Honestly just go all in on Lou. At the very least he’ll bring some decent culture to Buffalo even if he’s kinda past it.

I think the Sabres should be consolidating assets at this point. I mean, it hasn’t gone well, but there’s most definitely some really good players on the roster and on the way to the roster. They’ve already lost a bunch of guys trading them for futures that just adds to the list of prospects they can’t use because they have too many guys.
How crazy is Peterka and Byram for Jason Robertson and Matt Dumba? That legitimately seems like a good deal for both teams depending on the contracts Peterka and Byram sign for and Buffalo can either buy out Dumba or see if they can extract some value out of him.
If I’m Buffalo, I’m going all in on Elias Petterson too. I don’t get the feeling that would work, but they certainly have the assets to make it worth their while in Vancouver. They should be willing to deal any of Peterka, Quinn, Norris, Krebs, Benson, Kulich, Byram, Samuelsson, Clifton, pretty much any of their already drafted prospects, they’re about to make ANOTHER top 10 pick but who says they have to make that one too. I think they have to do something bold and they couldn’t possibly use all of the guys they have. Pick your guys, trade the others for a sure thing talent, even if it’s an overpay. If the Nucks aren’t sure on Petterson, how do they say no to like Byram, Krebs, Quinn, prospect, and the 9th pick. Buffalo would still have more than enough left on the roster to surround them with a competent supporting cast.
NYR should not be looking to Buffalo for Byram or Peterka, they should be looking at a guy like McLeod. NYR have plenty of scoring up top and McLeod excels at faceoffs, penalty killing, and physical play, being particularly good in back checks and transitional play. He’s almost guaranteed to go for a lower AAV than Byram or Peterka and he’d be a menace on the same line with Cuylle. Mika looked great on the wing and the Rangers absolutely need more grit and defense in their top 9.
