stands out for me is that right-handed hitters have really struggled batting below 200 on the year It seems that they have a hard time picking up his release point and tracking the ball into the zone So we’ll see how right-handers do against him in this one And here is Lawrence Butler And that’s through there for a strike And we’re off and running from Anaheim And he takes the strike And that’s in the dirt Slashes this one And it could be trouble around first Heading for two And it’s a double to start the game Oh that’ll make you feel good as a hitter right there When you connect and it jumps off your bat like that you’re thinking double at the very least Put a great swing on it and man he wasn’t fooled at all And now the shorts stop Jacob Wilson What a season it’s been for him He has big league So when you have that you have a chance to win every night If I was a pitcher on this team I’d feel pretty good about taking the mound for him Brent Rooker batting with one down Takes a tough spots Well he’s been a very dependable starter for his club And what stands out for me is that left-handed hitters have really struggled batting below 200 against him And it just tells me they have a hard time tracking the baseball Maybe it’s the release point maybe it’s the motion but just some way somehow they’ve got to figure out a way to pick it up and try to have some success from the This guy is going to do damage when he gets the bat to the baseball Don’t take your eyes off of him Nolan Shanowell stands in here takes ball one low That one the other way and it stays fair didn’t exactly square that one up but sometimes you don’t have to on the mound He’s got to feel like he deserved a better result on that pitch Really I mean just a soft liner that happened to stay fair But even though you don’t want to do it you got to tip your cap because the guy at the plate he found a way to fight it off and get that knock Here’s Mike Trout That misses one and0 Trout starting as the these athletics showing great discipline at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one He’s only given up one run but the starter pitch count is starting to get You know sometimes all it takes is getting to the next arm before an offense does any damage and that might be the case today Next one misses and the count is one and one Though Chris through the early stages he hasn’t been very efficient in terms of the pitch count He’s going to need to get some quick outs if he’s going to get deeper into this game It is interesting though when you consider the way the game is run now Doesn’t even matter that much if your starter doesn’t go that deep because teams are really aggressively building their bullpens and it remains two and two [Music] [Applause] That’s down and in He should get a pretty good pitch to hit here with three hole hitter coming up if he’s walked Foul We’ll see another payoff pitch So glad these ballparks have installed right there He saved extra bases for sure If the pitcher’s his friend he’ll give him a second to catch his breath before he’s ready to deal the next pitch Now that Now here’s the leadoff hitter for the Lawrence Butler one for two Coach with a move to first and he’s back in safely I think you want to get a one-way lead Be very aggressive in the secondary This hitter not a power guy So you want to in his career It would be pretty cool to see it right here And the first pitch misses for ball one Solair with just one more homer to reach the 200 career mark You know we usually talk about bigger numbers when it comes to homers but only about 400 major leaguers have ever hit 200 round trippers in their careers He’s putting himself in great company Three balls no strike That one misses So a
