strikeouts for Soraniano oh 98 just thrown right by Muny the drop on that pitch was fantastic right there this is what he’s truly capable of doing he’s not been a big strikeout guy in his career at all but he does have the ability on nights like this when he’s commanding that fast ball he’s got a secondary pitches that curveball’s landing throwing some good sliders here’s the pitch on its way to Aras he’s taking and that was a sinker at 97 a called strike that last pitch number 101 of the night marse yelling at the home plate umpire Andy Fletcher 0 and one is the count next pitch and that’s low as good as Sorano’s control has been tonight somewhat ironic that the one runner that has scored in this entire game was a batter that he walked yep because he hasn’t really been walking many he’s only issued two in the game that was a five pitch walk too here’s the pitch and that’s a swing and a miss so the counts one and two on Aras who circles around the batter circle before moving back into the batters box right-handed hitter he’s had 22 swings and misses tonight you’re you’re getting into elite territory here there’s a chance for another strikeout here’s the two strike pitch this is grounded down to third stopped there by Reano gets the runner to go back to second and throws out Aras 53 on the ground out two outs here in the top of the seventh and Austin wins who’s been a strikeout victim is two times up he’ll be the next batter in Ron Washington with Serrianiano having thrown 104 pitches now he’s going to go out to the mound yeah he’s going to push him through this i guarantee you he’s not going to take him out this is that conversation do you still have anything left in the tank you got two outs i’m gonna give you one more hitter finish this guy off get out of this inning and that win’s going to come your way and sure enough yeah no move yep that was a pumpup speech right there saying you’ve got one more hitter take care of business here and this is a guy that he’s handled the times he’s faced him tonight with strikeouts winds moving into the batters box when the Angels step up in the bottom of the seventh oh hoppy Adele and Renhifo see if the A’s continue with Kelly they’re both kind of quiet right now here’s the pitch on wins a swing and a miss chase the sinker 0 and one the count here’s the next pitch a 01 that’s a little bit low one ball one strike rooker who’s driven in the only run in this game and Schuman who’s waiting on deck he scored the only run in the game are the only two A’s batters who have not struck out against Oriano tonight here’s the pitch and that’s low two balls one strike interestingly he’s only thrown his fast balls two in the strike zone 65% of the times he’s gotten them to chase that one just out of the strike zone all night long counts two and one here’s the next pitch and that’s low three and one and if he walks wins i don’t know if Ron Washington’s going to let him face another batter here i agree he’s at 108 that’s a season high for him so we’ll see if he can get the final out here’s the pitch and that’s in there came in with a sinker 96 out to full count now this is where you want Logan Nohppy whatever pitch they decide on give them the fist like you’ve got it finish this off right here soraniano is ready it’s a full count runner at second and the payoff delivery and it’s bounced over the mound but near second handled there by King he’ll throw him out and Sorano gets out of the mild trouble here they leave a runner at second base the bottom of the seventh coming up seventh inning stretch time angels down by a run one- nothing on Angels Radio moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts one in right down the line it may go crazy folks go get your seats today logan O’H is the first batter we start the bottom of the seventh angels down one- nothing and the first pitch in there for a called strike the bottom of the seventh being brought to you by StubHub he’s have a run on two hits angels no runs four hits oh hoppy tonight ground out on a fly out and lines this one and it’s caught by the second baseman Aras on the outfield grass pretty much straight away just a little bit to the right of the second base bag he had a real good read on that one to make the catch that ball would not have been caught by Clark the center fielder no no this was off the very end of the bat and you thought this is a hit for sure but good jump on that one joe Adell is the batter and he swings at the pitch and fouls it back behind home angels have Reed Detmer’s getting loose what a great job by Jose Soraniano his night is going to be over ends up with 110 pitches but careerhigh 12 strikeouts there’s a pitch that is in there for a called strike the count now nothing and two and Ron Washington gave him a chance to get out of that inning now you hope the Angels offense can respond here next one on to Dell swings at it and fouls it off to our right back and out of play still no balls and two strikes nadell checking on that pitch and they say he was holding fans experience Angels baseball with the friends and family fun pack for only $44 get four tickets four hot dogs and four soft drinks call 7144 Angels or visit angels.com/funpack here’s the next delivery that misses low and inside two and two is the count red Ho waiting on deck and the next deliverious is hit pretty well out into right field going back on that one and on the warning track making the catch is Lawrence Butler just gathered that one in down that right side a little bit to the left of the short wall caught it in front of the 365 sign where the ball gets higher yeah boy that ball it jumps off the bat of Joe right now that when it first was hit I thought it was going to be a fairly routine play but once you saw Lawrence Butler turning around and going headed to the warning track you knew it was hit a lot better than that there’s a pitch that was taken by Ren Heo for ball one it’s one ball no strikes a have a one- nothing lead angels batting two outs no one on here in the bottom of the seventh and the pitch and that one is fouled back fans the seventh inning stretch is presented by JMG Security Systems little bit earlier today here at the Big A the Angels had a workout for the son of