Sunday Sensation | Bubic Dazzles, Royals Rally in Finale
Bailey over here looking to go out there and get his first win against the Kansas City Royals and it has been a battle in his career and his 11 starts against Kansas City 0 to 4 with a 59. It starts against the rest of the league. His er, a is just over 3.5. So this is a team that he would like to be able to control and feel good walking off the mound after six strong innings reaching and into right center field and that will be down for a hit and he has hit in nine straight and he’s on with two outs in the top of the first inning and brings up Salvador Perez. Now he’s shown off the high Royal blue sox, the pitch fastball high and there’s a balk that’s been called right as Ober was delivering the pitch, he gets called for a balk and Vinny Pascu goes to second, such are the subtleties of pitching. Any flinch, any twitch can be considered a balk. And that was the case for Ober that did he go? I think he did. You bet strike out of Perez at the top of the first inning is over. Ober works around a two out single and a balk. So coming into this year did not face the twins back in April but coming into this year, he’s one in five with a 5.27 a against Minnesota, 11. Jeffers to right down the line in the quarter that’s going to slice and, and one up off the wall. Ryan Jeffers in his second base , slotted good start leadoff double Jeffers now a seven game hitting streak and immediately the twins threaten in the opening inning against BBI outside France has feasted off Royals pitching this one smack to center field that’s going to land a base hit Jeffers rounding third. He will head home and Waters will concede and France adding to those great numbers, two batters in an RBI single and it’s one twins and the twins picking up right where they left off France reading Bubic rudely here in the opening frame, Jeffers scores easily and now it’s Correa still nobody out. Here’s the two swung on and missed strike three change up below the zone. Correa went fishing and came up empty and that’s inside for ball four. So who is averaging three walks per nine has allowed three of the first four twins hitters to reach. So France down to second and here comes JB swung on and missed strike three went with a changeup and got flailing two Ks now for in the bottom of the, that brings up Harrison Bader who had a big home run yesterday as he chops one to third base Garcia is up with it. He’ll go the short way to second on the other end. What away waters coming up? 32 called strike three was a changeup. Came in his front and dropped right across the two way for Nick Lof just added to the roster this weekend as the Royals designated hunter Simon second stint for Lofton with the big league club. Lofton punches it in the air deep to right center field mccusker and Boner converge. Neither can get there and one hops the fence and Lofton cruises into second with a two out double. His first hit at the big league level in 2025. It’s an opposite field, booming double. He’s in the scoring position with two out. Welcome back, Nick and now Michael in the air to right and the charge and one 19 pitches in the first inning. The command has not been as sharp so far today. Payoff pitch swung on and missed strike three. Got a flail at a change up. We’ve seen that swing a good amount, gets his third K. All of them have been with the change up and there’s one gone in the bottom of the second. Here’s the two swung on and missed strike three tied him up with a sweeper down and in four K’s for Bubic and brings up Willie Castro switch hitter batting right handed up the first base line pas there he scoops it up, takes it to the back himself and the inning is over. Here’s Bobby popped out foul his first time, first pitch swing and a lighter down the left field line that’s down for over to play is Castro Garcia goes first to third and Bobby is into second with a double and make it a 60 double for Bobby Wood Junior. That’s his 20th of the season to lead all of baseball. So a one out walk and now a double and the Royals have him 2nd and 3rd 1 out for Vinny. This one lined up the middle and Corea with a lunging catch made in the air. Carlos for just a second thinking, do I let it bounce or not realize Garcia good speed there at third. Don’t head long after it and he spears that ball before it can find the clay. And that’s a huge out number two. And this has been Kansas City’s problem runners in scoring position. They have left 26 men on so far in this series and two on now here in the third and lined to left field but right at Willie Castro and the inning is done, Perez dodged Royals leave a pair who was four strikeouts one walk. Jonah Bryant swinging his first time up in a called strike three with a sweeper and Jonah Bryant is run up and that strike out number five for on the day two up, two down 10 in a set down by called strike three. Got him looking at a fastball 94. They get six strikeouts for chris. We go to the fifth inning one twins for he’s thrown five scoreless innings. The Royals are down in order in the top of the halfway home at target field, bottom of the fifth next twins. One Royals nothing. It has been an incredible month of May for chris. He’s coming off seven shutout innings on the road against the Giants third time already this season that he’s thrown seven shutout innings, took a no hitter into the sixth inning against the Giants right down. The middle called strike three. Custer is down looking at a fastball seven K’s for booch and now he’s retired 13 in a row. Three of the first four reached and Minnesota had a 1 to 0 lead and nobody has reached base since and Castro swings and misses in a changeup strike 38 K’s for Bubic through five innings of water on ball. And now retired 14 consecutive batters Bailey over against the Royals in his career. 