A’s vs. Angels Game Highlights (6/11/25) | MLB Highlights

The Angels two games under 503 games out of a playoff spot. Four games back in the division trying to sweep the A’s for the second time this year. Angels trying to sweep this series and make it a perfect 7 to 0 against the A’s to start this season. The Angels have not begun a year 7 to 0 against an individual opponent since 2014 when they won all seven of their games that year against Minnesota. That was the last division championship year for the Angels. The A good matchup for a pitcher that throws a lot of changeups. Hendrix throws a lot, the A hit him well, 754 ops against change ups that second best in the major leagues. Here’s butler leading off against Kyle Hendrix going to see a lot of slow stuff from Hendrix swing and a miss strike three back to back changeups. That now is Brent Rooker Rooker is ding and we saw him in the two hole last night. The one, it’s a shot back at third and fair down the left field line rolling into the corner. Rooker turning at first, he is going to go to second and cruising in there with a double and the athletics have their first hit. So the A’s have a runner in scoring position and Tyler Soderstrom will be the next batter and that is a walk. So runners at 1st and 2nd and Soderstrom really earned that walk right there. 10 pitch at bat for Kyle Hendricks this year, the first two innings have been his problem innings, er, a right at six in the first two innings and M coming up 194 on the year and it’s a drive that’s going to sink in the left center for a base hit, scoring his rooker. So him around second, he’s going to third on a line drive base hit to left center by M and the A take a nothing lead. The A do get a run. They had a pair of hits and they also will leave a pair of runners on base and Neto leads off for the Angels against JP SE. It’s one nothing. A JP Sears back at it again here this Wednesday afternoon in Anaheim, coming off a nice win and a nice play to start for Max gets it over to first and the birthday boy celebrates with the diving stop and throw. That ball was to the left of the a shortstop Schumann diving to his left to coral it one half pro dug out at first by Soder and Netto is retired for the first out. Mike Trout will be the next batter. Trout has cooled off a little bit. He’s just two for his last 18 as he gets ready to bat base hit Brown trying to cut it off. He does. And that will keep Trout at first. You don’t see trout zooming around the bases yet as he works his way back from that knee injury. But Trout does get a two out base hit here with the 02 and two out. Trout at first and swung on and missed the ball. Gets away from Macgyver those the first for the out. So a strikeout 23 and the Halos are down in the first Rooker lead things off. Rooker doubled and scored. The game’s only run in the first inning swung. I drive a deep left field going back is the left field award. It’s gone a home run for Brent Rooker and it’s two nothing athletics Rooker starting to get hot. That’s number 14 and R number 39 all changeups, one fastball that was mixed in there. That last one was a changeup and he was ready for the Red, he Newman and 89 and one and they are two a swung on it missed down. He goes on a slider great pitch from JP. That’s four strikeouts for the lefty. He’s now retired seven straight and the first batter will be Luis. That’s right to Andy Fletcher down there into left field. Luis is going to have extra bases here to open up the fourth inning ball kicks around from Taylor Ward. Looking to go to three. Here comes and he will stand up 95 from home one away. And here’s max swung on the fly ball to shallow center field coming up for a, he’s going to make the catch is tagging and the throw is off line and the A lead three, here’s butler butler has struck out and bounced out. He’s zero for two, got him swinging another change up three in a and it was the same result on all three of them. The inning is over, but they do get a run has been sharp with his command. He hasn’t walked anybody and a swing and Miss JP Sears collecting seven cases that matches a season high. Now, outstanding, outstanding change up from JP Sears, why? It’s the arm action. The 22 with one out is swung on it a case and for he’s on some kind of a role this afternoon, swung on a mile high, pop on the infield and Schuman, the shortstop in the dirt right between 2nd and 3rd to make the catch. And for series, it’s been economical so far and he’s blanked the Angels on two hits after five, eight groundball outs today for kyle Hendricks. It’s not a Rooker. He’s handled the pretty well today with a fly ball to right center field. It pretty well a is back for it all the way at the, and he makes the catch right up against the top of the wall. He’s been working at that a lot knowing how many steps you got before you get to the wall. JP Sears has authored a gem. So far two hits and two base runners for the Halos and Newman lines a base hit to lead it off. So now it’s the third time through and see if the swings start to, against Sears. There’s a shot off the bat. Neto drops into center, that’s going to be another hit. So the Angels have something brewing back to back singles to start off the bottom of the sixth and the tying run will be coming to the plate in Nolan efficient JPs. You love to see him get an opportunity to get through this year, making a lot of noise here at the big some of that energy into this Angels bottom of the sixth coming in this game today , Nolan Shana hitting 526 against the A this year and the pitch is Shana swung on and missed Shana K nine strikeouts for JP Ses and here comes Mark, you can tell from Sears reaction he was not pleased. He won another chance at Trout JP. Se head back to the dugout and the Halos have two on with one out. So goes five and a third to come from behind again today. A lot of comeback wins. Homan was the opener on Monday night. He worked a scoreless first inning. Here’s Trout. He’s the tying run is Kay Morales was about to call strike three but he stopped once mcivor dropped the ball. Where did it miss? Just tell me where it missed because I was it high? Was it, where did it Miss? And that’s what Macgyver was asking, that’s all over the strike zone. He was about to ring it up and Then he stopped once the ball popped out of the middle of the catcher. So the bases are loaded now and it’s Taylor Ward at the plate and man down to the belt here it is inside hit him. Now, the are on the board. 3 to 1. Angels being invited right back into this game first by the umpire. Now by the pitcher home and making a mistake with two strikes hitting Taylor Ward. JP Sear is not happy with the home plate umpire. The bullpen has been dreadful this season. The batter is so with runners everywhere and one out bounced up the middle into center field. Neto scores. Here comes Trout. The game tied runners at the corners. It’s a new ball game tied at three JP Sears. The starting pitcher. He is being held back in the A’s dugout Sears who is in line for the win is irate with Morales. The home plate umpire after missing that 32 pitch that was called ball for a Trout and really turned the game on its ear the right hander on Valdo V comes out of the bullpen for the A’s. It’s been eight days since the pitch tie game chance to keep adding on here. Take the lead center field. This will give the Angels the lead as Brown backs up to get under it and make the catch. Taylor Ward comes home and is 4 to 3 halos here in the sixth clutch for with two strikes. Two strikeouts in the game. Angels have come back from a 3 to 0 deficit to take a 4 to 3 lead straightens one out and hits it out. A two run. Rocket, joe Anell on a fastball. He seared that one out. Joe Anell says hello again. 13th home run of the year and he is back to baseball. Ryan Sefer Schuman moves up to second on the ground out there. Here’s Rooker who has doubled homered and singled. He’s three for three, triple shy of the cycle here. Rooker sends one to center field , Joe Adell moving back, he’s going to leave and it’s gone. Let’s get a two run homer and right back in this thing have a day. Rooker Rooker, a multi homer game. It’s his 15th home run of the year which leads the club. So Connor Brocket will pitch this inning now is Willie macgyver to shallow right, coming in for it is so long. Yeah, to come sliding in what a catch ninth inning and the Angels trying to put the final touches on a sweep of the A’s don’t have their normal closer out there today, but they do have the guy that’s been their best reliever over the last few weeks. Re Detmer’s looking for his second save and very quickly now the A’s are down to their final out in this ball game. So some coming up, say good night to the A’s Reed Deer’s electric in the ninth, his second major league save and the Angels sweep this series.

