man this would be the most howy thing ever Dallas still stinks You’re about the way kick dig back here and welcome welcome welcome to Cowboys arrest season where you know something’s going to go down to screw up the Cowboys It always happens But the Eagles not them The Eagles are always looking to get better They’re always planning on something And I think Howie Roseman has a surprise up his sleeve for us The truth of the matter is this right in today’s football in the NFL especially for fans of football uh the off season isn’t when the players stop playing football It isn’t after the Super Bowl it You got free agency you got the draft Uh really the off seasonason is about a month long It’s that last mandatory mini camp until training camp starts That’s when it gets really quiet That’s when Cowboy players usually get in trouble and Mark Holmes has to do like 90 videos a day to do uh you know to try to make excuses uh and why it’s not Dak Prescott’s fault Even if it’s not Dak Prescott’s fault he doesn’t want you blaming Dak Prescott But I regress I regress As for our Eagles as they go on in this you know month break between uh mini camp and training camp you got to wonder what How Roseman is planning because only Howie could pull off certain moves Okay only Howie And I think Howie Roseman he’s an opportunist He waits until you know opportunities present himself and then and then he jumps on it Okay Uh it it just happens Look at look at this kid Chamar Stewart right of the Bengals This kid is not signed The Bengals are messing with this kid’s contract The easiest contract to sign in the NFL should always be the rookie contracts Those are pretty much slated salary-wise but they’re trying to put a things in it And he’s not biting And he actually left uh mandatory I guess he left mini camp and was like the hell with this Cuz he wasn’t taking part in drills and he wasn’t he was just there and he wasn’t going to sign a contract They’re that far Now we don’t know how how damaged that relationship is We don’t know if he’ll sign but if this thing continues to get ugly which it might and it looks like it is this could present an interesting opportunity for Howie Roseman I’m not saying it’s going to happen but I’m saying it’s interesting And if you look at all the GMs and all the teams in the league the one guy that you know could pull this off is Howie Okay Uh and so to me it’s an interesting situation And and I got to say this why is it always the Bengals like like I’ve never seen a team have so many problems Always And I’m not talking about just the recent Bengals teams but like 10 15 20 years ago they always seem to have problems when it comes to money and paying guys It’s never easy And now they’re giving their first round pick problems All right Uh Adam Shfter wrote this Cincinnati’s unsigned first round draft pick Shamar Stewart now has left mandatory mini camp per source Stuart has been attending team activities but without a signed contract uh with the Bengals asking for certain clauses no longer Now here’s the interesting thing So what the Bengals are basically doing is they’re trying to they’re trying to start a new president on their contracts that basically gives them an option to avoid uh the contract if you know if a guy’s having off the- field troubles and and and things like that It gives them an out an out Okay Historically the Bengals have not done that Other teams have but the Bengals haven’t And you know Sheamar Stewart and his agent don’t want to be the first Bengal first round pick to set that precedent for everybody else So he doesn’t want the that stuff in there and to be the first first round pick of a Bengal to have it in there So I don’t know where this is going to go Okay But he has an interesting if this thing continues to go south Uh Shamar Stewart has an out Okay he he could simply do this right breaking news First round pick Shamar Stewart can opt out of his contract sit out the entire 2025 season and reenter the NFL draft in 2026 Pound Bengals pound Stewart Uh that comes from NFL rumors So he if this thing goes or gets bad enough he just could tell the Bengals I’m done I’m just going to sit out the season I’m going to reenter the draft next year and go somewhere else Okay Which if you’re the Bengals and he pulls that card and he says that’s what he’s going to do At what point do you just trade him you trade him to not lose that first round pick because the Bengals risk losing that first round pick for nothing getting nothing for it Okay What if what if at that point Howie Roseman comes comes back uh to the Bengals and says “Hey listen um you know we’ll we’ll give you a we’ll give you a third round pick It’s better than nothing You ain’t getting nothing else for him You’re going to lose him you know or a second round pick The Eagles got they got the draft capital next year to pull something like this Look I would I wouldn’t I wouldn’t give a first round pick up for him but I would a second if I could get a first round pick on a second a second round pick value with that fifth year option because he still technically is drafted in the first round if you could pull trade I would do it I would do it I mean the Eagles we talk about adding depth to that defensive line Well this kid this kid’s got tremendous talent Tremendous talent And I would assume that the Bengals will figure this out eventually you know but it is the Bengals And you never