a former Angel player Eli Willlet who is expected to be a very high first round pick in the July draft son of former Angel Reggie Willlets he worked out for the Angels today he’s an infielder a shorts stop he’s only 17 years old but some one that obviously is on the Angels radar screen here’s one that’s chopped to second that’s handled there by Aras and the throw is going to be in time as Ramifo and the Angels go down quietly here against Kelly in the bottom of the seventh we’re headed smash the like button on this broadcast it helps us grow and lets more fans like you discover the channel the following WBC the show keeps going strong thanks to your Combine June 17th at noon Eastern only on MLB Network but made to cocktail and proud partner of Angels Baseball angels bring in their first reliever of the night and it’s Hunter Strickland here are the numbers on the starter Jose Soraniano who cannot be a winner and right now he’s on the hook for a loss soraniano threw 110 pitches 71 for strikes seven innings two hits a run it was earned two walks career-high 12 strikeouts and now Strickland gets ready to work here in the eighth inning and faces Max Schuman the shortstop and the first pitch he takes it inside it’s one ball no strikes yeah what a fantastic start by Soraniano following up what we saw last night from Usay Kikuchi when seven and a third of shutout baseball just gave up one hit tonight soraniano gives up two hits but it’s the only run right now on the board for the A’s pitch was fouled off on the right side back and out of play the Angels call to the bullpin brought to you by Cox Mobile the smart way to mobile next delivery that’s outside two and one schuman has scored the game’s only run he blocked leading off the top of the sixth inning and then after a couple of strikeouts and two outs in the inning Rooker doubled him in and here he bloops one down the right side that’s a fair ball it’s going to drop in for a hit solair just getting to the ball and he will not get a throw to second base so that’s going to be a hustle double by Schuman who has speed and he is in scoring position to start off the eighth inning yeah it’s unfortunate that Solair is not moving great and you can see he just there’s not he can’t do anything about it trying to get to this baseball but cannot get it schuman runs well enough now clark back up there again and again the Angels already in at the corners thinking he’s going to try to bunt try to bunt earlier in this game strickland taking some time and his pitch around a bunt and popping it up is Clark ball stopped on a hop by Oh throws to third and out at third base is Schuman well Schuman was kind of caught in no man’s land once that blunt popped up he wasn’t sure if one of the Angels were going to catch it whether it would be Oh Hoppy or Strickland or even Showell who was breaking in from first and that was a heads up play by Oh to get that lead runner at third base yeah when he comes out he takes a quick peek to see what is going on schuman is so far out so then you start to run at him you’re going to start pushing him back towards the second base bag schuman starts to run towards third base gives up the ball quickly reneifo plenty of time puts the tag on him nice defensive play right there by Logan O’Hap so Clark’s the runner over at first base he gets on on the fielders choice you don’t see too many two five fielders choices that’s what happened on the bunt that Clark popped up in front of the plate i thought somebody was going to pick that in the air but it actually turns out better now there’s a pickoff toss by Strickland and back to the bag goes Denzel Clark he’s three for three in stolen base tries butler awaits the 10 here it comes a swing and a miss good slider right there by Strickland strickland is set next pitch a swing and a miss boy Butler’s taking a couple of one-handed swings here fooled by Strickland and deep in the hole one and two fans the first 25,000 fans in attendance on Friday June 20th will take home a City Connect tank top jersey courtesy of Discount Tire and Service Centers visit angels.com/promotions one ball two strikes leto shaded near the second base bag here’s the next pitch that’s low as top of the eighth inning he’s up one to nothing it’s presented by Nike buck’s got three bags this season already but he doesn’t have a real big lead at first base angels have Brock Burke up in the bullpen the left-hander here’s the next pitch that’s fourack up the screen behind home plate yeah they had Reed Demer’s throwing in between the inning i thought Reed Demer might be the guy coming in strickland was also out there throwing washington going with Strickland a have three left-handed hitters in their lineup tonight and two of them are bunched together in the lineup in the three and four holes here’s the next pitch this is a little pop into shallow right field it’s caught there by Solair fires the first and diving back to the bag safely is Clark so Solair was able to come in ball was not hit very deep at all that that was a really nice play when that first left the bat it’s a jam shot so you automatically think that’s going to fall and Soler read that really well and was able to make that play easily that’s his first put out tonight a lot of strikeouts along the way been a quiet night for most of the Angels fielders here’s the pitch and that’s a chase and a miss by Rooker he’s doubled in the only run in the game that was back in the top of the sixth 0 and1 the count on him and Soraniano ended up with 23 swings and misses here’s the pitch that’s chopped foul third base side it’s now 0 and2 and we get to the bottom of the eighth kangri is slated to lead the inning off then the top of the order needto and Shadowell Strickland with 13 pitches here in the eighth inning and the next one this is hit hard into left field but there is Ward to make the catch initially he broke in then had to put the brakes on and move back ball was hit sharply the inning is over on the liner the big hits all the great brats you got to be kidding me and all the swagger relive the day’s biggest plays all in one lightning fast hour show you better believe it quick pitch late nights and Angels knocked him around last night first pitch