We all know the Royals offense stinks, but why? I broke down the numbers to illustrate why they're struggling.

Really shows the whole offensive philosophy needs to change regardless of if we bring in a new bat.
That Jordan Beck stat is soul crushing.
Because they are 29th in runs scored. Nothing else matters. How you score runs doesn’t matter. But you have to score runs.
Doesn’t matter if its by out averaging everyone. Doesn’t matter if its by out homering everyone. Doesn’t matter if its by walks or taking extra bases. Nothing matters. Doesn’t matter if its some random combination of all of the above.
All that matters is that you do, in fact, score runs.
For the life of me I’ll never know why plate discipline to take walks isn’t hammered into the players heads starting at the lowest A-ball level. This organization can’t go out and buy power so they need to preach getting on base anyway possible but they don’t. It is bizarre.
I hadn’t looked into advanced stats or anything beyond average with RISP. This is way worse than I thought lmao
Gotta change the philosophy entirely because this is not working at all
All of this reads like we have a problem with our approach to offense
Swinging too much, swinging at the wrong pitches and not talking walks offered.
It’s a cliche at this point, but fire Zumwalt. His philosophy sucks
