home will have himself his 10th double of the season and Alec Bow who has been red hot remains redot that’ll bring up Nick Castanos cast yesterday a grand slam his seventh homer of the season second grand slam this year and he bats here with a man in scoring position and one out as Alcantra comes to the belt look back at second and now delivers fit down low ball one contra 29 years of age 6’5 right-hander swing minimus this all of last season recovering Tommy John’s surgery after making 28 starts the prior year one ball and one strike one on one out and one in the pitch link and a miss interesting with Sandy Alcantra and I’ve got a lot of notes i’ve talked to a lot of people today about Sandy and he’s struggled this year i keep calling him Sandy like I know him i don’t know him people he’s not like my best friend but yeah without contra one of the things with him I just think it’s still a recovery issue with the arm right so for him it’s always been command he’s always been throw you know throws 98 99 it’s never been an issue of that but he’s always been so good at keeping the ball on the edges of the plate getting ahead of hitters this year he hasn’t the last two games he’s getting better that’s it one two pitch swung on poked out into center dane Meyers coming on still coming in he will dive and he makes the catch great grab dane Meyers on the dead run lunging forward to make a shoestring catch as Alec Holmes scampers back to second base one thing about the Marlins that you know they it’s not an ability issue that these guys but they’re young they’re young they’re fast they can run the bases a little bit they take chances a lot of chances that was a chance that ball gets by him that’s trouble play so two gone and here’s Max Kepler kepler who had a good home standing to show some signs of life at the plate takes a called strike kepler who has faced Sandy Alcantra four times he’s got a hit the homer and three walk one pitch and that one is a little bit high of the ball and it’s one ball and one strike average at 220 eight homers 25 runs batted in big home run on Saturday night for the Phil here’s the pitch hung on ground ball hit the first near the line it’s scooped by Wagaman it’ll take it to the bag and Kepler retired for the final out phillies get on the board first thanks to Trey Turner’s second leadoff home run of the season two hits in the inning and a man left and we’ll go to the bottom of the first it’s the Phillies one and the Marlins coming up get ready to hit it out of the park every time you fire up the grill this spring with Hatfield swing into action great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts went into right down the line it may go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the three-2 and a home run by the Wizard catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com take a hack at guessing which baseball player or managers follow i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com off base is coming in a brand new format join Lauren Balance sundays at 11:30 Eastern for Mick Ael right-handed 1 and0 2.35 RA for seaming curve ball sinker and Fighter a little change really doesn’t throw it that much force upstairs that’s a pitch he’s been working on trying to get that ball down secondary is down below versus the Cubs he pitched well but man any mistake he made boy the Cubs made him pay this is brought to you by SEPTA SEPTA is the Philly way to go he’s got a one- nothing lead to start and Xavier Edwards takes the first pitch fast for strike nothing in one count it’ll be Edwards Sanchez and Lopez do up here for the Marlins going for their fourth win in a row here’s the pitch from Ael it’s swung on driven to center straight away but playable as Brandon Marsh to his right a few steps makes the catch and there’s one away otto Kemp at first base Bryson Scott at second Trey Turner the shortstop and Alec Bolm over at third base in the outfield it’s Kepler back in left field tonight marshian center Nick Castianos who dhaged yesterday he’s out in right field and behind the plate it’s Raphael Maran doing the catching for Mick Ael as the righties pitch on away to Jesus Sanchez and it’s fast ball in for a called strike hitting .257 this year he’s got six home runs able turns kicks and deals in the pit that’s a little bit high and it’s one ball on one strike sanchez who set a careerhigh in homers and runs batted in last year pit breaking ball oh that’s in first strike and it’s one and two and Sanchez calls time and steps out one thing Nick Ael was able to do against the Cubs and that’s kind of survive and his first real in-game struggle at the big league level and uh didn’t let it unravel that’s big still trying to figure this big league stuff out be honest with you one two pitch and it’s swung on fouled straight back i mean one of the things starting pitchers and I’ve talked about this before I’m sure Larry has is it’s it’s always a challenge to figure out how you’re going to get your out where where in the nine guys that are hitting can you find your outs he’s still learning that process one two pitch and this one’s smoke foul down the first base line valiant attempt by the ball boy down there but uh unable to come up with it and has to go all the way to the wall in the right field corner to get it one and two the count on the left-handed hitting Jesus Sanchez able into the windup and the righty’s pitch breaking ball and this one’s hooked foul again and again the look of disgust right by the ball boy and he’s got to make that same trip i thought you were going to say he’s got to make that play well he does well that was a tough one it was a tough one it hit the railing on the side and the kid had missed it and he knew right away you just see it in his body language like a I got to make that run again one two pitch that’s down and in i think what what he should do is look at Jesus Sanchez’s and point into fair territory hey hit it in there that might be neck the 2- two fouled away sanchez with the 18 homers last year hit 252 always been a guy that is much better against right-handed pitching we may not see a whole lot of him after today the two and he tried to check but couldn’t hold up and a strikeout of Sanchez is now number two the Phillies are going to go with three straight left-handed starters after Ael tonight so uh may not be many starts for Sanchez after this one but so two up two down and here’s Otto Lopez lopez who’s now the everyday shortstop for Miami calls time before the pitch delivered and uh steps out of the box this is like This is like watching the US Open golf the other day where the round was almost seven hours at this rate we’re on that kind of pace aren’t we pitch and that’s up and in one ball and no strikes lopez hitting .237 with six homers one- nothing Phillies lead it but that one’s a little bit high fast ball he likes to use that fast ball at the top of the zone he hardly ever throws his four seamer down in the zone wind up and the two fouled off these Marlins like to swing so it’s one thing they don’t uh they don’t have real high strikeout numbers offensively as they tend to get after it put the ball in play here’s the 2-1 and Lopez fouls one back he’s back and out of play and it’s two and two yeah they have some unique numbers when you look at them that kind of define who they are when we talk about being young give an example of that they’re fast they kind of do I dare say still learning the game they’ve been caught stealing for example 24 times 2-2 swung on hit in the air center field but playable again for Marsh this time in right center he’s under it and he’ll make the catch there’s a one two three start for Mick Ael as the Marlins go in order and we’ll go to the second it’s one- nothing Phillies just like a strong moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts one to right down the line it may go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the three to two and a home run by the Wizards catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahad home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this and more on the MLB app and MLB.com let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo do you know what it means obo Taco a home run hit to the opposite field with an oppo taco his 13th it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com play here sports Radio 94 WIP we go to the second inning phillies with a one to nothing lead thanks to a leadoff home run by Trey Turner and Otto Kemp leads off for the Phillies here takes a breaking ball from Sandy Alcantra hemp Scott Sto and Marawn do up here for the Phillies and the pitch fouled off let’s pause for station identification this is the Phillies radio network Philadelphia powered by the Tasty Cake Studios the home of the Phillies 94 WIP and Odyssey sports station with Kevin Stalker i’m Scott Fransky with you from Lone Depot Park here in Miami santiago Rodriguez our engineer in the booth francisco Rojas our engineer back in our studios phillies leading it one to nothing on a leadoff homer by Trey Turner the O2 pitch to Kemp swung on fouled back stays alive and it’s still nothing at two kemp with his first ever four hit game in the big league yesterday four for five average at 345 coming into play tonight as he is 10 for 29 the O2 again fouled away again and keep in mind he went 0 for five to start his major league career so his last six games 10 for 24 pretty good uh way to introduce yourself to the fans at your home ballpark right no doubt you too and it’s swung on fouled away to the right side you know it’s interesting because I mean Otto Cam for example here’s Sandy Alcantra they he’s never seen Alcantra right so and but the same goes for the pitch alcantra he’s just going on scouting reports he still has to figure out they don’t know each other yet so if you’re a hitter like he is he’s taking advantage of that it’s been terrific two again and that misses outside a breaking ball there there will be a time when you get enough at bats and enough people have seen you and they’ll find the holes that they’ll start to kind of turn that around next pitch is fouled off and the Phillies working that pitch count up here early against Alcatra a long at bat for Otto Kemp that was pitch number seven contra who’s uh been roughed up a bit by the Phillies here in the last few times they’ve faced off the pitch swinging a ground ball to right side to his left edwards he’ll scoop it and throw out Kemp throws one away well on the mound today the Padres’s right-hander Dylan Ce versus Dodger Shi Otani last pitched August 23rd 2023rd with the Angels now he’s just going to be an opener but that’s big for them because the Dodgers have all kinds of pitching problems right now so he might be able to fill a few innings anyway sponsored by the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism find your WOW right now visit NJ.org here’s Bryson Scott and Scott takes a little bit wide for ball one scott who was hitless yesterday but saw 31 pitches in his over the 10 pitch did for called strike i would imagine he would trade some of those pitches for a hit or two yeah look they’re great at bats but they’re great at bats only for a while one-1 and a swing at a popup this is foul out of play third base side that’s uh pretty standard fair right now for Bryson a lot of foul balls the other way he’s just having he’s close and I know that sounds silly right it’s like okay fine when’s he going to get it but he’s right now he’s having a hard time just getting on top of the baseball for whatever reason small little tweak they’re working on it trying to keep you tall here’s the one two and that’s up