Salvador Perez Makes Royals History | Royals Grab Series-Opening Win

The Royals have lost seven straight series to the Rangers and those struggles have continued here in this ballpark since it opened. The Rangers will be no different. They have won seven of their last eight. They have won four in a row. Their record is now at 500 the first time in a long time lighter ready to go a lifetime record of four and six for Jack. This is 18th career start. The third among rookies that er A sits at 388. Bobby had an exciting home run derby here last year which preceded the All Star game and he gets it by Durant and that hits the side wall and Langford will throw to second and Bobby’s in there with a one out double, he gets underneath that, that ball would be going for days. You can’t throw him out either. There’s no way even a perfect throw wouldn’t have got it runner in scoring position right away for Michael Garcia and garcia chops it high to the left side, it bounces over Durant in left to base hit around third. Blakers throw home, quit slides in feet first safely. An RB I chopper from Michael garcia and the Royals grab a one nothing lead three batters into the ball game and low and behold a hit with a runner in scoring position. So one nothing Royals top of the first inning after Michael Garcia’s RB I single. He’s still at first base now with two outs for Salvador Perez and Salvi hits it high in the air to right field back to the wall Garcia and that one’s gone. Just what we’re talking about. Captain’s gonna heat up, believe it this first inning. The Royals are saying, hey, look , we’re going to get our guy some runs before he even toes the slab fastball, outer half went with it. Perfect timing and cap to you are right on time. Lugo knows what to do now. He has been one of the bad luck Royal starters and not getting a lot of run support this year. But man towing the slab with three runs. Now he’s got to feel really good. Harder is down on strikes with a change up just below his own. Langford now was one for four on Sunday, swung on and missed strike three. A high fastball gets Langford swinging back to back for lifted to right center field is glides to his left, makes the catch Seeger out on one pitch and the inning is over a 123 bottom of the first for set Lugo one out for a garcia dole hitting 227. 8 homers, 34 runs batted in chopper left side of the infield. That one flagged by Garcia not in time and a beats it out. And that was an interesting choice on the part of garcia if witt takes that, he probably able to get rid of it quicker. I agree. So the Rangers had their first baserunner Osuna, the hitter ding today and he is down on strikes and he is one for his last 20. That’s three strikeouts for Lugo Berger batting 226 on the season. Berger waves and misses and a slow curve strike three, four strikeouts for set Lugo through two scoreless innings getting the start at third base in tonight’s game. There’s a big swing and a miss and that’s a strikeout of Durant , that’s five strikeouts one time through the batting order for the Royals righty, go back to the top of their order and that’s Evan Carter. Here’s a pitch that comes in hits Evan that got him low on the leg. A cutter from Lugo. So Carter will take his base with Wyatt Langford coming up. Three and two runner goes a called strike three and that is number six for looking at first walk of the night issued by lighter and that puts an end to his streak of seven in a row. Retired. Salvy can’t do any better than he did the last time up, but he can do as well as the last time up. He hit a home run with a man on last time. Look at Vinny, what a jump and he immediately looks into the dugout first stolen base of the season. Way to get the goose egg off that column. Vinny Great jump. Now the righty deals and a swing and a shot toward the alley in left center that’s down for a hit in a roll to the fence. Vinny coming around third, he’ll Scoresby cruises into second with an RB I double. It’s a three RB I night for Salvador Perez. Two extra base hits already a homer and now a double. And Then he got a good read off the bat. He saw it was going to split the gap and so he didn’t have to wait very long to make a decision about heading to third base. And once that ball got down with his speed, he was scoring easily 40 KC. The batter drew Waters batting left handed, grounding it to the right side. Nice big hop for the first baseman Berger. He’ll flip to covering the bag to the pitcher for the that sends Salvi over to third base and now with two down, John Rave will be the batter and the pitch swung on and missed down goes Rave and the Royals they settle for one run on one hit and one left against Seth Lugo Royals lead four first pitch to Coy is bounded wely to first takes a high hop and over the head of basin turning first going to second is Corey Seager and he is in there with a bad hop. Double. That ball seemed to hit the lip of the turf where the turf and the dirt meet and the rangers get a totally lucky leadoff double here from Corey Seager two gone. Suna will be heading to the plate. Alejandro. The base hit here would be a big two out run flares out one out into center that drops base hit Seager around third. He will score Ouma hustling for second and he’s in there. The Rangers are on the scoreboard. It’s 4 to 1 and there’s a big two out RB I Osuna picking up his first hit of the month but he hit it right off the end of his bat out into right center now in the top of the fifth inning and that brings up Bobby Woo Junior left field sailing and gone. The Texas player, Junior, his first one in Globe Life field in front of friends and family. The hometown kid delivers a big swing 50 of them in the home run derby last year. This is one that counts his ninth home run of the season. Gives the Royals a 5 to 1 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Salvi’s already had a big night tonight. He’s driven in three of the Royals four runs hit a two run homer in the first inning and an RB I double in the fourth inning. This is his third A B and Salvi launches it to left field and gone for his second home run of the night. His third extra base hit of the night. His fourth RB I of the night and the Royals lead it 5 to 1 s using all fields tonight. His first homer one out to right center, that one was right down the left field line lighter just a little off tonight. His third time through the order , no doubt will be his last inning. Hoping to get is Bell and be done with yet another 32 offering and he missed down and in with the slider, really had no command on the slider here in the sixth inning and out of the first base dugout pops manager Bruce Bochy. So that will be all for Jack Lighter here today, Bosley making his 14th appearance of the season has pitched to a 470 a and a swing of the bat. He strikes out for a second time tonight. That’s the final out Seth. Lugo got a bouncy of run support tonight. Something that Royals pitchers have certainly not enjoyed very in recent times. Strikeout number three for Lugo against Langford really good location. So a couple of free bases, a hit batter with one out and now a walk right after the hit batter. And so Lugo putting himself into a little bit of danger here and the next pitch and a swing and a miss and make it eight strikeouts on the night as he takes care of Garcia for the second out of this sixth inning. Now the 2 to 2 and a swing and a miss and he strikes him out on a cutter and that is number nine. Yes, number nine on the night for Seth Lugo. So three strikeouts in the inning, he works around a hit batter and a walk and pitched. Well, last time out coming on Saturday, he went an inning and a third. