Dallas Cowboys Fans Get TROUBLING Micah Parsons Contact Extension Update In Latest Cowboys News

it is Father’s Day so to celebrate I want you guys to all shout out your dad in the comment section of today’s show show him some love here on the Cowboys Report we’re talking Micah Parsons on today’s show on Father’s Day big shout out to my dad John another day another update this one doesn’t sound great uh in the Micah Parson’s contract situation saga drama whatever we want to call it here Micah told Clarence Hill that the Cowboys waiting is just going to end up costing them more which is a refrain that we have heard from a lot of us over the past many years when it comes to contracts for the Cowboys now the reason behind this one is the TJ Watt situation which isn’t a new thing by the way either but it’s all coming to the forefront now micah claims that TJ Watt is asking for more than what Micah and Jerry Jones had initially discussed in their not so secret meeting part of this to me does feel a little bit like Micah’s playing and maybe even just outright winning the PR contract battle against the Cowboys which I think is part of what’s going on here because how often have we as fans media whatever especially me complained about the waiting and how it doesn’t benefit the Cowboys and I do think the threat which I think is what it is at this point of having to pay more than what you previously thought is a valid one to an extent and not even to an extent the reality is the Cowboys have already paid more by waiting on the Micah Parsons contract i don’t think it’s a guarantee that they end up having to pay more than what they are currently allotting or currently planning to do but it is a possibility of it which raises the whole issues of why it doesn’t make sense for this game to continue to drag out and to wait training camp is a little over a month away you know June 20th 21st 22nd kind of reporting days there will Micah Parsons get paid before training camp with the Dallas Cowboys this is the pinned comment on today’s show so go vote why for yes and for no sound off in the comments of this video now part of this report from Clarence Hill which was good by the way reports Mike is perplexed by the delay in a deal which I actually very much get from his perspective and I think the lack of a deal is part of why this stuff is coming out and why Micah is talking as a reminder of the contract timeline of what has happened in the past like month and a half forget the exact date it was there was the secret meeting uh which you know Micah’s brother was was tweeting about and hinting at and telling people about there was that secret meeting and if you had talked to probably Micah he probably thought a deal was very close to happening they did talk contract they didn’t have a true handshake deal because there were still things to fine-tune but like the general framework everybody was on board with the numbers we’ve shown in the past and we’ll show later on in today’s video everyone involved knew what the rough cost was going to be and Parsons told the Cowboys “Hey call my agent let’s get this done.” And according to what Parsons has said they haven’t yet which is weird but also not weird cuz it’s the Cowboys and why I pumped the brakes when this stuff first happened because it’s the Cowboys contract negotiation it’s never as easy as it should be the reality is this deal could have been done weeks ago it’s not actually that hard of a deal to get done it’s kind of easy for as large of a contract as this is putting it in in that framework I think is worth me mentioning but there’s been a dragging of the feet really from all parties because all it takes is the agent to call the Joneses and the Joneses to call the agent to get the ball rolling here but that dragging of the feet only benefits one side in terms of what the money looks like it obviously benefits the Cowboys if they don’t want to pay Micah but everyone wants to get paid so it only benefits him which is again part of the issue I always have with this team with contracts is that they seem to think they’ve got more leverage than they actually do and then they cave the Cowboys have a reputation when it comes to contracts of being an organization that if you just wait them out they will cave and that’s a bad thing i do think Michael wants this done i think the agent wants it done at the pace he wants to go with and the Cowboys want it done but I think for Micah I think part of why this came out is he’s trying to help force the Cowboys hand he’s trying to get them to operate with something resembling urgency i genuinely don’t believe Michael wants the camp drama he’s hyper competitive and I mean that in a positive way he wants to be out there he doesn’t want to have to do the Holden thing where he does a one day of drills and has to sit out he doesn’t want to do that but he wants to get paid he’s not naive in that sense uh today’s show is made possible by Chubbies summer is here and life’s too short for uncomfortable swim trunks so these babies from Chubbies are set up for all day comfort with a quick dry stretch fabric and a built-in liner that actually does its job there’s no more chafing there’s no more soggy butt no more mesh again the argument here for Micah is other guys are due for new deals tj Watt most notably stands out i do think 800 is worth mentioning i don’t think he gets as much as Micah Parsons at least not this offseason maybe next off seasonason if that’s the path they pursue but it is worth mentioning hendrickson will not but it’s just another player you have to be aware of but Hendrickson I don’t think is going to be in the same market i don’t think even he’s asking to be in the same market the current highest paid non-quarterbacks per year this is the market we are in the player of this caliber it is Jamar Chase at $40.25 million per year guaranteed money matters oh so much and is probably a bigger sticking point for the Steelers and Watt given the Steelers history uh in terms of just the non-G guarantee of the guaranteed money 123.6 six for Miles Garrett which is again the big mistake the Cowboys made if was not getting the deal done before Miles Garrett imagine imagine if the Cowboys had operated with urgency this off season and they had said “Michael we want to get you done let’s blow you away with the contract offer.” Imagine if they had overpaid by the amount the Browns did for Miles Garrett before the Garrett deal before the Chase deal got done now you’re looking at Michael would have lasted a month as the highest paid non-QuB then he would have been three because Garrett would have beaten him and Jamar Chase would have beaten him but the Cowboys didn’t operate with urgency they’ve in a way already mostly paid the tax for not operating with urgency and waiting and dragging out that particular contract we are 325 subs away from 217,000 here on the Cowboys report help us get there hit that sub button at youtube.com/cowboystv the Cowboys have zero benefits by continuing to wait for the Micah Parsons extension it doesn’t help them in any way shape or form to drag this out and not get the deal done waiting on this has already cost them more money by waiting for the Miles Garrett by waiting for the Jamar Chase situation it’s costs them money relative to what it hypothetically could have been before this the worstc case scenario right now is that TJ Watt gets more than Miles Garrett and now as Mike is kind of alluding and threatening to the price has gone up it costs even more now now there’s no guarantee that TJ Watt gets what he wants you know Mike is saying he’s seen the numbers and it’s more than what he’s been asking for but there’s also a 0% chance that Micah Parsons takes less than TJ Watt so there’s nothing to gain here the worst case is you you pay more the best case is you pay what you were going to pay why jeopardize it everyone knows this deal is happening there’s no trade there’s no threat that’s not in the cards it’s not the plan from anybody so get the deal done and get it done soon i don’t want to deal with this ah we’re generating attention we’re leading ESPN who cares win football games do the things competent organizations do and not just play for clicks it’s 2025 you don’t need them anymore so be honest here there’s a variety of answers you can have what is your confidence level in the Cowboys paying Micah before training camp one to 10 in the comments section of today’s show i think within a couple million dollars either way if that much we know what the deal is going to look like the biggest thing is is this a four-year deal is it a five-year deal you know at minimum it’s going to be $40.5 million per year and this assumes you get done before TJ Watt potentially increases the contract cost there the average per year is maybe 42.5 you know maybe Micah goes a little bit less on the guaranteed money or maybe the average per year is higher and or lower and the guaranteed money goes up but it’s going to look something in this range that’s not wouldn’t be a surprise to be honest with you guys I don’t like doing these videos i’d rather go super hard into the minutia of like how things look at training camp or getting set for training camp like I don’t find these fun frankly to complain again about the complain about for months now i get it it’s a dead print in the NFL calendar there’s really not that much going that’s why we’re doing the Madison right but like another like ah you know Micah’s unhappy you know complaining about the contract like that’s not fun it’s not good i would so much rather have to deal with a illtimed the breaking news deal done video because I’m out with the wife and kid or something than this on a Sunday morning like I don’t expect the agent to be proactive here it’s not his job frankly his job is to get the most money for for his client and the Cowboys just helping him do that for some reason like the Micah has the leverage i get the Cowboys have two franchise tags okay like that’s actually not a good thing for you to use like that limits your own creativity and spending and flexibility so I simply need the Cowboys to be proactive one time just one time do it don’t drag this out go pay him instead