high two balls two strikes contra glove on his left hand into his windup now deals the two- two and it’s swung on hit in the air left center dane Meyers going over he’s calling for it the center fielder will make the catch round number two that’ll bring up Raphael Marsh who gets a start behind the plate today for the Phils 18 putting in a lot of innings over the weekend and they’re in the home stamp maran getting a chance to start here tonight 14th start of the season he takes the first pitch from Alcantra a little bit wide for ball one one- nothing Phillies in front the pitch and he takes that’s a called strike one and one the count aran did pick up a hit over the weekend and late at that wind up by Alcantra in the 1-1 that’s a breaking ball down low two and one count marlins in their full home white uniform miami across the chest black caps logo out front two-1 pitch that one’s the strike called Brian Onor it’s two and two let’s just call timeout slow it down some more i think I think at least half of the hitters have used their timeout we’ve seen the uh we’ve had a couple that needed extra time schwarber for the foul off his foot otto Kemp for his equipment not to mention the errors made by the ball on the line you got nowhere to be i think in uh today’s MLB score and now uh they’re not settled on the sign so Liam Hicks is going to go run out to talk about Contra uh you seem very impatient tonight Stocking i want to see some baseball you have had all this time off and uh had a week off like you’re just raring to go I guess like what’s happened in six days a lot ah a lot when when we last left you uh things were the train was headed off the cliff that’s true two- two pitch and that’s inside and the count is full three and two as things can change quickly in this game full count two outs base is empty alcantra’s payoff pitch hung on fouled away third base side norby gives it a look but it’s a souvenir you know what that is when you talk about impatience it’s the player that’s still in me a little bit so whenever we played behind some pitcher out lighters of the world you know whatever whoever it is sometimes when it got so slow it was so aggravating but we could go to the mound and talk to the pitcher and say “Hey speed it up let’s get going.” That sort of thing because it just gets so ramped up a another 3-2 and it’s fouled off again off his foot he’s going to need a minute and Brian Onora is making good work of that uh the handy back pocket brush he’s going to get it out and dust off the plate again and now Marawn ready to go and here’s the 3-2 and that’s a call third strike and Marawn down on strike and that’ll do it for the Phillies a one two three top of the second we’ll go to the bottom of the frame it’s the Phillies one and the Marlins nothing let’s see if we can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means oppo taco a home run hit to the opposite field taco 13th and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts went information visit phillies.com nick Ael after a long wait through a one two three inning delivers a first pitch and it’s a first pitch ground ball to first diving stop by Otto Kemp he’ll get up and toss it to Mick Ael and there’s one away that’ll speed things up for you that perfect Ramirez youngster they got him last year from the Yankees big power prospect he’s already got 10 homers good catcher the D8 is the lot here’s Kyle Sters sters 276 hitter with 10 home runs in the pit is in there for a cold strike sters left-handed batter time called for some reason or another batter calls timeout we’re going to point it out now for you every time here’s the 01 break the ball tech swing they ask at third he held up sour three for nine against the Phillies in the series earlier this season last year he really struggled in the six games the Phillies saw him and for his career so far against the Phillies he’s 5 for 31 with 15 strikeouts here’s the one-1 and that is up and away for a ball had a great conversation the other day with my son who was in town we were talking about lineups and he was asking me about consistency having the guys in the lineup hitting in the same spot that sort of a thing next pitch breaking ball swinging a miss and I and the Marlins and we’ve talked about it today they have used what is it 70 different lineups yes that’s true but they’ve only played 70 games wait a minute that makes it even worse here’s the 2-2 and it’s swung on and hooked down the right field line that’s a base hit it’s going to go to the corner and Sters on his way to second he’s thinking about third castanos’s throw back into relay to third is late and Sters with a triple into the right field corner his third triple of the year i I am blocked from the right field line i don’t know what happened to Nick down in the down in that corner but the throw coming into the relay man which was like just a lazy little throw i don’t know if he flipped it but you see down in the corner no he totally is i mean Bryson was waiting and waiting and waiting yeah so he he was running away from the throw Nick which is fine but as an infielder if you’re Bryson Scott you have to recognize that and go out get out there to receive that baseball phillies draw the infield in with one out and a runner at third eric Wagaman the batter in the pitch is in there for a called strike sters who was fooled badly and missed badly on the previous pitch got a hanging curveball and it was dead middle of the plate able checks at third now deals with the pitch swung on and foul tip hung on to by Marawn yeah and to finish that thought with all the lineups I think of all the players Sters has moved around the lineup maybe the most just when he gets hot they move him and I think that’s been a little bit of trouble for him on the year nothing to the count the pitch swing of the miss they got him and a big strike out there with a man at third base is Mc Aable back to get Wagaman for the second out by the way if you’re curious it was just a few years ago three years ago the Detroit Tigers uh went the first 110 game using a different starting lineup to start the season the first 110 games the first pitch is in for a strike so the Marlins have a long way to go they’re well they’re on their way oh one pit that’s up high one thing you have to have also is a lot of turnover in your roster right right and the 2022 Detroit Tigers were certainly doing that one ball one strike on Liam Hicks and Abel’s pitch is up high by Liam Hicks there’s a rule five pick marlins are uh well they’re kind of looking through all different avenues to try to get some talent in here has done a nice job for them 280 hitter the pitch is a breaking ball down and in four homers and 25 runs batted in in his 44 game three balls in a strike it’s left-handed batter and Abel’s pitch last ball strike called the time called by Liam Hicks batter little bit of uh sun coming through some windows right over near the top of home plate i mean there’s two long shadows somewhere from behind us a long shadow cast by Brian Onora out through the right hand batters here’s the 3-2 pitch and oh wow that missed i don’t think it missed that was a perfect pitch by Mick Ael but they say ball four and so Hicks is aboard and that’ll bring up Conor Norby that last fast ball at 97 bottom of the strike zone that is where I think Mick will start to really learn to use more he didn’t get the call but it’s a strike he just didn’t get it that time but that pitch the reason it’s not swung on is because you break your bat i mean you’re going to break your bat off the end right there it’s just hard to There’s Connor Norby and the pitch swung a miss first pitch breaking ball and talking with Mick in between starts he said using his force seamer down in the zone like that is not something he’s done a lot of but it is something they worked on in between uh his last start since his last start and that was a really good one the pitch and that one is a another strike that wasn’t called and Marawn with something to say to Brian Onora and the bench with something to say to Brian Onora as well conor Norby adding 241 runners on the corners marshawn hops out from behind the plate to relay the defensive side one and one the count able long set now throws over to first back for the dive is Hicks but we’ve talked about it before and Larry’s certainly mentioned it numerous times how often hitters don’t bother swinging at that pitch and oftentimes they complain to the umpire when it’s called a strike on one pitch and that one just missed the outside ed you’re talking about the low strike the low strike they take hitters give up on it right and uh but it can be incredibly effective here’s the pitch and that one’s up high and it’s three and one norby 241 with three homers playing in his 49th game of the season former second round pick with Baltimore three and one the count and the pitch fouled back the other thing with Mick you know his his games what he’s had three starts each team he’s faced has been a little bit better offense each time and that’s part of it so right here what we’ve seen what you and I have seen we relay to you he’s been in some count 3-1 counts and then he’s just challenging with this fast and you can’t really live like that three and two the count runner at first is off and running the pitch is fouled off third base side off the front of the Marlins home dugout yeah long term that’ll come back to you out bite you yep i respect the fact that he’s 3-1 and he’s challenging them i mean he’s not he’s just throwing here’s 97 but it didn’t work against Cubs right cubs hit three home runs I think often three and two one- nothing Phillies lead it the pitch swung on ground ball up the middle there’s a base hit and in to score is Sters around to third base goes Hicks and Connor Norby with an RBI single has tied the game it’s 1-1 pretty bat right there by Norby just to live a little bit longer and again another fast ball this one’s up at the belt right down the middle and here comes Caleb Ctham out of the first base dugout he’s going to go out and chat with Mick Ael who appeared to get out of this inning with the pitch to Liam Hicks that’s certainly a call that uh has cost the Phillies here as Abel has been unable to retire Norby marlins have kept it alive brian Nora now going out to the mound to break up the conversation because he knows that Kevin Stalker has somewhere to be you know I just like to see action right i mean baseball’s more fun than And yes I would so 1-1 runners in the corners and now Dane Meyers 333 hitter on the year that’s in the nine spot and Abel’s first pitch to him plunked it and I mean drilled it 95 and uh somewhere on the arm and uh Dane Meyers walks away and he’s uh in a crouch position to the left of the plate elbow shot right i I gotta tell you he didn’t even flinch i mean he just stood there i mean not even a flinch now you’re supposed to turn as a hitter you turn let it hit you in the back like what are they teaching these kids nothing he just took it right in the elbow i mean 95 a square shot and he’s being attended to by trainer Clayton Mello the manager is there and uh he may run but uh he may not be long for this game so Meyers makes the slow slow walk down to first base and Mick Ael in a bases loaded bit of trouble here in the second inning after a one two three first davier Edwards is coming up edwards who hit well over 300 for Miami last year was big bright spot for them in the second half so far this season batting 279 palm even with a third base bag turner a step towards the middle he’s deep at short bases are loaded and the pitch to Edwards is in for a strike first pitch slider 