to Mike Trouty took a check swing and fouls that one back behind the plate ferguson came into last night’s game in the bottom of the eighth inning and gave up three hits and three runs hit a batter also walked the batter so they’ve brought him back in the pitch in the eighth inning again tonight and there’s a chase and a miss and the count jumps to 0 and2 on Mike Trout ferguson’s erra this season is over five right-hander is ready and the next pitch that one misses low and outside now it’s one and two on Mike Trout ferguson has a pretty good fast ball will throw a sweeper as well here’s the next pitch trout hits one high and hanging up not very deep at all in right center and Clark is there to put it away easy play two outs here in the bottom of the eighth trout hitting a mile in the air just gets underneath it soon as he makes contact he puts his head down he knows that he missed it that fast catches the middle of the plate to the Angels number seven Angels have Kenley Jansen warming up batter now is Taylor Ward with two outs bottom of the eighth 1-1 and Showell the runner at first the pitch in there for a called strike this bottom of the eighth inning presented tonight by Farmers and Merchants Bank infielders backed up with two outs outfield straight away ward taking in and that pitch in there for a called strike 0 for two night for Ward with a walk just three for his last 26 now at the plate still looking for his first hit in this A’s series the pitch and he looked that one over it was inside it missed one and two solair waits on deck there goes Shadowell the pitch hits low the throw to second and it’s late shadowell steals second base so that’s his third stolen base of the season once again you don’t pay attention to him look at him you don’t think there there’s any shot he’s going to go gets a tremendous jump still second base in last night’s game in the bottom of the third inning that stolen base is presented by Don Julio Tequila here’s the pitch ward swings and misses that 22 struck him out and that’s how the inning will end that was a sweeper and the Angels have to settle for the one run on the leadoff pinch hit homer by Darno here in the bottom of the eighth the ninth is coming up it’s 1-1 the big hits all the great brats you got to be kidding me and all the swagger relive the day’s biggest these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com the Angels have brought in Henley Jansen and he got the final out in last night’s ball game he will immediately become the pitcher of record in this game and the Angels have made some moves defensively as Kry was pinched hit for in the bottom of the eighth inning so the new second baseman is Luis Renifo he was over at third he moves to second here’s the pitch from Jansen and that one is low on Soderstrom for ball one it’s one ball no strikes taking over for Ren Heo who was at third is now Kevin Newman and here’s the next pitch hopped foul left side that’s going to get back in out of play jensen is the second reliever of the night for the Angels we saw Strickland pitch in the eighth inning and he retired three of the four batters that he faced and there’s a chase and a miss big cut at that one by Soderstrom one and two is the count jansen ready here’s the one-two pitch lifted in the air foul down the left side that’s going to push back to the seats the attendance tonight 27,480 27480 here at the Big A sodtostrom in his career 0 for two with two strikeouts against Kenley Jansen next pitch and that’s lined into right field that’s going to drop in and roll right to Solair he hardly had a move and that is a leadoff single so the potential go ahead run on at first base to start things off here in the ninth inning for the A’s fans this Father’s Day at Angel Stadium play catch in the outfield take swings enjoy food in the Alexis Diamond Club and a chance to meet Angels alum visit angels.com/dadsday for details here’s Nick Curts at the plate big left-handed hitter with power first pitch that’s high and away angels left side of the infield newman the third baseman is playing in the shortstop hole and the shorts stop Netto is pretty much up the middle just a little bit to the left of that second base bag toss over to first diving back to the bag goes Sodor Strumm not a big stolen base threat with Kenley Jansen on the mound though everybody’s a stolen base threat he is so slow to home plate so Jansen ready here’s the pitch and this is popped in the air into left center field it’s hanging up for Ward and he will make the catch on that one and runner has to hold at first base one away here in the ninth looks like Kirk just gets underneath that much like what we saw with Mike Trout gets it a mile in the air so the batter now is Muny and he never did figure out Soraniano tonight he was up three times with three strikeouts it was a toss over to first base and Soder Strom had a dive back on that one so Chansson’s making him think about how big a lead he’s going to get over there at first base yeah Kennley’s allowed seven stolen bases this year here’s the pitch and that’s in there for a called strike we’re in the top of the ninth angels have a run on six hits the A’s have a run on four hits the top of the ninth inning it’s presented by Bullet Frontier Whiskey here’s the one strike pitch a chase and a miss and that was a slider the cutter yeah rare see a slider from Kelly Jansen so he’s way in front on my 0 and two the count on a batter who has struck out three times tonight here’s the next pitch low and in the Angels can win this ball game they would pick up a full game on the Astros and the Angels would be only four out of first place seattle’s getting hammered by the Diamondbacks they are there’s a routine fly ball hit to right center and under making the grab on that one is Salair dodgers are getting blanked in San Diego tonight looked like it was nine to nothing in the seventh inning yeah that’s a good little series between the Padres’s and the Dodgers dodgers took round one that’s the first time those two teams had met was last night andre is only two games out of first going into the night and the Giants are a game and a half out of first going into the night so things have tightened up a little bit at West