Cowboys news today focuses on the Micah Parsons contract situation. Parsons spoke with Clarence Hill at the end of Cowboys minicamp and offered a troubling update on his contract. Parsons claims the Cowboys are going to end up costing themselves more if they don’t get his deal done, citing what TJ Watt is currently asking for from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Is this another leverage/PR move by Parsons to get Jerry Jones to finish the deal? Cowboys Report host Tom Downey reacts!

Cowboys news on the Micah Parsons contract extension:
– Micah Parsons told Clarence Hill the Cowboys waiting is “going to cost them more”
– Micah claims TJ Watt is asking for more than what Micah & Jerry had discussed
– Clarence Hill reports Micah Parsons is perplexed by the delay in a deal
– Parsons & Jones Boys had a “secret” meeting in the past, with the two sides talking contract.
– They didn’t have a true handshake deal but were on board with terms
– Parsons told the Cowboys to call his agent … and they haven’t yet. So, no deal.

The Cowboys have zero benefits on waiting for a new contract. The worst case is T.J. Watt again resets the market for non-QBs and the Cowboys have to pay more. The “best case” is that nothing changes. So why wait?

  2. Parson agent works for Parsons, why can’t Parsons tell his agent call the Jones’s or your fired it works both ways it’s just not all on the Jones’s!!

  3. Dragging out contracts and being talked about daily on all these shows must net them a sizable profit or they wouldn't do it the way they do. They're the most valuable franchise in all of sports for a reason and it's surely not championships.