01 able with the set now the pit fast ball and that’s inside Edward wards without a home run this season it was never a big guy in the power department the one-1 swung on line towards second caught by Bryson Scott runs in to the backhand side he makes the play and that does it for Miami they get one run in the inning on two hits three men left the board and we’ll head to the third take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 911 hear moments like this Brandon Marsh will lead things off against Sandy Alcantra 91 and two coming up for the Phils first pitch to Marsh breaking ball that’s down and in that was pitch number 38 on the night for Alcantra and the 10 Marsh takes that’s called strike brandon Mars 254 average with two home run and he’s batting 339 over his last 23 games one ball and one strike on the pit playing at a bouncer foul first base side oh there it is time out had a boy Brandon so now now it’s just on my radar okay look if they need a timeout I get it reset one ball two strikes here’s the pitch and that’s inside folks let me just paint the picture for you here in the booth he is standing up stock is standing up he’s wandering back and forth two two fouled away he is of course tethered to the front desk here because he’s got headphones on and they’re plugged in can’t wander too far but uh clearly just sitting there and relaxing is not not going to be your thing tonight well it’s a little warm in the booth so two two pitch hung on fouled away i would assume you were talking about how counter’s u his pitch count he’s for most of this year they have him on a pretty strict limit as far as innings pitched coming off of that surgery that’s some of the reasons why he hasn’t had he’s only got three games at six innings next pitch that’s down low right he’s only had three games where he’s had at least six innings basically three quality starts you know in 2021 he had 23 quality starts in 22 he had 24 quality starts all of this pre-surgery here’s the 3-2 pitch marsh swings and grounds it to second coming in for it Edwards has got it overhand flip to first one gone well he was about as good as it gets back in 2022 he was 14 and N that said more about the ball club uh than anything else he had a 2.28 earn run average 32 starts led the league in innings complete games faced more batters than anybody else in baseball as the first pitch turner is in for a called strike he won the Sai Young award as an allstar for the second time 01 pitch breaking ball grounded foul and he’s not one of those guys that I mean obviously in his heyday and he may get back there again but was never a big strikeout guy right he just got outs the two swung on broken bat pop up foul first base side nobody can get there was coming over coming And did he break it or No he just threw it didn’t he he just lost the handle on it and Dusty Watan goes to retrieve it he just for a second there I thought he broke it too uh that was quite a bats i mean Dusty Watson had to go down the line to get it remarkable usually when Trey throws his bat which I think was it in U Sacramento I think we saw maybe backto back throws it’s literally going behind him high into the net above the dugout well just one more way we can delay tonight’s game for you yeah it was just great get a hit delay it that way no balls two strikes and a pitch and that’s inside turner responsible for the Phillies only run lead off home run turner second of the year 18th of his career alcantra the one two break the ball down low phillies did it 15 times last year and uh every one of them was hit by Kyle Schwarber huh all of them a two- two pit and it’s fouled back over the screen we’re talking about Sandale Concious success and how he just got out he reminds me in regards to pitch usage to a Ranger Suarez different velocities all of that but it’s five pitches when he’s throwing them all at 20% he’s remarkably good 22 pulls it foul this one down the third baseline he so far is really close to that today now it’s still early right but the four seamers running about 25% curve ball slider sinker 20% and then the change up after that the change up I thought was always kind of his best pitch here’s a 2-2 again and it’s line to right there’s a base hit and Trey Turner who came into the night with a 351 batting average off of Belcra in his career so he’s upped that tonight with a two for two start another heck of an at bat there by Turner how nice is it Scott to see Trey extend that bat right like I mean go back in the past there was a lot of chase in that swing and taking care of some of that one-1 game here’s Kyle Schwarber and he takes a little high for ball one and uh Brian Norris is going to get the What’s he looking at he he’s come out from behind the plate now he’s using his foot to like tap the edge of the plate as though it’s popping up or something schwarber with a bit of a look on his face what’s going on here now he dusts off the plate no Norora it’s ready to go again alcatra comes set to the belt and a one swing of the miss fast ball there they might try to get Turner going some point love it the pitch that’s way outside two balls and a strike warber struck out his first time up he’s never hit a home run off Catra the swing and a miss there’s a 90 mph change up get time out wait Kyle take your time out this is going to go on all night i need to figure out look as a hitter you have to adjust clearly as a radio broadcaster I need to adjust two balls two strikes and Alcantra ready long set still holding now deals with the pitch swung on sky to left field it’s shallow as Ster coming in he’s calling for it and he’ll make the catch that was a roof scraping popup by Kyle Schwarber there for round number two and that’ll bring up Alec Bow and Turner leads away at first again uh didn’t seem uh much interested in trying to get going there in that at bat and a pitch to Bow that’s up and in for a ball one and0 doubled his first time out five for 14 now with three doubles this year against the Marlins alantra ready the 10 swung on hit in the air center field myers to his right is calling he will make the catch and the side is retired no runs one hit one man left we’ll go to the bottom of phillies and the Marlins this Monday night nick Ael back to work after a lengthy second inning for him and the first pitch to Sanchez is up high for ball one cuties took two out of three over the fish back in April at Citizens Bank Park the wind up and the 10 ball there’s the strike call one of those games featured the uh bullpen meltdown the Saturday game when the Phillies were up big but the Marlins rallied back made it a one-run ball game phillies hung on to win 11 to 10 as Sanchez fouls one straight back to the back stop one and two to count and the Marlins would come away with a win again come from behind win on Sunday the pitch breaking ball that missed outside two balls two strike on Sanchez and Able turns kick steel that’s up high three and two a lot of full counts for Mick Ael had 47 pitches with nobody out here in the third inning payoff on the way and it’s lined to its left but Kepler is there he’ll make the catch back up and there’s one away kids 14 and under are sure to be the coolest on the beach this summer with the Philadelphia Water Rights Fanatic Beach Boutique which occurs on Sunday July 6th 1:35 p.m when the Reds come to Citizens Bank Park to take on the field visit phillies.com to purchase tickets today that’ll bring up Otto Lopez tonight’s lineup here with the Phillies and Marlins in game one of the series it’s more than a hundred years in the making doc the first pitch to Lopez is up and in for ball one this is the first time since August the 22nd of 1916 that two players named Otto are in a major league starting lineup 10 pitch popped up foul and over at first Otto Kemp with a chance to retire Otto Lopez but foul and out of play the Brooklyn Robins Otto Miller and the Chicago Cubs Otto Mabe is there any chance there first base shorts stop in that game that is not That was not the case here’s a swinging ground ball to third bol’s got it throws quickly to first it’s right on the money nice play there by Alec Bow to retire Otto Lopez otto Miller of the Robins he was a catcher and uh Otto Nabe now uh he actually was from Philadelphia believe it or not really yeah and I’m I’m actually just guessing that I’m saying his name correctly it’s a N a B here’s Ramirez and he takes down and away from ball one now I will say this these two those two autos they were both middle names but they were their chosen name that’s what they played under that still counts but they were middle names where did Where did Otto Nabe play uh position wise he was an infielder here’s a swing and a bouncer to short trey Turner’s got it throw to Otto Kemp who makes the catch tags Ramirez and that is the final out there’s a one two three inning and Otto Kemp a little banged up there after the collision with Ramirez one two three inning we’ll go to the fourth it’s a one-1 take a hack at guessing which baseball player or manager said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i Sandy Alcantra misses down and away from ball one it is our RAV fourth inning presented by Toyota check out toyota.com to get your new 2025 Rav 4 today toyota let’s go fields castianos lines one deep to right center field on the run it’s caught in the alley by Sanchez nice running grab by Jesus Sanchez take a hit away from Castanos tell you Nick one thing about Nick Castiano has been working really hard on his swing and just keeping the swing consistent to right field and I what has always amazed me about Nick is how much he turns his back to the pitcher when he hits your hands have to travel further i have find that very difficult but he’s able to get in position to to launch his hand here’s Max Kepler and the pitch Kepler bounces in there the Marlins have taken Dne Meyers out of the game as Meyers who uh had that pitch off his elbow he’s out of the game kepler takes the break ball for a called strike and I was going to mention we should mention Otto Kemp is in the on deck circle he took quite a shot from Ramirez coming down the line here’s the swing and a foul down to the plate yeah it was an interesting play that’s one of the scariest plays for first baseman of course when it goes up the line now he had plenty of time to tag the runner uh but it looked like he reached in otto did as almost like a shoulder issue i don’t know what it was but just hasn’t played a lot over there to figure out that technique the pitch and that’s up high by the way it’s uh Hernandez who is in left field now for the fish sters in center the 22 and it’s fouled off by the way Otto Nabe or Nabe his uh full name was Fronto Nabe time called by Kepler and he went by the nickname Dutch really did he really yeah and uh played for the Phillies for a long time and was a second base and Otto Miller he was named Lel Otto Miller and he went by the nickname Mooney the pitch down it in one of my best friends back at home his middle name was Lel did they call him Mooney they called him you know dummy next pitch and this one’s punched foul out of play left side it’s a one-1 game here in the fourth it’s interesting so they So neither of them use their real first name they both use their middle name and they each have distinct way different nickname that’s a lot to digest 3-2 pitch swung on he hit high in the air deep right field back is Sanchez looking up and that one is gone into the second deck max Kepler goes deep again and Kepler with home run number nine on the season a solo shot puts the Phillies back on top it’s two to one well talking about names I believe his real name is