  1. No, JP sears… It wasn't on the Blue… It was on you putting those runners on, Holman for hitting the next batter, and Maclver for not catching a ball that shoulda been caught…

Time to take some accountability, bud.

  2. Definitely blew the call on trout. But the decision to take out Sears was the real reason the lost. I get tribute had 2 hits already. He wasn’t over 80 pitches I don’t get it.

  3. エンゼルス打線を抑えていたシアーズが交代してくれた時からがチャンス到来。案の定逆転できた。

  4. It is funny that these 2 teams aren't going anywhere this year and have long season. No hope for them. Kids get excited for nothing. Lol. There is not much competition in MLB and it is kinda boring. Lastly, A's need to fire pathetic Kotsay.

  5. Great to see Adell make that leaping catch and later hit a clutch homerun. He's peaking at the right time for the Angels. Let's keep it rolling!

  6. If I had to make a guess… I'd say that umpire saw the ball hit Mike Trout, and that's why he let it turn into a walk. Not saying he's right, since the ball struck the catcher first, came right back out of his glove (if it landed there at all) and hit Mike Trout before ever hitting the ground, but I think that's what the ump was thinking when he didn't call strike 3.

Interesting end to that at bat though… I don't think I've seen a batter get struck by a pitched ball after it contacted the catcher and/or catcher's glove first before today. I don't know if there's any official rule specifically for that situation – whether it's just a dropped strike (dropped 3rd strike, in this case) or that counts as a hit-by-pitch.