yeah the Dodgers hit the speed bump so the batter is Aras with two outs and the first pitch on the outside corner for a called strike when we get to the bottom of the ninth inning the Angels will have Solair Hoppy and Adele scheduled we’ll see if the Angels face Mason Miller the A’s closer there’s a pitch that is taken and the count’s level it’s now one ball one strike he is up and throwing and he has some high octane that he brings to the M when he pitches yeah most teams don’t like to bring their closer in on the road unless they’re trying to close the game out here’s the pitch this is popped high in the air foul over by the A’s on deck circle and playable on Shaw well comes in puts it away and that is how the inning will end so Jansen takes care of business and we’ll see if the Angels can get something on the the big hits all the great rats you got to be kidding me and all the swagger relive the day’s biggest plays all in one lightning fast hour show you better believe it quick pitch late nights and early mornings only on MLB Network moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts went into right down the line it may go go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run smash that like button on this broadcast it helps us grow and lets more fans like you discover the channel wbc the show keeps going strong thanks to your support unforgettable on the MLB app and MLB.com take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 9/11 your moments like this and more on the MLB app angels.com/lete so we go to the bottom of the ninth in a 1-1 ball game and Jorge Solair will lead it off tyler Ferguson who got the final two outs in the bottom of the eighth is back out to start the bottom of the ninth and the first pitch is a wild pitch it goes back to the back stop and no one on base one ball no strikes boy would this be awesome if Ceric hits his 200th career home run on a walk-off here’s the next pitch and that one is on the outside corner one and one talked about it when Ferguson took over for McFarland last inning he gave up three runs in the eighth inning last night so the Angles knocked him around here’s the pitch and that’s a wave and a miss that was a good breaking pitch right there looked like a sweeper one ball two strikes the count infield is backed up outfield straight away solair laid on the swing on that sweeper fouls it back behind the plate fans the first 25,000 fans in attendance on Saturday June 21st receive a Nolan Shaw bobblehead courtesy of Circle K visit angels.com/promotions for details here’s the one two that misses inside two balls two strikes solair’s been quiet tonight go for three here’s the pitch and he takes that one inside full count three balls and two strikes here’s the 3-2 and he got him swinging struck him out got him on a sweeper and Solair’s problems at the plate continue 0 for four tonight and two for his last 25 ferguson was excited after that one he pounded his fist into his glove so here is Oh Hoppy and here’s the pitch cops went up a mile high foul over on the third base side this is going to get back to the seats behind the Angels dugout and the counts nothing and one on the Angels catcher saw today of course with the A’s having their temporary home in West Sacramento that the city of Las Vegas is going to have the groundbreaking ceremony for the A’s new stadium they’re going to break ground on June the 23rd as that pitch misses low that groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 8:00 in the morning so you’re going to have to get up early to uh watch it and they’re going to be building a $1.75 billion ballpark expected to be open for the 2028 season but they’re finally going to break ground and that’s going to be in less than two weeks pitch missed on Oh hoppy it’s now two balls one strike i didn’t think anything happens early in Vegas yeah well the days just kind of roll over don’t they true here’s the pitch on its way that’s true could be headed to bed at 8:00 in the morning and that might be the norm there catch him before they go to bed there you go three and one is the count hoppy awaits the pitch it’s on its way and he swings and fouls it off on the right side oh Hoppy another struggling hitter in the Angels lineup he’s just had one hit his last 24 times up 1-1 game in the bottom of the ninth just a total of 10 hits in this ball game and now wins the catcher is going to walk out and meet with the pitcher Ferguson yep and this is probably a good meeting obviously 32 what exactly do you I mean there’s no margin for error here so they want to make sure that they execute exactly what Ferguson wants logan Hoppy in his career against Ferguson 0 for three oh tonight has grounded out fly out to center and popped out to the second baseman so everyone is set the count is full and the 3-2 and this is popped in the air to shallow right center the right fielder is there that’s Lawrence Butler to put it away and they’re two gone here in the bottom of the ninth joe Adell will be the next batter if we end up going to a 10th inning the Angels this season are a perfect 3-0 in extra inning games all three of those wins coming on the road and as far as the A’s in extra innings this season they are 3-2 there’s a pitch on the outside corner that’s a called strike joe Adell is two for five against Ferguson had an 0 for two night and here’s the pitch ground ball hit on the left side muny has it has time throws gets it to first and we will head to the 10th inning 1-1 is the score going to the 10th on Angels Radio also available on the Angels Radio app take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to the ninth inning retired three of four gave up a single and that was it and now placed at second base the designated runner is Luis Aras he was the final out in the A’s ninth inning so here we go angels thinking they could be bunning on the first pitch that’s a little bit high on Austin Wins he was not showing bunt and it’s one ball no strikes wins is their sevenhole hitter their catcher tonight and he’s gone 0 for three here’s the delivery swings at it and fouls it off to our right back and out of play don’t forget after the ball game it will be time for Angels recap trent Rush will be taking