Maximleian Kepler that hit that ball let’s get into it at that point he’s really starting to attack one of the things I was talking with Kevin Long today just he was trying to simplify his thoughts part of that has to do with just timing he said “Stop worrying about all the mechanical stuff let’s just do one thing and that’s timing time up the fast ball and go after that.” And that’s where his success is coming from here’s Otto Kemp he swings and drives one to straightaway center ster going back he’s going to make the catch right on the edge of the track and some Couple of loud outs to go sandwich around the home run by Kepler well Max told us over the weekend that he went for a long time just with some non-committed swings and what he called sort of half swings because he wasn’t really committed to it and that’s one of the mental adjustments he’s made to decide to just let it go let me get up there and swing here’s Bryson stop and the pitch he’s in there for a called strike out of thinking about so many things uh during his at bat in between his at bats thinking about all these mechanical things 01 and this one’s hit hard to center straight away sters got turned around going back it’s over his head one hops the fence and Scott with a rope of a double into center field will stop there with two outs bryson Scott that is the best hit ball we’ve seen him have in a while and that’s the change up it’s a change up that stays up remember I was talking about earlier where his best pitch is any pitch that is low at the bottom of the zone and that’s that’s the truth when he’s on and that’s what just hasn’t been able to do he he goes change up there to Bryson leaves it up it’s it’s crushed pitch before a fast ball to Otto Kemp it was crushed same with home run to to Max Kepler the ball’s just up in the zone there’s Raphael Maron and Alcantra looks back at second base the pitch and it’s outside ball one marshon had a long at bat that ended with a strikeout his first time up brandon Marsh who’s a bit of a chatter box down there in the on deck circle is standing right next to the field microphone the 10 and that’s the call strike that’s why you can hear the donut coming off the bat every time somebody’s the Phillies on deck circle one ball one strike ready at the belt next second the pitch swung on rip down the right field line but foul phillies are getting after it here they are one ball and two strikes now Contra with a pick fouled off phillies and Marlins tomorrow night are going to play a half hour earlier than originally scheduled because of the Florida Panthers hockey game the Stanley Cup finals it’s going to be a 610 start one two it’s up high two balls two strikes that works for me yeah i mean move it up get it going you’re not one to want to sit around are you the two miss he got him marshawn down on strikes phillies reclaim the lead on the home run by Max Kepler his ninth of the season two hits in the inning and a man left and we’ll go to the bottom of the fourth phillies lead it two to one when you get a cancer diagnosis your world stops but not Fox Chase Cancer Center moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio back to work and he’s got his second one-run lead of the night after the home run by Max Kepler puts the Phillies up two to one sters leads off he tripled his first time up takes this pitch up high ball one 55 pitches now for Mick Ael and he winds the 10 it’s swung on and fouled back and out of play he threw 89 pitches in his last start in four innings against the Cubs one ball one strike and it’s grounded towards first scooped by Kemp he’s going to take it himself we’ll beat Stars there sure-handed play by Otto Kemp one away want to see your favorite Phils shine in Atlanta this summer pitch swung on and foul tip fourth place each for JT Kyle and Bryce Harper and Alec Holmes is fifth among third base top two players in each position per league advance to the final round of voting top six outfielders 1-1 and it’s fouled back out of play and it’s one of two on Wagaman who was drafted way back in 2017 by the Yankees hugman is 27 years of old they’re 27 years old and uh waited a long time for his chance at the major we’re one two and it’s fouled back to the land down below us the free agent snee made his debut with the Angels as a rule five pick last year one two and he buries the breaking ball of the dirt wagman won’t chase it can be a little tough for for visiting teams when they come in here and really for home teams too when you come in and it’s this quiet it’s really really quiet in the dome you hear every little singled out noise because of it two two pitch swing it a miss struck him out fast ball just above the zone and Wagaban strikes out for the second time third strike out overall for Mick Ael yeah it’s not packed with energy usually in this ballpark create your own here’s Liam Hicks who drew a walk his first time up and Abel’s pitch to him swung on line for second it’ll be caught by Scott right at him and there is out number three a one two three shutdown inning for Ael who has now retired seven Marlins in a row at the end of four it’s the Phillies two and the Marlins one the DQ sauce and toss chicken strip baskets have more flavor than your t it’s a great night for baseball this matchup features some of the best talent in the game a figurator Friday July 18th at 6:45 p.m when the Phils host the angle purchase tickets at phillies.com phillies have a two to1 lead here over Sandy Alcatra and the Marlins brandon Marsh leads off here in the fifth inning and a first pitch swing and a miss and it’s nothing and one marsh Turner Schwarber to appear in the fifth inning as Alcantra ready with a pitch and that one’s in there for a called strike a lot of people just sort of assumed that Sandy Alcantro was going to be offered up for trade some point this year the pit is up high he’s signed through next season a pretty decent cost that is up high especially for a former Sai Young award winner is the team option for the 2027 season on his deal 22 on ripped and it’s caught by Logan at first base backhand grab lunging for that one and there’s out number one i mean I would I would think he’s still Yes but would they be getting max value for him at this stage until he you know I mean he’s obviously pitching better lately but his RA is is still north of seven right pitch down low obviously the big first big trade of the baseball season happened yesterday raphael Devers going to San Francisco 10 pitch strike turner’s two for two tonight with a homer and a single big infusion of offense for the Giants one-1 miss giants who have surprised a lot of folks they’re right on the heels of the Dodgers in the West i guess the Red Sox have just said we’re good i mean I thought they were going to be more kind of running after that playoff type of birth one two pitch pointed at a miss we blew that one by him now I should say that I’m not saying that they’re giving up but but there was a meeting i know this is very public meeting that had what month ago it’s longer than that even the owner John Henry went out there to be a part of that meeting i mean if if who knows what happened I’m sure there was something said there was a good conversation and look if you’re a player that doesn’t if you don’t want to be somewhere and and the ownership is like fine we’ll find somewhere where you’re going to go the only difference is that he was performing for Schwarber and he takes inside yeah there were two two big uh twists there it was right it was first they signed Bregman and take Devers off of third base that was a big to-do looked like he finally sort of settling into the DH spot as this pitch misses up and away it’s two and0 to Schwarber and then they wanted him to potentially play first base and he said “You want me to do that in the middle of the season i’m not doing that.” And that’s where they went to the the the meeting with everybody and the owner included and maybe they discovered that maybe they just felt at that point not going to happen here right right two-1 pitch hung on and popped up left field line long run by Hernandez and he is not going to get there that’s right up to the first row of the netting my only thing with that trade and I I guess maybe I need to take a better look at it is I’m not sure that Boston got enough for the trade well and players I guess there’s Yeah I understand what you mean yeah couple of ways to look at that they’re not on the hook for any of his money that they owe him okay two two pick and it’s fouled back they get two arms one who would be in the big leagues right now Jordan Hicks another who went to Triple A already Kyle Harrison they get a pretty highly thought of uh hitting prospect and a still to be determined pitcher not to be determined but pardon me as this pitch is fouled off but a little ways away a very low minor league oh oh I got you high ceiling projectable type but yeah not a lot of hey it’s going to make us better now right short of player right de’s I guess DH is over there i mean this is a big move for Bus Posey yeah i mean first year DM spending some money go ahead two two pitch it’s up high yeah he’s uh definitely done that i mean uh and yes he would not play third base obviously there either they have Matt Chapman who’s currently hurt but not a long-term injury countful the payoff pitch forward takes sets down an involve four and Kyle draws a two out walk the Marlins with activity in their pen and we’ll see how much further they will go with Alcantra as Alec Bulma has hit the ball hard twice a couple of times the other thing about Devers and just for those that don’t know Raphael Devers the guy can hit man but he also cannot field and I’m like they’re giving you a DH job for a lot of money and you don’t have to catch it or clank it anymore the pitch boom a swing of a miss first pitch breaking ball and uh don’t see a wild swing like that from Bow too often he went down to one knee that curveball ended up way off the plate oh one pit fast ball strike called i mean the Giants could theoretically use a first baseman uh but Debor’s declined to do that in Boston i would assume he would decline the same in San Francisco maybe maybe not alcatra ahead in the count the 02 pitch going on fouled away it’s two to one phillies lead it i am Am I reading this right contra at 99 pitches yeah that’s about right yeah that is a lot of pitches the pitch swing and a miss his 100th pitch of the night oh will get him through five innings it’s his fifth strike out of the night and he departs after we go to the bottom of the fifth inning it’s the Phillies two and the Marlins one everyone has a fave wendy’s Frost take a hack at guessing which baseball player or man said the following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game the National League ever to start a game as a pitcher and serve as the leadoff pivot it happened in 1901 and in 1953 citizens the official bank of the Philly connor Norby leads off here two to one phillies lead it and the Pits swung on fouled back i forgot to mention in that game between the Brooklyn Robins and the Chicago Cubs i think the most notable thing of that box score was not that there were two autos in the starting lineup no oh one pitch going on hit high in the air left field drifting back kepler onto the track he’s got room he’ll make the catch goes out number one batting second that day and playing right field for the Robins was a 25-year-old outfielder by the name of Casey Stangle really that was in 1916 he homered in that game by the way at 20 25 years old 25 years old one away here’s Hernandez for his first at bat able delivers in the pit swung on