know how somebody is going to react I mean this kid is absolutely like getting frustrated with this whole thing So to me that would be such a Howie Roseman move to go and get this kid I mean if you’re the Bengals and and and you know the kid’s about to enter the draft again you’re going to lose a first round pick You’re going to get no compensation and you’re going to basically be stuck Why wouldn’t you take a second round pick form of compensation and just get get on with it get out of the situation I mean I I I don’t know I think I think it’s a great it’s it’s a great opportunity for the Eagles to be very very sneaky if Howie Roseman choose to And then this gives you another defensive end to play on that line which we know we know of course you know we know of course the Eagles could use that depth going forward Uh this is something that look I don’t expect it to happen I expect the kid wants to get paid and he doesn’t want to reenter the draft because if he re-enters the draft probably he may not get he may not go in the first round What if he went and opted out and then got reddrafted by the Bengals that would be such a ball buster But no uh it’s something it’s something to watch out for because it’s something I think only the Eagles could pull off The Eagles and maybe three or four other teams can pull something like that off But if but the Eagles what what makes me think that if that goes if that goes really bad for this kid and the Eagles can sneak up in there and you could get a first round pick for like let’s say like a second rounder or a third rounder when you got I mean they got so many they got what three third rounds next year Three third rounds gets you up and back into the second round if you need to get back in there Okay They got so much ammo they could actually pull this off It’s something to watch out for it It’s something that’d be interesting Another interesting thing that is very Howie like and and this is like this is probably more uh reasonable than what I just brought up but uh CBS Sports they did their contract and trade predictions right and uh they have predicted that Jaier Alexander is going to sign a one-year $16 million deal with the Eagles That’s right with the Eagles one year $16 million I don’t know I don’t know if the Eagles would do it for $16 million Uh I I don’t know if he would get $16 million because he’s been hurt for the last few years When you’re injured like that you’re hurt But I do think that Jaier Alexander most likely is not going to get the money he needs and then he’s going to go out and he’s going to sign a one-year contract with somebody on a prove it deal Okay So I could see him doing that I see somewhere around the 12 to 13 million range but I mean we’ll see a one-year deal I think the Eagles I would probably put the Eagles uh I’m not going to say the favorites but I would say top three Okay I wouldn’t put him number one And the reason I say that is because I think the Eagles like um I think the Eagles like uh I was going to say Johnny Ringo Johnny Ringo you look like somebody just walked all over your grave Fight’s not with you Holiday I begged the difference So we started a game We didn’t play to finish playful blow Remember anyways I’m thinking tombstone But Keely Ringo I think I think the Eagles like him more than people realize and I think he’s ready to to take the job However that would not stop me from signing Jer Alexander If I could I would let Ringo beat him out And if he can’t beat him out then he then that’s fine But if he can he can and maybe the health of Alexander is going to be a big problem but if you sign him on a one-year deal I think that what you could do it in a way that um isn’t going to kill you It it just really depends And and I’ve said this before on what do the Eagles think about Keely Ringo I think they like him more um more than people think However I do think that the depth um and the the ability to get a guy like that this time this point in the year to bring in and compete at that position is a good good thing for the Eagles So we’re going to have to see Uh but these are some interesting things two interesting things to watch heading in the next month in the train camp besides watching the Cowboy contract why this deal is not done yet it boils down to this The Bengals are trying to set a new precedent in terms of their contract language putting in and it’s complicated but the simplest way I can describe it is default language that if you mess up once it voids the rest of your contract They have not historically had that language in their contracts which surprises some people around the NFL because the Bengals have probably taken more chances from a character and background perspective on their high draft picks than anybody else over the past couple of decades here They’ve not had that that forfeite language that default language in place They’re trying to put it in the contract now Uh they did it across all their rookie deals the NFL Players Association in the past there was a big issue several years ago when a bunch of teams try to do this and the NFL PA advised all the agents hey don’t let your guys sign this because the moment that one first round pick signs it that then has the precedent that everybody else until the end of time is going to have to have that same language in their contract Does it come up very often no You Oh God No No I want to be like the Eagles