your phone calls answering some of your posts on X they’ll have some of the play-by-play highlights a look at the out of town scoreboard and a lot more it’s coming up right after the game here’s the next delivery and that’s a breaking ball in there for a called strike one and two is the count yeah Reed Deers’s last 12 games 13 innings pitched has allowed just one run here’s the delivery fouled off again on the right side glove level just to our right now to play in those last 13 innings also he’s has struck out 19 he’s been dealing this is his 25th appearance this season everyone in relief and there’s a swing and a miss got wins to chase a high fast right there struck him out one away that fast there at 97 up and out of the strike zone see if he can get somebody to follow you up there and he does that is strikeout number 13 tonight for Angels pitching it’s always a big out here in extra innings getting that first guy schuman is the batter and here’s the pitch he looks it over it’s in there for a called strike 0 and one is the count and the next delivery bounces that one foul over on the first base side a’s were without their top hitter tonight Jacob Wilson he’s their regular shortstop and Schuman who played a lot of short last year for the A’s filling in for him tonight did we ever hear why he was scratched we did not get the word on that one yeah we have not seen him step up the pinch hit in any of these situations and Deer’s bluffing a toss to second base and Jacob Wilson mentioning their top hitter he has the second highest batting average in the entire AL only trailing Aaron Judge 366 average for Wilson here’s the two- strike pitch and there’s strike three chase that one to Schuman struck him out and Deers has struck out the first two he’s faced yeah just another fast ball 97 this one is right in the middle of the plate but it is thrown right by Schuman denzel Clark is the batter here’s the pitch and that’s in there for a called strike so looking ahead to the bottom of the tenth Joe Adele will be placed at second base the designated runner and then the Angels will have Ren Heo followed by Newman and then Neto be the bottom part of the lineup and then the leadoff man neto the third batter in the inning yeah and Mason Miller is still down there getting loose they also have a lefty throwing down there one and one the count on Clark takes that one high clark has had a quiet night at the plate couple strikeouts each of them looking and he’s also get into a fieldielder’s choice he has sparkled with the glove in this series has not done much with the bat here’s the pitch and he smacks this one right to third fielded there by Newman the throw will easily get him and Deers with a strong top of the tenth two strikeouts and a ground out the inning is over a run would win it if the Angels can do that in the bottom of the tenth that Let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo Baseball get a piece of Angels history when you visit angels.com/aauctions the official source for game used Angels memorabilia bid on exclusive items like hats baseballs jerseys and more by visiting angels.com/auctions today so the Angels are ready to go as we go to the bottom of the 10th inning and the Angels will face a left-hander hogan Harris is going to take over he replaces Tyler Ferguson and immediately becomes the pitcher record adele’s the runner placed at second and Reanhifo around a bunt and pops up the bunt foul behind the plate and it’s caught by the catcher so just like that one gone here in the bottom of the tenth that was way too easy right there for the days and what happens is that bat head drops just enough gets underneath it easy play for wins right there logan Harris a third round pick of the A’s back in 2018 is guy who did some starting and relieving for them last year numbers were good last year and they’re solid so far this season there’s a pitch that is taken by Kevin Newman this is his first time up one ball no strikes you look at lefties are hitting 206 righty’s 250 newman was 0 for three last night he was the Angels third baseman of course with that runner placed at second you’re a base hit away from winning the game yep yeah good speed with Joe Adele out there and a big gap in left center one ball one strike is the count next pitch on Newman he pops this one up foul on the first base side that’s going to land right near the A’s dugout roof the are scrambling for that baseball one and two is the count kevin Newman hitting just 177 and here’s the pitch and he got a piece of that one fouls it off stay alive newman has only four runs batted in this season but if he gets one here it would be a walk-off gamewinner one ball two strikes neto waiting on deck here’s the next pitch and this is bounced off the plate right out near the second baseman and Aras will throw out Newman on the play adele goes to third base angels have the winning run there with two outs and Zack Neto will be the batter and that’s what you needed Ran Heo to do is just move him and they are going to intentionally walk Neto to get to the lefty Showell free pass to Neto he’s not going to be able to impact things here will have a chance to win this ball game yep they’re going to go on talk about the strategy how they want to pitch to Shaell here and the one thing too we’ll see if Nettle is on the move just from the standpoint of take away their force out at second base and we’ll see what the A’s are going to do whether they’re going to hold him on or not if they hold him on then Neta will stay cuz that’ll create more space and you can already see that yeah they are not going to hold him on they’re going to let him take second base if he wants it that’s a smart move by the A’s settle’s run is meaningless conwell’s been a tough out tonight two singles and a walk he’s hitting 250 against lefties this season here’s the pitch there goes Neto and the pitch inside for a ball slow curve at 70 m an hour stolen base there for Neto defensive indifference johnell awaits the 10 here it comes and that’s in there about the inside corner for a called strike one and one josh Naylor of the Arizona Diamondbacks hit a walk-off grand slam last night against Seattle in I think it was the 11th inning in extra