slate in the MLB so the game that we’re going to break down is the Philadelphia Phillies traveling to the Miami Marlins right now we have the listed pitchers is Abel against Alcantara the overunder is 8 and a half so Jay why don’t you give us the the prediction because I know you said you wanted to do the total and the reasoning behind it yeah so I uh the Phillies versus Marlins uh I like over eight and a half runs uh there are four reasons why so there’s pitching volatility so Abel is driving and can throw strikeouts but he’s still a rookie arcantara is a boomer but as he had multiple outings that had given four plus runs I expect him to do the same thing versus Philly’s offense there’s a trend the Phillies trending over in the past five games three to two over u this trend will at least continue on this matchup and there will be a bullpen pressure the able if if able is early or Arena gets hit the Boopin gets involved i’m the backing the odds for extra runs and obviously the offensive power the Phillies lineup is capable of multi-run innings miami bats have shown life lately so I’m taking over eight and a half runs here there you have it guys take the over eight and a half runs in the listed pitchers make sure the pitchers are listed and I’m going to be asking Jay uh actually I have a question about how the difference of pitchers matter as well but it’s Abel versus Alcantara now Jay Jay um Alcantara and Abel you have completely two ends of the spectrum here you have somebody that is a rookie that is coming into the league and trying to find his you know his sea legs I guess you could call it of trying to how to how to get through this long season and having a lot of starts against a veteran that has had a lot of success like you said boomer bust this year but is there a way you handicap that where it’s such a young guy versus a veteran yeah so I I think this is a very interesting one let’s so let’s reflect to our game so Ael has delivered a standout MLB debut striking out nine batters over six scoreless innings showing potential but still in the adjustment phase arantara a former 2022 Sion winner is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and has been struggling so on this case I like neidor pitchers leaned over eight and a half runs then from that point I considered other factors to finalize my pick so hope this helps you build foundation on you know an analyzing a baseball game and hope I hope that helps yeah I mean it what h what it comes down to is analyzing these games has so many different layers to it it’s not just a football game i feel like there’s less layers to it it’s more about um price value if you’re getting a better price on a football game on a Monday traditionally um we’re scaling it over thousands and thousands of games if you’re getting a better price on Monday versus the closing line on Sunday that’s really the most important in football in baseball there’s just so many different layers about weather um obviously trends how these teams perform how they perform in certain spots i feel like there’s more datadriven analytics when it comes to baseball than any other sport so hearing your insight always um you know I learned from a lot of it as well because the way I anticipate the way I uh attack baseball is much different than you do so hearing another side of it is I I’ve always learned in this industry you can’t be close-minded there’s plenty of ways to attack a game from a value side versus a analytical side versus a spot and situation side so there’s not really a