hit high in the air to left field this a pop up and keer coming in settling under it makes catch two gone and we’ll pause for station identification this is the Philadelphia Phillies radio network hd1 Philadelphia powered by the Tasty Cake Studios the home of the Phillies 94 WIP and Odyssey Sports Station with Kevin Stalker i’m Scott Fransky with you from Lone Depot Park here in Miami phillies leading it two to one in the bottom of the fifth inning as Xavier Edwards gets ready to bat mick Ael has done a nice turnabout there he had the trouble in the second inning he had a one two three first got the first batter in the second out then gave up a triple a strike out a walk which shouldn’t have been a walk that call then a single and a hit basket as Edwards takes a strike but since he hit Dame Myers with that pitch it’s a nine up and nine down oh one pitch now back out of play you like to see that too young pitcher who uh again works through some struggles sometimes that’s game to game sometimes that’s within a game uh gets into it but gets out of it as well the O2 next swing did he go he did not is as Diaz and Mick Ael does a little backpedal back up the mound he was starting to walk off first base side so the cow wanted to the pit and that’s fouled off well we just got a shot on our little monitor here of Edwards up there kind of a closeup of his bat and it looks like he’s got a torpedo bat but not only that it looks like a really short bat short to me is 32 1/2 in one two check swing balls in the dirt and a got a little dirt in the eye of Brian Onora I think yeah clean in and out blow it down use that brush yeah right dustin off on the plate that boy from the Phil’s dugout runs a towel out to him but yeah he’s it looks to me like he’s got a short bat up there could be a 33 inch bat now Tony Gwyn was a guy that used a 32inch bat he’s going to head over to the dugout here to clean that out isn’t he he’s asking for a little help a little needs a little eyewash the Marlins trainer happy to oblige you certainly don’t want a situation where the umpire can’t see you know you might miss strikes no he’s okay yeah I’m good i’ve been using one eye all night the count is two and two edwards twirls that torpedo bat a few times waiting on Mick Ael who’s ready in the pit swung on ripped into center there’s a base hit and so Edwards aboard edwards was the man who lined out with the bases loaded to end the second thankfully this hit comes with two outs and nobody on that’ll bring up Jesus Sanchez sanchez tonight is 0 for two with a strike out but fly ball to left edwards is the threat to run he’s been caught a bunch cable comes set at the letters and the pitch that’s ball a little high fact very high and it’s one ball and no strikes on the bag at first Edwards 11 steals in 17 attempts 10 that’s his called strike right at the top of the strike zone up field pretty much straight away castianos is playing a little bit deeper and right the 1-1 look at the miss 11 for 17 is not a great percentage you’re talking about filling bases part of what you were talking about fought a lot as a team abel will turn and throw but at first it would appear stock uh that Abel’s kickoff move could use a little work right a little refining would you say i would say a little bit he’s a big guy right although Taiwan Walker is too want two pitch breaking ball bounced weakly towards second stock charging gloves it throws to first and he got him and that’ll do it for the Marlins no runs one hit one man left mable threw five we’re going to the six phillies two the Marlins won this great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith Corks went rival Mets are coming to town for an exciting matchup under the lights against the Phils on Sunday June 22nd at 7:10 p.m secure your seats by visiting phillies.com on to the sixth inning tonight here in Miami and the Marlins make the change on the mound and bring on a right-hander vent Valente Beoso a 25year-old from Mexico his first pitch is a breaking ball in the dirt nick Castanos looks like that’s going to be it for Mick Ael the Phillies are getting Taiwan Walker up in their bullpen well they’re going to cut it at five for Nick here’s the one pitch espanos fouls it back he’s only at 77 pitches now we mentioned his last time out he threw 89 pitches against the Cubs in four innings of work which was in fact the most pitches he’d thrown in a big league game this season he’s been up over 90 a few times at Triple A he has not gone to 100 at any point and it doesn’t appear he will today either beosso steps back into his wind up in the pit looking a foul tip hung on two made his major league debut last year for Miami he went three and four with a 367 earn run average in 13 starts the one-two pitch swung on pulled deep in the hole short diving lopez couldn’t get it and it’s a base hit for Castianos to start things here against Beayoo beosso is a cutter for Seamer a sweeper and a change up it says he has a curveball i don’t know that any of the Phillies hitters will see the curve ball rarely throws that that’ll bring up Max Kepler kepler the home run his last time up give the Phillies a two to one lead that’s where we stand right now beoso with a pitch and it’s in there for a called strike so Kepler was retired by Alcantra his first time out but he’s now two for three with three walks and two homers off of Sandoso to the pit going to miss and Kepler now with an extra base hit in five of his last six games that’s something they’ve been longing for is to see some power out of Max Kepler aoso with a pitch takes that’s now low one ball two strikes marlins have uh kind of utilized a lot of guys in their bullpen that are multi-ining pitchers pitch going on hit high in the air center field it’s playable for Sters coming in he’s waiting on it and he’ll make the catch for the first out they want most of their guys to be able to throw multiple innings out of the bullpen and Beayoo a former starter guy who does that they have Tyler Phillips still in their bullpen a former Philly tyler Phillips who was picked up at the end of spring training by Miami phillies let him go another one of those guys who generally comes in for more than one inning of work here’s Otto Kemp and he takes down and away it’s interesting you say that too right so you the Marlins again I I mentioned it early how their manager likes to do quick hooks he’s done it a lot now tonight Sandy threw a 100 pitches so he let him go a lot of pitches but still couldn’t get very deep in the game kind of par for the course so for the 10 that’s up and in so the Marlins bullpen I think they lead their first or their third excuse me third in innings pitch in other words at some point if they keep this pace you think to yourself their bullpen is going to be gassed they’re going to run out of steam at some point in this season duo swung on and popped up and this one back of third Lopez out into shallow left and he’s under it to make the catch so I would think to combat that and this where I’m going with this is you talked about how they like these multi-inninging guys right so I guess you could have if someone’s only going to go four innings but you have the next guy out of the bullpen go three then you kind of save your you can save your bullpen arms for a three or four in this case four game series by doing that where it goes south of course is if that guy comes in here and he gives it up you got to bring in three guys on the first night well then you’re you’re toast the rest of the series right here’s takes a called strike the three games at Washington they won all three games they had 13 different relief appearances you know multiple for some guys but uh that’s in three days the 01 swung on line to left but waiting on it is Hernandez he’s going to make the catch and the side is retired yeah they threw 272 pitches out of their bullpin this past weekend wow phillies do not score after great moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith baseball sports radio 94 WIP Chick-fil-A a nugget of the game June 16th 1998 pinch hitter Mike Leverball hits a two-out three-run home run tap a sevenrun ninth inning and give the Phillies an electrifying 8-7 win over the Pirates at Veteran Stadium i texted Mike today and I said dude I got to do a read and they use electrifying behind your name he was super excited never happens with Liver for him to get super excited no for anything to be electrifying there you go that’s Taiwan Walker is on in relief his first pitch is ball one two to one phillies lead it otto Lopez check swing strike called and it’s one ball and one strike interesting spot here to bring Taiwan Walker into the game in the sixth inning mick Gable 77 pitches through five innings pitches down and away he’d given up three hits but really had not been challenged and this really looks like a hey we don’t want him to go a third time through the order sort of situation right well yeah i mean that’s that’s what I’m thinking 2-1 that’s a breaking ball down low as I as I just got done talking about four game series and the bullpen and so forth now talking about multi-ining I would think Taiwan then if that’s the case would be multi- innings here 3-1 and it’s a ground ball hit to third bow knocked it down picks it up throws to first it’s just in time lopez hustling and the miscue almost cost Alec Bow but he recovers in time well and which the flip side of that is what the Phillies have been telling us now for a couple of weeks is that their desire is to just simply let Taiwan go out there for an inning sort of work towards that high leverage idea and uh there’s a swing in a ground ball hit to the hole at short turner’s got this one offbalance throw to first and Ramirez who apparently has never met a pitch he didn’t like uh he grounds out quickly again 63 to put out and that’ll bring up Kyle Starders and Walker’s only thrown six pitches i think at this point he’s has to come back out unless things go terribly wrong here as the first pitch to Sters is in for a strike but you know that was the the sort of the the thought was well we’re going to see Taiwan in those leverage situations and see him for an inning let him put his foot on the gas as Sters tried to check on a high fast ball could not next pitch swinging a miss that’s quick work that’s great work and one two three for Walker as the Marlins middle of the order goes down in order and we go to the seventh it’s two to one Phillies welcome to the Chevy Lightning round the big hits all the greats you got to be kidding me and all the two to1 Phillies tre Turner hit a home run max Kepler hit a home run in the fourth inning they got one miami got one in the second inning nick Ael did pretty well he’s out of the game through 77 uh pitches 54 strikes that’s pretty good pgw fueling the future raphael Maran leading off takes ball one from Valente Beoo beoso will face Marawn Marsh and Turner here in the inning phillies a two to one lead and the pitch outside theoso faced the Phillies last year as a starter and threw a gem as the pitch is in there for a called strike that was at Citizens Bank Park last August beat the Phillies five to nothing with seven shutout innings on the mount two balls one strike and a pip that’s strike two two and two on Marawn who’s 0 for two ground ball hit through the right side it’s picked up by the first baseman Wagaman to the flip underhand of Beoso one away that remains his longest outing in the majors seven innings against the Phillies i mean it wasn’t like a spot start right he was No he was in their rotation made 13 starts a lot of his starts were in the range of uh four or five innings here’s Brandon Marsh