innings yep and the pitch that’s a liner into center field that’s going to win the ball game johnell drops it in front of Denzel Clark and the Angels will walk it off tonight against the A’s angels win this ball game by the final of two to one in 10 innings and you can put a halo over this one what a great at bat first pitch at 70 mph a little curveball this one catches the inner third a shot does what he does best this almost like a little jam shot and that’s the only way a ball’s going to fall in front of Clark out in center field he was trying his best to come flying in to make that grab couldn’t do it angels walk it off here in the 10th on a base hit by Nolan Showell with two outs so the Angels dominance over the A’s continues the Angels are 6 and0 against them this year and they have a sevengame winning streak against them overall they beat them in the final meeting of the season last year so a nice win tonight for the Angels angels had absolutely terrific pitching tonight from the starter and that was Jose Soraniano angels come away with the win tonight and we’re going to take you down trent Rush is standing by and he is with the winning pitcher Reed Dead boy Reed when you came into the game in that 10th inning you inherit the Manford man at second base and you just go and buzz down these A’s tonight what’s the mentality when you come in a situation like that to get the job done yeah it’s kind of like what I said in Boston last week was just attack mode uh throw strikes get outs uh and that’s I mean that’s pretty much it just attack meanwhile Nolan just getting the splash there as Logan Hoppy goes in to empty the cooler and I think Erica Weston might have caught a stray in the meantime as we’re talking with the Reed Demerlers down to the field it always seems like it’s this team has a good time doesn’t it what’s the vibe like with this group oh it’s awesome we have a great group uh come out here and expect to win every night and uh I mean that’s all you can ask for a group like this is go out there and win and uh have some fun at the same time you’re in this new role where it just seems like you’re thriving last 14 games just absolutely dominant right now giving up one earned run in that span what’s it like now as you kind of settled into this new role out of the bullpen yeah I mean it’s different obviously but as Neto goes in for round two come on Zack go ahead R i mean I’m having fun as long I told him from the very beginning or our last day of spring champ like whatever I can do to help this team win that’s what I want to do and right now this is what I have to do and I mean I’m I’m having a lot of fun ran well done congratulations on the win tonight thank you appreciate it terry Clark back to you guys all right thanks Trent we’ll have the winning totals for you here at the Big A in just a moment and uh festive night as it turns out here at Angel Stadium the Angels coming away with the extra inning win and the Angels stay unbeaten in extra innings 4-0 now this year yeah they are and this is one of those games you did not want to lose it just by the pitching performance tonight by Jos Soraniano bo so good in this game tonight seven innings gives up just two hits one run strikes out a careerhigh 12 and you were just hoping that somehow he wasn’t going to take the loss cuz there was it was a one- nothing game certainly the Angels were able to tie it up with that clutch home run pinch hit home run by Travis Darno to tie the game angels walk it off in extras tonight on that just the clutch hit by Nola Shadow and he is on fire he’s swinging the bat so well they intentionally walked Zack Netto and before Netto could get all of his gear off let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means oppo taco a home run hit to the opposite field austin with an oppo taco his 13th and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com moments right there between these two guys uh so it’ll be interesting to see if the A’s make the adjustment and certainly for the Angels you would love to finish this home stand off with a sweep before they head out on this very important road trip they’re going to go to Baltimore and then four games at Yankee Stadium so a tough road trip coming up so you’d like to finish this off on a positive note we’ll see you tomorrow we will and don’t forget first pitch for the day game at Angel Stadium will be at 107 the totals one more time tonight here from the Big A in 10 innings the Angels had two runs recap of the game a look at the out of town scoreboard and a quick preview of the next Angels game have a question or a hot take get involved in post using angels weekcat angels walked off winners tonight how about that for the Halos getting the job done in the ball game in what was maybe one of the best maybe I’ll just say the best pitched game the Angels have had all season long from the dominance of Jos Soraniano through the Angels bullpen everybody that came into this game to throw the rock for the Halos did a remarkable job in this one soraniano was off the charts good you hand it over to the bullpen and everybody did their job tonight from Hunter Strickland in the eighth to Kenley Jansen in the ninth to Reed Demer’s in the 10th just a very impressive showcase and sure enough Logan Ohappy uh behind the plate tonight but it was Nolan Shaell that reaches base safely four times into this game and the A’s opt to put Zach Neto on to go left on left on Nolan Showell he says “Thank you very much.” And calls ball game with his third hit of the night as the Angels get the win and extras 2 to1 the final 714283830 is the number again that 714 to 8:30 8:30 Halos have now won six of their last eight and well in the seven games in that span coming into tonight they were averaging six runs a game tonight it was a different way for the Angels to win and they did so with the pitching and you look at the job that Jos Sorano did in this game took a no hitter into the sixth inning tonight he ends up uh going seven innings two hits one run two walks struck out 12 got 22 swings and misses set a new career high in strikeouts and then Reed Demers at the end of the game gets the win you know his last 13 appearances 14 innings one earned run in