Waggman line drive to center field jackson Merrell started back now he’s going to come in and makes the catch for the second out two-way that’ll bring up Lopez lopez to right center coming in is Wade he can’t get it on a bounce lopez now has a 13 game on base streak and a five-game hitting streak and Sters pops it up machado back to the outfield grass he makes the catch in shallow left field for the final out for the first time in this series the Padres’s come to bat in a scoreless game bottom of the first inning of the 2022 National League Sai Young award winner Sandy Alcantra making his 11th start 2-7 with a very very high erra after coming back from Tommy John’s surgery you know he’s 100% to pitch but to get things in sync the breaking ball to get that release point down consistently watching his starts the stuff is there the velocity is there the movement is there but the command has been a little bit off obviously not getting results in any way so far fernando Tatis Jr doing the designated hitting for just the second time this year driven in the air left center field sters and Mesa mesa will make the catch in center and Luis Arise is up arise had three hits yesterday two of them the other way and then one up the middle drives it to left field that’ll be an easy play for Sters ground ball tough play deep in the hole is Norby a bouncer to first does it get there in time it does norby was deep at third makes the play sweet play and a one two three inning for Sandy Alcanter will go to the second here’s Jus Sanchez a little lower in the lineup against the lefty he’s a red hot six for his last 11 here perfectly done at a one two three inning he caps it with the catch jackson Merrill will lead things off a one pitch to him hot shot down the first baseline fair ball it’s going to head towards the corner jackson is rounding first he’s heading over for second sanchez finally gets him he bobbles it jackson’s going to go for three here comes the slide no throw just keeps it fair and then the race is on there’s a little juggle right there is that another error double and an error well the Padres’s have been right the last couple of years they have excelled in these situations runner on third with one out or nobody out she hits it at the third baseline now to get the job done jackson jogs home with the first run of the day it’s an RBI single and the Padres’s take a one- nothing lead runners on first and second now with one out tyler Wade coming to the plate two-1 pitch up the middle line though but grabbed by Lopez throws the first he’ll get the double play good positioning lopez getting the liner in a 6-3 double play ends the second the Padres’s do score a run here’s Augustine Ramirez 0 for one a fly ball to left field first time up drives that deep to left field sheets goes back looking going going gone goodbye augustinine Ramirez his seventh home run of the year we’ve got a tie ball game and that ball got out of here in a hurry he just missed a homer his first time up did the big fella that’s why he’s in that leadoff spot today that dude’s going to have a really nice big league career i mean he can hit outside ball four second free pass that Alcantra has issued to the Padres’s today a one out walk to Gavin Sheets and that’ll bring up Xander Bogarts and this could be trouble for Alcantra he has really struggled with runners on base let’s see if the Padres’s can put some pressure on him here in the fourth hard hit by Bogarts he continues to see Sandy Alcantra well now five for 11 in his career against the Marlin right-hander and pods with a couple of guys aboard here in the bottom of the fourth that’s one of the biggest differences this year he’s able to get to two strikes but just not able to put these guys away jake Croninworth walked his first time up croninorth strokes it to right center field sanchez not going to get there and it bounces up against the wall sheets on his way bogart’s right behind him a two-run double for Jake Croninworth and the Padres’s take a three to one lead here in the fourth and missing there to Wade his third walk of the afternoon second of the inning and now two aboard for Elias Diaz that’s through the left side base hit forward it’s going to be waved sters comes up throwing no shot an RBI single for Elias Diaz andre Lead is now four to one and they’re putting up a crooked number here in the bottom of the fourth and ball for another walk third of the inning fourth of the day issued by Alcantra bases loaded one out for the former Marlin luis Arise out to right center field sanchez got to go and get it wade will tag at third base should be able to score easily arise gets the job done a sacrifice fly and the Padres’s add another now a four-run fourth inning fanny Machado will become the ninth man to hit this inning man he stings it the other way base hit diaz has scored they’ll hold Tatis but he’s coming anyway sanchez throw gets him fernando ran through the stop sign and that’ll end the inning but the pods put up a big old crooked number here’s Jus Sanchez sanchez with a drive high to right field it is deep going back is Wade he’s at the wall he looks up and it’s gone jesus Sanchez that ball kept carrying his fourth of the year here the Marlins have two solo homers in the game and now it is six-2 and he just continues to get it done and he’s getting better against left-handed pitching too there’s a shot to left field into the corner and off the wall played back in by Sheets that’s a double for Senoa good inning here for the Marlins down by four now augustine