The Detroit Pistons won their first championship 36 years ago today 🏆

last year the Pistons had a 3-2 lead but couldn’t win one of the last two Now they’ll do it World champs The Lakers are the standard bearsers of the sport in the 1980s with five titles But this is the Detroit Pistons night Uh they just smothered the Lakers over the last three quarters Nick Tonight the state of Michigan is the basketball capital of the world And here inside the Pistons locker room a victorious team that battled all the way to a seventh game last year before losing And this year they have done it four in a row Uh we worked hard for it Uh that was our purpose coming into this season From day one we wanted to get here and here we are

  4. I'm Detroit born and Alabama raised. In 91 after Magic made his announcement I was in high school and went to school the next day with my Pistons hat on and just smiled and lots of my friends were Lakers fans. They looked at me in disgust and said F*ck u and Don't even say nothin! 🤷🏽‍♂️😁