the pitch in for a cold strike and no activity oh I I lied is he really warming up jordan Romano is really warming up out there to pitch the seven the 01 breaking ball stays up high nine pitches for Taiwan Walker the 1-1 call fast basketball and it’s one of two beoso with a one-two pitch that’s up high you would think Taiwan Walker would not be available tomorrow because I don’t think they’re anywhere close to using backto back days two-2 pitch on the way and it’s grounded sharply fair past the dive of Wagaman going down the line all the way to the corner marsh on his way into second base he’s turning at second he’s headed for third and there’ll be no relay there it’s a head first slide and a triple for Brandon Marsh his first three base hit of the year and I was just sitting here thinking you know with with the Marlins similar the last road trip with Pirates if you let a team who’s struggling hang around long enough without the offense kind of picking him up they’ll come back and get you and then all of a sudden crack he hits it into this no man dead turret something’s going on in that corner down there that we can’t see but that was a big triple well now the infield comes in trey Turner the batter he’s got two hits already tonight including a leadoff home run his second of the season and the pitch broken bat floater into left that’ll do the job it’s a base hit for Turner his third hit of the night brandon Marsh will score and the Phillies now lead three to one well he can hit a rope over the wall in center he can get the broken bat RBI in the left and Trey Turner who had a four hit game against Miami earlier this season a three hit game here tonight he is 9 for5 against the Marlins this year here’s Kyle Schwarber in the pitch taken up and away for a ball one ball no strikes beo the pitch ripped into right sanchez coming in he’ll make the catch turner has to hustle back to first that ball was smoked and nothing to show for it there for Schwarber there are two outs now and with Turner at first Bow will be the batter when he comes set he holds the glove basically right on his chest his hand is in the glove his bare hand holding the ball in the glove and it’s tucked all the way up against his chest and the pitch and this is ripped down the right field line towards the corner that is a foul ball oh man a foul ball in the corner and Alec Bow was tapping his helmet he wants a replay of that which that is a reviewable play but the Phillies will not challenge fair or foul down the line beyond the umpire is reviewable well at least according to the monitor since we can’t see it there b one for three tonight with a double his first time up billings trying to make it five straight wins could win this one tonight got a three to one lead here in the seventh the pitch ground ball up the middle to his left lopez has it flips it to Edwards and that’ll force out Turner for the final out one run for the Phillies on two hits one man left stretch time in Miami it’s a great night for baseball this Watch is on for him independence Blue Cross learn more at idx.com phillies bring on Jordan Romano here to pitch the bottom of the seventh inning phillies with this three to one lead and the first pitch is in for a called strike to Eric Wagamano the third pitcher used tonight by the Phillies tom Walker a nine pitch sixth inning swinging a miss and uh I’d say this is an interesting uh outing to watch here for Jordan because it was against Miami in midappril when uh Jordan really got roughed up the O2 is bounced in the dirt front of the plate he won’t face it uh that was the game we uh referenced earlier in which the Phillies had to hang on for an 11-10 win that’s where a lot of the talk of maybe he was tipping his pitches came from one-two pitch swing and a foul tip hung on to by Marawn no problem with Wagaman there’s one away and uh we kind of talked about this in the past week or so with regard to Jesus Lazardo you’re chasing ghosts if you will you think you might be tipping you’re not really sure um you I guess you never totally know if you’ve solved it if you you know unless you one way to know is to face the same team that that had you quote unquote before as Slider misses down a little bit low and don’t get me wrong there was plenty going on with Jordan back in April from kind of mixed velocities as Liam Hicks takes timeout uh not great command was really rusty at times uh but uh that was also a a thought and a concern and something they worked on to try to address the 01 pitch to Hicks fast ball that’s in for a strike you know back when I played I I we always as an offensive team every team I played for we always looked for something from the pitcher whatever it is feet knees finger in the glove we were constantly finding something 02 that’s down and in trying it was against Miami he gave up six runs on six hits two of them homers in two/3 of an inning right one ball two strikes here’s the pitch and it bunkked him and I think it got Marawn as well brian Odora came out unscathed that time and so Hicks is aboard so so one of the things on the tipping which is interesting and you just talked about he was in there for twothirds of an inning and got absolutely shelled now my thing is it usually took us as a team unless we had it from a year before so it might take us a couple innings right right and so now it’s like wait and just how do you how do you relay that it was happened so fast well food for thought uh he had pitched a bunch of scoreless outings before the Dodgers hit him pretty good and then threw some scoreless outings before the Marlins roughed him up the pitch is in there for a call strike clayton McCulla the manager of the Marlins just recently came from the Dodgers perhaps there’s some carry over there that’s a big perhaps scott Fransky oh one pitch and that’s in there for a called strike i mean that’s how those things spread right well today yes and I Yeah because you know back then it was cassette tapes you put it in you’re like play now you’ve got side by side digital you’ve got cell phones to call him yeah yep 02 pitch on the way and it’s a slider swung on and missed he struck him out the the the big thing is for sometimes for tipping or whatever the idea of tipping your pitches sometimes it’s just the pitcher thinks he’s fixed it that might help it maybe you know mentally confidence-wise whatever but I think most pitchers will certainly tell you when their command is off when their execution is poor that’s the number one problem You can say all you want about the tipping or whatnot but uh that’s where it starts here’s Hernandez and Hernandez takes down and in ball one and there’s a big difference for the guys from a from an offensive there’s a big difference between a pitcher tipping and between relaying for example if you’re on second base the pitch breaking ball that’s up high i never Sometimes we would get signs and we would relay from second i didn’t want them because I was so terrified of the miss right if they missed one oh then I was mentally a mess like if they gave me the wrong But if a pitcher’s tipping I could see two or three hitters in that’s accurate then I would use it two pitch and a swing and a popup shallow left ranging out is Turner he’s under it he makes the catch and there’s a scoreless seventh inning for Jordan Romano hits a batter but nothing more than that one man left moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts wanting to right down the line it may go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals Phillies nick Castatos leading it off here in the eighth inning phillies are up three to one and the pitch breaking ball popped up foul this is over on the first base side it’ll go into the seats the Marlins have mentioned that the Dane Meyers left tonight’s ball game with elbow discomfort no really 95 on the elbow will do that how else could you word that to make it a little bit not so obvious is the wine of the 01 away just throw in a Just throw in contusion and it sounds elbow contusion right it sounds more medical right right you can’t spell it then you know matt Stum getting loose for the Phils in their bullpen as Beoso missed inside he wears the number 83 valente Deoso two-1 pit swinging a high fly ball center field it’s shallow sters and Sanchez converging in right center sters will make the call to hand a catch just looking back at that game in April jesus Sanchez double eric Wagaman single dane Meyers homer matt Mvvis ground out javier Senoa single connor Norby ground out graham Paulie double liam Hicks homer and that was it for Romano that day lightning quick they put six on the board against them here’s Max Kepler and he takes a called strike kepler a huge hit in this one his home run back in the fourth inning untied the game gave the Phillies a two to one lead they now lead it three to one here’s the wind up in the 01 pit in the dirt this is typical of a Marlins kind of relief outing here beoso coming in and uh now into his third inning of work the 1-1 back and nobody warming nobody’s I mean they’re not even moving out there in that Marlin one ball two strikes this is time called and Kepler back in the box he’s one for three overall with that home run back in the fourth the one-two pit look at the M well that was that was change up down and in to a lefty you don’t see that a ton dropped off the table well two up two down here in the eighth and that’ll bring up Otto Kemp well you think that number 83 is a weird number but you know Eric Gagy wore that number the Dodgers years ago debbie Garcia next pitch that’s down low for the Yankees what else did Gier wear he wore Did Did he wear that the whole time or was that like a Oh just like a have this for a little while kind of number bought out well I he did wear 38 oh and I think probably flip-flop maybe somewhere he went didn’t have it okay and he didn’t want to buy it out that next pitch blame him here’s the one one and that’s up high he wore 83 with the Red Sox here’s the wind up and the 2-1 and it’s swung on and sky to center field shallow coming in sters he’s there and he’s got it and there is a one two three inning for the Marlins right-hander moving to the bottom of the eighth here in Miami tonight it’s the Philly your day in baseball starts with MLB Central let’s get it started lead off your morning with in-depth breakdowns perfect balance boom interviews with the players get back to the fast ball but I know what that passion feels like and a little bit keeping and Wednesday July 23rd at 7:05 p.m grab tickets today at phillies.com did you just say I also said Woodly yeah I I caught that one working on my I I’ve caught most of the things you’ve said tonight not all of them no Stum to see Stro in the game taking over on the mound 32nd appearance of the year for the left-hander got a save over the weekend and it was a quick one seven pitch save on Saturday against Toronto here’s Xavier Edwards trying to bunt his way on he pops it up over on the third base side it’ll go into the dugout phillies are going to uh kind of empty the bullpen here and the Phillies make some defensive changes as well for the bottom of the eighth as Johan Rojos has taken over in center field brandon Marsh has moved to left field and Max Kepler has moved to right rojos batting in the cleanup spot 01 for a called strike and I would guess at this point the stock brookering in the night that’s what I’m thinking little bit of a different role for him but yep another two and Stro’s pitch swung on fouled away to the right side is where if you’re an infielder especially up the middle Ray Turner Bryson Stock I think for me in a dome it’s quiet just dragging a