that span 10 hits seven walks 21 strikeouts including two tonight i mean that was about as job of a well done as you can have um as the Angels uh get the victory in this ball game again 7142 8:30 8:30 we’re gonna hopefully get a chance to hear from Nolan Shawn well we’ll definitely hear from Angels manager Ron Washington when he gets a chance uh to speak when he gets to the Angels podium tonight but you just kind of go down the line top of the order angels in this game have seven hits neto and Shaunell have five of them luis Rangito had a big hit and then Travis Darnell a huge huge pinch hit home run when he came into bat in the eighth inning to lead off that frame because you know the mentality and not maybe not the mentality but the mood in the ballpark tonight and if you were here let us know at 714283830 was man the Angels have pitched incredible they’re not going to spoil this are they they’re not going to lose this game are they there’s no way the Angels I thought were hitting the ball hard all night i know they had seven hits and only scored two runs but I actually did not think it was like the Angel bats were anemic there were some moments in this game where I thought the Halos were going to be able to come through they missed a really golden opportunity in the sixth inning that was the only thing tonight if I’m going to be negative on anything tonight I was disappointed in how the sixth inning played out get the leadoff double from Neto shaunell walks mike Trout comes up chops one over to third ends up grounding into a double play and then after Taylor Ward walks Soler flies out to right just like that inning over so that was a tough one but other than that it’s not like the Angels had a ton of chances they hit the ball hard sometimes hit the ball hard right at guys and well in baseball that’s going to happen from time to time but the way the Angels pitched in this game they did not deserve to lose it and they end up winning it thanks to Nolan Shaunell in walkoff fashion 71428383030 let’s go to the phone lines braden in Upland joining us batting in the leadoff spot on Angels Recap tonight what you got for us Braden hey how you doing Trent no I just love the way that the boys played today um the pitching obviously was phenomenal soraniano hung up what 12 strikeouts through his outing it’s unfortunate that he didn’t get a win tonight yeah you know it’s funny josΓ© Soraniano still does not have a win at home this year which is kind of crazy to think about right he he absolutely pitched well enough to get a win in tonight’s game I thought and and again I got to go back and look but to me from the way it looked and stats-wise this may not be reflected but this was as good as we have seen Soraniano for a complete start like for me at one at one point he struck out five in a row i mean he was about as dominant as dominant gets in this game tonight that’s the ace stuff that’s the stuff that you’ve heard me and Mark Langston and Mark Gubazon and Terry Smith and you know Wayne Randazzo uh Erica and Patty O’Neal and and Roger Lodge and Garrett Anderson and Tim S we’ve all talked about it every single one of those names I just mentioned has talked about it the stuff for Jos Soraniano tonight we saw it and that was an incredible bounceback after a game that I thought he kind of gave away in Boston his last time out you know the Angels score four runs for him out of the gate he gives up five in the bottom of the first angels say “Hey no worries we got you.” Then they score three runs for him in the second inning and then he still wasn’t able to protect that lead well the Angel Bads didn’t exactly come through for Sorano in this game but they got enough for a victory thanks to some late inning heroics first Darno and then it was Nolan Showell the game winner in the 10th inning all right let’s go to Shawn in Missouri boy staying up late in Missouri Central time zone there Sean hanging out with us on Angels Recap tonight it’s almost it’s almost Wednesday in Missouri but it’s still Tuesday night what’s up Sean not much man i grew up in Southern California i actually went to Los Almeidos High School so I’ve been an Angels fan all my the years mark Langston I watched him growing up uh I just wanted to call and say “Hey the Angels they just look a little bit different this year.” Uh Ron Gardner you can definitely see the influence in the fundamentals uh just how they’re playing they seem to have a little more heart they just seem to have a little more energy on the field than I’ve seen in a long time i would agree to a certain extent that some of those fundamentals are coming together i think that with what Ron Washington is doing I I do think that there is some work to be done but I will tell you this Sean so I spent about an hour today with Mike Trout logan Hoppy was hanging out with us too for for a good chunk of that time and I I’ll just tell you the big takeaway I got from spending that much time with Mike and talking with Logan and what goes on with those guys and and in this clubhouse this is a very tightlyknit group these guys like to have a lot of fun with each other uh they are a very close team and I think that this is the maybe the some of the best team chemistry I’ve seen from an Angels ball club in quite some time and I’ve been here this is my 11th season and I don’t know that I can think of a team as close as this one and would love to see that pay off and results wins and losses wise on the field if nothing else is a group that’s a great core that’s going to be around for a long time and there’s a true brotherhood here i think that’s special and if they can capture that and turn that into wins that’s great and I felt like tonight they did angels with the win tonight now just two games under 500 and right in the thick of a race for a playoff spot shauna Missouri thanks for staying up late with us here on Angels Recap tonight next let’s go a little closer to home how about Ryan in Anaheim joining us now on Angels Recap good evening Ryan hey evening Trent i just wanted to compliment this team you know I um something I really like about is the balance of veteran experience and the young guys uh starting to step up and I think we saw that tonight with