11 starts 04 with a 590 a swing and a liner down the right and it’s off the side wall. Drew Waters makes the turn. He’ll go to second standing up with a double to start the seventh inning and so Drew Waters as his sixth double on the year second hit of the day. And the Royals have another opportunity with the runner in scoring position in this case, with nobody down in Nick and France crashing into the quarters and this is smack two. France makes a great play and takes it to the back for the out holding its second base is waters. He was in on the grass about 55 ft away. So often said I’ll just shoot it by him like a hockey goal to the glove side. He picked it up on a skip off. Looks the runner back and takes the out. That is a great play popped up foul off of Third Bride measuring from grass to dirty as that’s the number Danny in this series is runners in scoring position. It’s zero for six. Now for the Royals, here’s for me and a swing and a liner in the left center for a base hit coming around third, coming in to score is Drew Waters. Freddie goes to second base as it’s into left center. Harrison Bader had to go a long way to get there and the game is tied 11 on an RB I double by freddie Fermin and the leadoff double is not wasted. Freddie Fermin ties the game in the seventh and the Royals pick up their first hit with a runner in scoring position. Today it scores Waters and it’s a 1 to 1 game and Rocco Baldelli will lift over from the game. Varland coming in. Bailey was great again today but the bullpen is taking over Varland takes over 11 score and Michael garcia is the batter for Kansas City zero to two on the ground to shortstop on a big backhands. The glove goes to first inning over job well done for that is now 18 in a row. He has retired and a breaking ball called strike three with a sweeper. Nine strikeouts equals his career high. He’s had all the pitches working today. The changeup has been the star of the show. He’s thrown that more than anything else, which is what you’d expect facing a lineup of entirely right handed hitters. But that sweeper that back door sweeper to a right handed batter has been such a crucial weapon for him this season and that last one was perfect and a swing , fly ball shallow left center waters on the run. Can he get there? Yes, he can. Waters runs it down and Chris finishes with a 123, seven is two for three. He doubled down the first base line in the seventh and scored the Lone Royals run 11. Our score top nine, Rocco looking on the 11 game ninth inning two strike pitch ground ball up the middle Korea from the second base side, glove spins and France had to come off the bag and Waters is safe. The Royals forever. They always had a blazing speed option for late in game scenarios. And right now it is Dyron Blanco runner goes and the pitch a strike throw to second base to catch the tag and he’s out ryan scheffer with a dark to second base seventh runner. He has thrown out this year and Blanco is out number two and this one dumped in the air to right field, nick coming out, he’ll dive and Trevor Larn with one of the best defensive plays he has made in the outfield in his career. It was Trevor Larned who dove onto the short grass in right field to make a wonderful lunging catch in the history of Minnesota Twins baseball. They have never had a three game sweep of an opponent with all three wins coming in walk off fashion better time than now. Swing and Miss strike three. Esteves got him with a 96 mile an hour heater and the Royals head for the happiest 10th inning of the season tied at one target field. We’re going to extra innings with flames on the video board means juan Durant is now into the ballgame Twins playing their fifth extra in a game this season. They’re 2 to 2 and Durant takes over in a 1 to 1 game. Top 10 Garcia has hit safely in nine straight but he’s zero for three today. And he’s been the Royals best hitter this season in terms of average with runners in scoring position and a swing and a liner in the left field, a base hit here comes Lofton around third. Here’s a home garcia with a 10 game hit streak drives in his 25th run of the year and the Royals lead for the first time today 2 to 1 here in the 10th. So now the batter will be Bobby junior chopper shortstop charge from Correa Highs to first gets the streaking down the line to end the inning. But the Royals play that lead runner, they lead 21 to become the run at first base. And here’s Harrison Bader. Two career walk off hits for Bader most recently with the Mets. That was last year in May of 2024. This is hit to short, better hurry with second for one. Mass’s return is not in time. So Clemens out at second Bader safe and Correa the tying run now 90 ft away and right now with 1st and 3rd, last night’s walk off here, brooks Lee Bader runs and the pitch and they will throw to second base and Bader is safe. That was really close. But now you have the winning run that are on second base. So Brooks Lee, a base hit could win it and a swing and a grounder that skips off the mound. Bobby plays it on the short hop , fires to first and the Royals win the ball game, they win it 2 to 1 in 10 innings. Taylor Clark gets it done and the Royals find a way.
Kris Bubic struck out 9 over 7.0 innings of 1-run ball, and the Royals rallied late to beat the Twins in extras in the series finale.

This guy is a beast
The royals could be such an insane team if our batting with runners in scoring position was better
Finally a win this afternoon for the Royals. You guys need to start winning more games if you want to go back to the playoffs again coming up this October and you guys can go it and have some faith in you guys so GO,Fight, Win. Forever RoyalsπβΎοΈπ₯ππΆπππ₯Έπ€ππβΊοΈππ
Please extend Bubic. Between him, Ragans, Wacha and Cameron we could have the starting rotation solved for years to come.
If this team can figure out how to be just mediocre offensively, they will easily win 90 games with this staff.
Bubic is a blessing to this organization
If I see us hit a ball hard right at someone with RISP i may lose my mind lol.
Good win royals. Bubic is basically like the ace of the staff I feel like basically 10kβs almost every start. I like the way the royals are using their farm teams. Iβm still hoping to get to at least a game this season in KC. Go royals.

The Royals have no hitting period. Not playoff worthy.
I love Loftin's intensity. He wasn't even a part of either of those back breaking losses, yet still is amped up after scoring that go-ahead run. Good to have that kind of energy on the team, it sometimes feels like the guys sleep walk thru some of these games.
My Royals are finding ways to win βΌοΈπͺ letβs get the bats rolling a little better to help the dominant pitching β & Kris Bubic is literally unhittable easily KCβs best
At least they avoided the sweep. Now if only we could be a little more consistent in our offense. Our pitching is great, but the bats need to come alive. Its sad they left so many runners on base. You need to start getting runners home
I'm so happy for Bubic, the dude has become a complete pitcher. His stuff is absolutely nasty.
I look forward to seeing Caglianone batting at the K βΎπ§’π