little you got to be really vocal with everybody around you fitch fouled away again you know talk to your third baseman talk to Alec tell them where you are i think Scott should be doing the same thing with auto pin turn around give the out it’s almost overkill just to make sure everybody in the the end of this game isn’t losing focus the 02 again and it’s fouled away again out of play on the first base side is one and three 3.49 RA three saves now with the one on Saturday 28 in the third innings he’s given up 25 hits including three homers 02 again and it’s fouled away again tough guys to strike out 0 and two and the pitch it’s down and in i feel like uh you know string of foul balls and you know Edwards definitely a bat ball kind of guy not going to strike out a ton but I feel like maybe there’s that extra gear for Strom that he just hasn’t had like years past certainly haven’t seen it one two on line to left that’s a base hit good AB for Edwards and he’s aboard like the breaking ball and now they’re going to bring on Senoa to bat for Sanchez javier Senoa who was a tough out for the Phils back in Philadelphia he was four for seven with a homer and drove in five runs he’s tying run here against Matt Stum phillies looking to turn two so can run a little bit edwards can as well he leads off first the pitch that’s a fast ball for a strike so this and you mentioned earlier this team they don’t strike out a ton right they put the ball in play well Senoa has taken that to another level incredibly difficult to strike out big time contact guy 0 and one count and Stum’s going to throw to first chase Edwards back nationals and Rockies tonight in DC nationals trying to snap their skid which going into tonight has reached eight straight games and uh they’ve just given up three in the ninth here’s a ground ball up the middle that’s a base hit for Sella and he is now five for eight this season against the Phillies edwards will stop at second base but the first two runners are on with nobody out in the eighth nationals had a 4-3 lead in that one going to the ninth but they’ve given up three in the ninth kyle Finnegan has allowed two homers one to Mickey Monia and one to Hunter Goodman his second of the game otto Lopez and he swings and pops one in the air foul out of play and broke his bat doing so phillies were thinking that Lopez might have designs on a bunt the way Bow was coming in at third lopez is a good baseball player just just an allaround good little baseball player strong can give you a home run if you need it but it’s not really his game 0 and one the count stum ready and the pitch and that one is a little bit high for a ball one and one to count three to one phillies lead it but two on and nobody out eighth inning the pitch swinging a ground ball up the middle turners gloves it from his knees flips to stop for one the throw to first not in time not much more they could do on that one especially with Lopez running but they get the out at second and a double play ball will still get them out of this inning unscathed make a nice play and it was a little tricky i think Craig was thinking in his head trying to be real quick here with the flip and almost lost the handle you know who’s running there probably not going to turn two take a second take a breath this is uh the one that scares you here really the biggest power threat especially with the right on left matchup the pitch swing at a high popup right field line foul ground kepler coming in he’s calling he reaches he makes the catch in foul territory runner tags coming home he’ll score and that’ll make it a one-run ball game as Edwards scampers home on the shallow foul fly ball off the bat Ramirez that is out number two and it’s a 32 Phillies lead what a nice play by Kepler here again in this ceiling inside the dome you just you kind of have to run with your eyes up most of the time but that makes it difficult communicating right because you can’t peep keeper gets a little off balance but I tell you what the tag was good the only shot at home is if Kepler catches that ball was close here’s Kyle Sters in the pitch is a fast ball for a called strike sters a left-handed batter but has hit pretty well against left-handed pitching certainly he’s held his own edwards leads it first he’s the tying run the go-ahehead run at the plate i don’t know if uh Castianos can get there no you’re not going to get there and that makes it a you know foul ball and another strike but I think Scott catches it though you do i do i think he would probably would have got but he would have been running totally the opposite direction for the same result yep long set in the 01 swinging a miss well the other thing about it is it sounded like Kepler had shouted that he got it stoen never really peeled out of the way and maybe that distracted Kepler a little bit so that he got off balance and went you know ended up down on a knee the 02 file off i mean the only way Edwards is able to score there is the fact that Kepler did fall down uh stumble a little bit if you will one-run game here in the bottom of the eighth strom ready and is 02 on the way sters lines it under the glove of Kemp scott picks it up flips it back to Kemp and it’s in time for a 343 put out there’s Bryson able to clean up that play and that’ll do it for the Marlins one run two hits and take a hack at guessing which baseball player or managers end up following i really don’t know what to say i’m just uh so happy I gave something these people cheer we all did i mean it was a great game both teams played incredible it was a great game that’s Mike Piaza after he hit an eighth inning go-ahead home run in the first New York Mets home game after 9/11 here moments like this and more on the MLB app Philadelphia Phillies radio network 94 WIP HD1 Philadelphia powered by the Tasty Cake Studios the home of the Phillies 94 WIP and Odyssey Sports Station with you from Lone Depot Park in Miami on this Monday night Phillies with a one-run lead trying to win their fifth straight game marlins trying to win their fourth in a row changes for the Marlins here for the ninth including on the mound where Cade Gibson takes over and the left-hander’s first pitch is in for a called strike javier Senoa remains of the game goes to center field kyle Sters moves over to right field and he’ll one of the way and that’s up and end so Sters has made the full circuit here tonight he started the game in left played a couple of innings in center and now will finish it up in right the one-1 just outside Bryson Scott who’s one for three tonight but Bryson to make the heads up play not take anything for granted there the ball that was hit by Sters and time called liam Hicks is going to run out the clock was winding down aid Gibson former 10th rounder out of Louisiana Tech taken by the Marlins in the 2022 draft tonight is his 14th Major League appearance he’s got a 133 earned run average thus far the pick swing and a miss have Marawn on deck scott hurt himself with that swing he’s shaking his hand originally i thought maybe it was a back or side cuz he went down to a knee in an awkward finish he’s all right gibson has a lot of pitches i mean it’s six different pitches almost should tell you what he doesn’t throw he doesn’t have a split doesn’t throw a knuckle ball bob Thompson wants to go out with the trainer and talk to Scott and uh it seems this is about his hand uh he keeps shaking out his right hand and you know he had those uh elbow issues that he played through last year and actually I’m wondering if they’re worried about a recurrence of something along those lines or it’s more about the hand and the wrist he’s just Paul Bukite just holding the elbow as a Now those are the kinds of swings that he would uh talk about last year the swings and misses where it hurt the most on that elbow you know when you when you swing and miss on change ups like that like he tried to bring his hands in he gets the barrel that’s just smart hitting you bring your hands in it changes everything right you don’t know where you’re going to finish and he finished way behind his back i mean just really torque it you get that a lot during a season two-2 bouncer back through the middle and charging in Lopez he’s got it throw to first is just in time boy Scott nearly beat that out he was really trying to leg out a hit there and the Phillies will not challenge the out called at first base pretty sure-handed play there by Lopez and that’ll bring up Raphael Marawn orion Kirkering is warming up he’ll pitch the ninth in a one-run game first pitch fast ball for a strike bar night Jesus Luzardo for the Phillies his return to the mound here at Lone Depot Park which is down low think they’ll fill it fill what the ballpark no come on with what people air conditioning would be nice here’s the one- one and it’s swung on driven to straightaway center and breaking back at first was Sonoa he dives for it and it goes in and out of his glove he kicks it way away out into shadow right marawn with a big turn at second base he thought about it but he goes back to second he’ll hold there and they score that a double for Raphael Maran as Javier Senoa misplayed that from the start just can’t take anything for granted when you leave the batters box and I would say half running down first base halfway down before he really kicked it into gear well by the time you get around second base he can’t get himself to third which would have been huge now Brandon Marsh will come up now with a runner at second as Cade Gibson ready and the pit Mars takes that one’s in the dirt and I don’t understand why you can’t give him an error i mean huh how’s that an error he misplayed it from the start he got a bad read he went stutter stepping went the wrong way and then he comes in and it hit his glove well that’s like like if a guy loses it in the sun that’s like giving in an air for that there’s no sun here well there’s perhaps you really dark roof the 10 pits he’s in there for a called strike just saying you get a little bit of a bad read here or there like a mental mistake that wasn’t even a mental mistake now I could see doing a base hit and an air is that what you’re talking about or just an arrow away okay base hit and an error okay that I could see for sure one- one pitch fouled away to the left side i know they’re not going to i’m not saying they’ll change it but I don’t understand why you can’t i mean they ask scorekeepers to make judgments and in my judgment that’s a ball that has to be caught that a ball that should be easily caught oh I don’t agree at all with that because it’s so difficult to get the read off the bat sometimes the pitch and that one bounces in there like that’s that’s kind of part of it there are times but that’s part of it is getting the right read off the bat which can be a challenge that’s part of the first part of any play is a challenge sometimes you might see it go the other way i saw earlier on a base hit read a ball and he went a little bit left but it was a bullet up the middle so not really couldn’t be in air i get I mean I get it from here it’s just way different down there two two and it’s swung on and fouled back well the other part of it is maybe uh have uh actual center fielders play center field and then you won’t see all the bad reads okay that’s fair well yeah we’ve seen a lot of that right you you play your whole career and your minor leagues all that sort of thing at one position they call you up oh by the way did you know that you’re playing you know Raphael Devers may be on to something two two down and away we we as a as an industry as a sport we tend to go to the like I don’t know we’ve followed