for Wednesday June 11th we are looking at the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Royals i had a premium play on the Yankees yesterday nice to see them beat down on KC and we’re going to cover this one here as a free play now this line open we’re going to check at circa at minus 115 there has been early action on the side of the Yankees pitching matchup is interesting we have Clark Schmidt going up against Chris Bubich now Chris Bubich has been unbelievable has a 1.00 flat one whip his percentile rankings are off the charts a 1.43 43 erra and he just doesn’t give up runs the last time he gave up multiple runs was a while ago he shuts teams out often it’s been a real breakout season here for Bouvich so far and he’s been sort of trending that way ever since that 2022 season where he had a 5.58 erra he came back low pitch count in 20 um 2023 but he got a 3.94 RA got more pitches in 2024 2.67 67 RA and now he’s getting a ton of pitches over a thousand pitches thrown here with a 1.43 ERA but he has gone up against a Yankees offense that is deadly which I mentioned in my premium pick yesterday they rank first in WRC Plus weighted on base average they rank first slugging percentage they rank first on base percentage they rank first batting average they rank second and when you look at walk rate they rank first this is a team that gets on base they score runs they rank third in RBI’s in runs scored they rank third and in home runs they rank first this is a team that can really put it on you so it’s a big challenge for Chris Bubic who as I said has been amazing but you have to start questioning when that regression’s coming and could it be today it absolutely could be against this offense now we look at Clark Schmidt percentile rank ranking is not as good he has a 4.04 04 RA but his XRA is a whole one point lower here at 3.07 i think he is going to start to have better outings in general um I don’t love his low ground ball rate and he’s walking far too many guys but he’s got good strikeout numbers hard to barrel up hard to get hard contact on so even though there’s a lot of fly balls they’re not getting crushed or anything like that he ranks in the top 20% so 80th percentile in expected batting average and right around there in expected RA and average exit velocity as well and we talked about offense you look at this Kansas City offense from the metrics it’s not great 26th in WRC Plus in weighted on base average they rank 26th in slugging they rank 24th in on base percentage they rank 24th and in batting average they rank uh where are they um 10th so top 10 in batting average but they just the the ability to drive in runs the ability to actually get hits when they need them the most has been lacking you look last night as we said we had the Yankees they crushed them 10-2 big price tag on it but it was it was worthy there especially with Freed on the mound and it was time for Noah Cameron to get blown up there the head-to-head the Yankees have just absolutely dominated if you can see here they’ve won six straight nine of their um sorry eight of their last nine and it’s just not been very competitive that the Royals struggle to score runs in all of these games actually this is going to come down in my opinion if Bubic can keep the Yankees under control historic data for a guy that’s pitched as well as Bubic has pitched is actually pretty good it’s hard to pinpoint when that regression is going to come but if it was ever going to come if there’s ever a time to pinpoint it it’s going to come against this Yankees offense i like the fact that the Yankees haven’t been playing that good as of late so they’re kind of low uh low priced in market so for that reason the free play is going to be on the New York Yankees at minus 120 minus 125 somewhere around there um now I will say if we got a 120 available we want to always check if it’s better to take the 120 or the run line so we’re going to compare this right now and you can get like a plus 135 on the run line if we compare these two lines it’s going to tell us which is the best i’m thinking it’s the minus 120 um it has it says they’re both they’re exactly the same actually so why don’t we split the free play on the Yankees minus 120 and then we’ll also split them on the minus one half at + 135 love this one guys hopefully we can cash it and remember my seven