obviously Soraniano putting on the the show that he did and then Darno leveling it with that big hit and ultimately Neto walking it off so I just like that balance of the team and just wanted to shout that out yeah I agree i think that there’s a lot of that balance and that’s the balance that you know Perry Manassian has been trying to build it’s the balance that Ron Washington has you know tried to cultivate into being a successful winning team and I think that we are seeing a little bit of that and you know I I I love the 25U crew i do that is that group is going to be what leads this Angels team to a championship but along those lines you got to make sure that your veterans are contributing to be able to help mold some of those young guys to become veterans themselves when they’re ushering in the next wave and then you can really have something for for multiple generations of Angels baseball i think that’s what they’re trying to build and I do think that we saw a little sneak peek of that in tonight’s game for sure ryan good call thanks for making it john who is at the game tonight up next on Angels Recap what you got for us John trent I want to say it’s an absolute pleasure talking to you me and my buddies been the people dressing up at Angels Stadium i love You’re here i love how Yeah we’re here dude we’re here we’re real yeah dude i’m glad you saw us dude we’re so excited about this team i cannot I cannot describe the energy in here we don’t need any negativity we got a great young core i’m so excited for what’s coming dude we’re going to be here tomorrow upper deck somewhere we don’t even know where we’re sitting but we’re going to be there and we absolutely love this team and I love what we saw tonight we can’t get more hype than that walk off in the tent is just electric you know what I mean we appreciate you Trent thank you it was an absolutely electric atmosphere at the Big A tonight i think everybody could feel it everybody can feel it especially uh the Angels in the outfield like John dressed up as angels we’re going to have to get John we’re I’m going to have to find you tomorrow if you’re coming to the game tomorrow you’re in the outfield i’ll be able to find you we’re going to we’re going to send some uh we’re going to send some of our uh our spies out there to figure out exactly where you’re at and then I’ll come out and see you John uh thanks for making the call tonight let’s go to one more here before we take a timeout how about R.J in Riverside at 714283830 what you got for us R.J trent it’s always nice to see that uh big day light up after a victory at the Angel Stadium i got a quick call though i just want to make a uh congratulations Travis Carno coming in eighth inning clutch off the bench that’s outstanding i just want to ask you if some of our hitters skipped pre-training about bunting was that a week off or something i mean we I just don’t know why we can’t lay down and then finally I really am impressed with what how looked on the ground today it was like 12 strikeouts at a career high former Steven and I fantastic effort i just I love the win i felt we’re going to but man I just wish we had a little more uh ability at the plate to lay down the bud good teams can do that yeah I I agree with that that’s a good point ironically Luis Rango who wasn’t able to get a bunt down in the 10th inning tonight did miss quite a bit of time in spring training and maybe that is part of it but I think that this is also something that’s been going on with that player in particular uh I’m I’m talking I remember there were bunt situations in 2018 and I was asking Mike Soa about it back then i mean this is this has been going on for a while um about you know Renifo being able to get bunt down bunched down he’s got to be able to do it and you know what that was an at bat that could have been really costly and I I I can I don’t want to sit here and and be you know negative at all on a night where the Angels did a lot well and pitched so great and got the win but I do think that if we are going to be a baseball show here and we’re going to talk about everything that is Angels baseball and what we see I do think that you have to address what happened to lead off the 10th inning that’s a situation Ringo must get that bunt down he knows it the dugout knows it everybody knows it that’s a situation where you got to be able to move that runner over even Kevin Newman’s at bat at least he was able to hit the ball over the right side to advance the runner that’s all you’re looking for in those situations yeah hit would have been nice uh but Newman has really struggled this year was at least able to move the runner over and made life real easy for Nolan Showell because when you get to third base there’s so many different things that can happen a a wild pitch or a pass ball can bring in a run it’s just a little extra pressure the pitcher’s got to look at you it just creates another element of there are other ways to win the game beyond just the base hit once that runner gets to third base so good job by Newman i know it was with one out and then that was the second out in the inning but I still thought you know good job by Newman to hit the ball over to the right side to atone somewhat for Ringo not being able to get that bunt down and then after the A’s decided you know what we don’t want to mess with Zack Detto we’ll go left on left nolan Shadow he says thank you very much third hit of the game wins it for the Angels who’s ready for some Halo highlights i’m ready to live relive this ball game and you know what we’re going to do that on the other side of this very short break so sit tight hang with us you know what even pick up the phone and call us 714283830 i’d love to talk to you i want to talk to as many Angel fans we can tonight great win for the get it done in extra innings tonight took an extra frame no prom at all and you know what here’s another thing and this gets overlooked because Josoraniano went seven innings tonight i know he threw 110 pitches and it’s more than anybody wants him to throw but he was in cruise control so much of tonight he didn’t have very many high stress innings and I think that matters with the pitch count it’s not just a true