like the Dodgers for instance they’ve had the everybody’s a utility guy like everybody Chris Taylor plays everywhere right max my played all over but you know these guys play all over the place and maybe that’s not the best thing as the pitch i would agree it’s not the Yeah time was called there gibson was ready to deal and Brian O’Nora granted time and Brian O’Nor’s done some dancing back there tonight yeah the count’s full one out runner at second and the pitch that’s down and away gets away from Hicks and Marshon’s going to get third anyways and you would think that’ll be a pass ball along with ball four you know the other thing about those reads and one of the reasons is that I talk about the read part is you know you see it all the time this big big guy will take a big swing right and so it looks like oh he hit it well or something like that and it’s off the end of the bat and so it can cause that first step or two to go the wrong way and that’s just part I’ve always considered that just part of baseball and that happens well here’s Trey Turner with a chance at his fourth hit of the night marlins bring the infield in again and the pitch turner takes that’s in for a strike 0 and1 the count turner led off the game with a homer drove in another run in the seventh with a blue base set after Marsh had tripled 0 and one the count gibson delivers and the pitch is bounced foul down the third base line ends a big run down here yeah the Marlins are kind of not fully sold out to take the out at the plate they want to have an option at a double play right right the left side infielders a little bit deeper behind the baseline nothing and two on Turner gibson ready and a pitch swung on line to right coming on for Sters he’ll make the catch marawn will not come home and score sters had all his momentum coming forward it wasn’t a real accurate throw but it was a quick one and Maron not the fastest he had no chance man bullet by Trey i mean that’s what you do you got a good hack 01 on a on a tough pitch 02 just again right at the right fielder well that’ll bring up Kyle Schwarber hitless tonight see if he can come up with a knockout punch for the Phils 3-2 Phillies lead it ninth inning the pitch and it’s taken down and away ball one warbert walked in the fifth inning otherwise a strike out a pop out and a line out to right gibson comes set and the pitch swung on popped up boy this one’s way up there and oh it hit one of the roof rafters and it was in foul territory but hit one of the uh support beams up there that’s the ways up a ways up only been a few roofs that have been hit copana fields been hit roger center been hit i think the old Astradome been hit one ball one strike on Schwarber the pitch oh hit him and it grazes Kyle Schwarber as they’re trying to come in on him there and Schwarber is headed to first and the bases are loaded for Alec B i think they’re going to review this Scott thinking it was a foul tip like it raised the bat well we hadn’t seen a up close replay yet i hadn’t was seemed pretty sure it hit him yep right now Laz Diaz and Brian Onora trying to figure out the communication device let’s see i think it’s got him on the wrist right looked like it was under the knob yeah that’s really hard to see what it hit if anything did it hit anything is it it hit the uh is that re there’s they’re freeze framing it right now on the Phillies telecast as though it hits right there and deflects into the the mitt right right and I and I can’t I would assume it’s the same here right it has to be conclusive right i mean I I swear I heard something i same way and the way Kyle reacted it seemed pretty certain he knew it hit him the other thing of of this if if you’re the Marlins uh like what’s the adage in football do you really want to take the points off the board right you review a penalty or whatever and you we had the you you put Kyle Schwarber on but he didn’t hit a three-run homer either yeah what do you What if you get it overturned and send him to back to the batters box the goal stands got a hit by Miami losing this challenge well it’s really I mean it is really tough to tell the angles they’ve shown us uh I’m not I’m not convinced he was hit but and uh just after all of that now the pitching coach Daniel Moscos wants to go out and talk to Kate Gibson 32 our score we’re in the ninth and uh the Phillies with nine hits again one more well that would uh do a whole lot more than just give them 10 again which they did four times in the last five games or actually five times in the last six games I should say well Alec Bow will be the man at the plate and Bow was one for four tonight pretty good in these situations he has been i I’d put money down he’s swinging first pitch the stretch and the pitch by Gibson he takes it’s up high i lost it they’ve got Senoa pretty deep in center field they do try to pinch the alley there in right center spot where Bow likes to work want to know the count and the pitch and that’s in for a strike a double in the first inning since then he’s flat out deep center struck out and grounded out into a fieldielder’s choice one ball one strike the pitch swinging a bouncer foul third base side and it’s one and two now as Gibson trying to work out of this ninth inning jam base is loaded for the Phils two outs a one-run lead for the Phillies and Gibson ready the one-two pitch it’s down and in and right over the shoe tops and that was dangerously close to hitting Alec nice play by Hicks behind the plate just to block that ball they’ll try again with count even now two and two as Bow waiting the left-hander kicks and fires in the pitch ground ball through the left side it’s a base hit marshon scores marsh coming in as well he’ll score well ahead of the throw it’s a two-run single by Alec Bow and the Phillies break open some breathing room here in the ninth they lead it five-2 oh those are such big runs for a team on the road who’s really struggling a little bit with getting these getting some room for the bullpen and I think those are huge nice job by Alec Bow coming through a couple times now right late games like that good for him alec Bow who’s been on a bit of an RBI tear that’s 12 runs batted in his last 13 games now here’s Johan Rojas with two on batting in Castanos’s old spot and a pitch is a fast ball in for a strike again 10 or more hits for the Phils sixth time in the last seven games the pitch swung on and missed rojos hasn’t had many at bats of late average at 230 with a homer big extra runs there ohas quickly down to the count no balls two strikes and a pitch swinging a ground ball third base backhand norby glance he fires and it’s dug out at first base by Wagaman and that’ll do it for the Phillies but they get two runs in the inning they do it with two hits they leave two men aboard and we’re going to the bottom of the ninth the Ryan Kirkering will try to Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term today’s phrase is oppo do you know what it means taco a home run hit to the opposite field austin with an oppo taco his 13 and it’s a one-run game expand your vocabulary by listening to every game on the MLB app and MLB.com moments in baseball have been broadcast on the radio since 1921 smith courts went into right down the line it may go go crazy folks go crazy it’s a home run and the Cardinals have won the game by the three to two and a home run by the Wizards catch the next unforgettable call on the MLB app and MLB.com introducing baseball’s all new national pregame show MLB Tonight live at 5 join Greg Harold and Dan and a stared roster for a preview of all the nights matchups get a first look at the lineups everything looks good right now for the Yankees first take from in Citizens Bank Park lissio’s Bakery it all starts with the bread and proud partner of the Philadelphia Phillies let’s go Phils the Phillies play here sports Radio 94 WIP we go to the bottom of the ninth inning and Orion Kirkering is coming on to try to save this one for the Phillies it would be his first save of the season and it will be Eric Wagaman leading it off and a little more wiggle room for Kirkering with a three-run advantage now his first pitch is a fast ball over at the knees for a called strike one 0 for three tonight with three strikeouts he leads off here in the ninth and the pitch and a check swing roller right back at him he’s got it kirkering with an underhand flip to first there’s one gone good way to start this is the first time for Kirkering here this year to sort of get the ninth inning and it seemed to be lined up that way uh bullpen just kind of rolled out for the Bills with the Walker in the sixth Romano in the seventh Stum in the eighth and now Kirkering in the ninth as the pitch down and away the normally I think we would have seen Kirkering in the seventh right and Romano in the ninth flipping those two as the next pitch a breaking ball that’s in for a strike kirkering actually doesn’t have a big league save as yet zero none zero none the 1-1 that’s up and away two balls one strike and a pit and that’s up high i’m not sure he’s ever been given this particular chance that is ninth inning save situation go get him the blown saves he does have I believe are in earlier inning next pitch and that’s a cold strike three balls two strikes and a pitch got a bouncer foul the first baseline the 3-2 swing and a miss he blew it by him 98 mph just straight gas i don’t No I think Hicks is just sitting trying to think he’s going to sit on a slider and you just can’t do that so Connor Norby the last hope for Miami here in the ninth and the pitch is in there for a called strike he’s just keep uh drawing straws who wants the ninth and they keep changing it up pitch is in there for a called strike can you imagine if that’s how they really did it george Straw you’re the guy herkering would be the seventh different Philly this year to get a save one more batter timeout just for good measure 0 and2 the count on Connor Norby kirkering ready and the right-hander deals and it’s a swing and a ground ball to third boom gobbles it up throws to first ball game over and Orion Kirkering gets the save and the Phillies get their fifth win in a row as they start the road trip tonight with a five to2 win here in Miami nice job by the pitching staff all our Chevrolet star of the game and Trey congrats on the win you guys keep it going on the road after a great home stand yeah had to uh grind this one out a little bit but it was a good team win uh Mick was good again and and uh played some defense and then scored enough at the end to kind of break it open a little bit of all the uh the the the types of home runs you can hit where do you rank a leadoff home run in terms of like how that feels to get a game started like that oh I mean they’re they’re all pretty equal unless it’s a unless it’s a walk-off i’ll take it whenever but but uh yeah that was good swing and it was good to see um you know not end up in somebody’s glove i feel like I’ve hit a couple of those um last week or two weeks and it was nice to see that one go over the fence trey could you uh could you tell us and the listeners a little bit about um maybe a change or adjustment that you do make currently from like no strikes and then when you get two strikes what are what are you doing yeah just um I like to feel like um I’m simpler or feel like I’m competing a little bit more i’m okay with chasing early on and being aggressive and and taking my chances um that’s kind of how I always been but when it come to strikes just Let’s see if you can figure out the following baseball slang term next phrase is oppo taco do you know what it means ao taco a home run hit to the