Ramirez one for two a solo home run in the third wouldn’t the Marlins like to turn the trick here on San Diego driven to center field there’s a base hit so now rounds third he’ll score ramirez has driven in two and the Marlins have chopped the lead now to 6-3 San Diego finally making a heart work this inning whereas in the second third and fourth he didn’t even throw 10 pitches in any of those innings eric Wagaman is up line drive that’s going to get down for a base hit and the Marlins have the tying run coming to the plate in the form of Otto Lopez and now Schult going to come out and make a pitching change so Morgan going to come on for the second time in his major league career pitching change here in the fifth david Morgan is in otto Lopez is up and a chance to get the Marlins a little bit closer here lopez driven deep left field sheets going back to the wall going going gone goodbye we’re tied up a three-run homer for Otto Lopez oh that has to feel good for Miami after blowing the six-run lead yesterday to come back from 6-1 a lot of work to go but we’re tied up at six i love it i love it i mean it could have rolled over here today after falling behind but Lopez plays long ball to left field third homer for the Marlins but the first one with runners on and Forado his fourth of the year senoa is one for two he had a double and a run scored in that big fifth inning line drive that’s a base hit for Senoa aggressively will turn first and it goes into the corner and he will have another double that’s his second double of the game and the Marlins have the potential go-ahead run now on second base victor Mesa Jr now goes left on left against Matsui and he is bunning toward Machado nobody’s over at third so Machado is going to take the outer by perfectly done by Victor Mesa Jr so Matsui has handled his lane and with the order turning over now ramirez coming up big day already he will face one of the Padres’s high leverage guys jason Adam coming in in a tie game seventh inning infield in gets away and here comes Senoa thanks to moving him up he’s at third he scores on the wild pitch the Marlins have come back from five down today after blowing a six-run lead in the first inning in yesterday’s game but we’re only in the seventh inning still a lot of baseball to be played there’s a drive base hit and that’s the third hit of the game for Augustine Ramirez’s eighth on the road trip wag him in one out of three with a single and a run scored another hard hit ball and another base hit little bit of a bobble by Sheets throw is going to come into third base and Machado’s tag is right on target once in a while the bobble can actually help you out i don’t think Ramirez tries to get to third base if Sheets doesn’t have trouble picking it up but a great recovery by Gavin good throw great tap not even close in a leadoff walk here in the bottom of the seventh inning so big couple of outs for Ronnie Enriquez after he walked a rise to begin the inning now he’s got to contend with Gavin Sheets sheets in the air deep to right field sanchez is back that one’s going to go gavin Sheets a go ahead two-run shot holy Sheets padres’s back in front it’s 8 to7 you can’t say it’s a surprise at this point he has already this year hit some big home runs in big spots add this to the list jason Adams stays in conor Norby to lead off oh got hit right in the helmet change up got away and caught Norby right in the batting helmet members of both athletic training staffs are now with Norby as he gets to his knees and asking him a bunch of questions it sounds like he’s giving them the right answers it looks like Norby wants to stay in the game norby is as tough as they come norby is going to stay in the game nick Forz is now the hitter for the Marlins and Forez does hit a ground ball charged by Machado great job with the short hop but couldn’t get it out of his glove cleanly said it before say it again absolutely nothing has come easy in this series and so Wii Baralta will be called upon a pitching change here in the eighth inning this one still to be determined marlins threatening in the eighth a 3-1 count for the rookie Mesa here’s the pitch he walked him and the bases will be loaded here for Augustine Ramirez who is three for four line drive right up the middle base hit a two-run single for Augustine Ramirez and the Marlins have regained the lead 98 Miami how about Augustine man is he starting to swing the bat well he’s going to be special how about this game and how about these Marlins they may as well score another run here and Marlins doing what they do with two outs they one of the better teams in all of baseball scoring after two are out l drive base hit wagaman mesa will round third he’ll score ramirez might get the green light he does there may be a play here’s the throw to the plate and Ramirez is out at the plate so the inning comes to a close on a play at the plate but the Marlins put up some more here in the top of the eighth inning and they have gone back ahead can’t ask for better drama than this one 10-8 lead calvin Foch is in he grew up here in this area about 20 minutes away chula Vista and here he is at Petco Park trying to give the Marlins a victory in a three and three road trip in what has been an outstanding back andforth game and two down in the ninth inning breaking pitch popped up wagamin at first base he’s got it and the Marlins win it the Marlins come back from a 61 deficit a day after they blew a 6 nothing lead and they beat the Padres’s led by some of their young rookies a 10-8 final
