Hey guys. Normally I do Winnipeg Jets specific articles, but this one is a bit more general. I take a look at renewing research from a decade ago to see if the NHL is becoming more efficient with biases with height and against scoring for defensemen.
Let me know what you think.

I’d like to yes, at least when it comes to fans. Since for some reason people LOVE to hype up a player(especially rookies) with their size, especially without taking into account any draw backs that size might come with.
This applies to both defensemen and goalies specifically.
And nobody is talking about the reduced injury risk that comes with being a big boi. Sure, small guys are good but they cant help help the team when they miss key games due to injury.
the size in playoffs narrative does have a degree of confirmation bias when every single team is trying to be big, so it makes sense that the best team often has the better big players yet the takeaway by the public/media is often just the size part of it
this also reminds me of a quote from Arniel from earlier in the season who scratched Heinola ahead of a game against a great forechecking team, citing physicality as the reason, which is so odd given how good Heinola had been this year in breaking the puck out..
