“Sources say that the Raptors would be willing to part with either RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley for a significant roster upgrade.

Several league figures with knowledge of the Raptors' thinking have likewise asserted that they could show a willingness to move center Jakob Poeltl as well … provided that the trade in question brought back Durant.”

  1. Key word is “significant”, I doubt we’d move on from Poeltl without having another center coming back in a deal, ditto IQ given I doubt we plan on starting Jamal Shead in Year 2

Even in the Durant trade scenario and whether or not it’s a good idea (It’s not), we’d need to make a subsequent move to acquire a center to start for us like Gafford or Mark Williams

  2. IQ I’d imagine we only trade for like a star PG. Trae, LaMelo, Garland, etc. His value to us is much higher than his value on the trade market because we have no one else who can do what he can. Plus he had an injury riddled and relatively disappointing season so his value is probably quite low given his contract.

RJ yeah we all know we’d be willing to trade given current roster construction and salary spots on the team.

Poeltl, I continue to say if you trade Poeltl in a KD trade it needs to be a multi team deal with a C coming back as well. Can’t take the risk of plugging that hole later if you’re trading for KD.

  3. This report just points to we are open to an RJ + Jak for KD trade. Would need to find a replacement for Jak but we might be in that situation anyway if we don’t want to give him 30+ mill a year on his new contract.

  4. ROFL, oh so they’d be willing to give up Poeltl to get Durant? Alert the internet!

  5. Seems like Masai is gonna do a desperate and stupid trade that will put the team back another half a decade to try and keep his job.

  6. yes Jake Fischer, I think all teams are willing to part with the 100th best player in the NBA for a significant roster upgrade.

  7. RJ’s more likely to be traded for KD than IQ

RJ would be a great piece for the Suns considering the other rumoured teams won’t trade any of their fairly important young guys

Spurs, Heat and Rockets seemingly want to keep a fairly integral guys in Sochan, Ware or Jabari respectively

Wouldn’t be surprised if Memphis get KD as a dark horse, especially considering their increased assets now after the Bane trade

  8. isnt Poeltl exactly what the suns want? Might actually be a solid package for them. Poeltl + their pick this year + one of their less talented youngsters

  9. We need a ban on Raptors leaks.

The entire league knows everyone on your team is available and you want to trade. We don’t need to read anymore: “The Raptors could move Scotty if Giannis is in the table.”

    Everyone knows

  10. I don’t get the logic of moving Poetl for a 1 year rental in KD. Barrett can go but you need a quality big man, the Suns learned that

  11. They should really move Barrett since they just got Ingram. Barrett Barnes Ingram makes no sense

  12. The Raptors will not be moving Poeltl unless they get a good center back. Not having an actual Center was teh bane of the team after Gasol retired.

  13. I’d do Jrue, Hauser + Top 4 projected 2026 1st for RJ if the Porzingis deal saves a lot of money, but the Raptors are for sure after bigger fish.

  14. Anyone could’ve told you that. The question is who wants to take on IQ or RJ’s money? And also IQ’s value is significantly lower now that he’s been paid than it was in the past (not even mentioning his injury issues).

They can net something. But is it something that’d be worth it for the team?

  15. I could see them being a potential landing spot for Ja Morant, but that’s only if Memphis is moving away from him and JJJ (which I assume they will be)

  16. why are all these shitty teams trying to get KD?? he is not enough to change any teams fortunes at this age.

  17. Would like Quickley as PG for the Wolves, but not sure what the Raps are looking for
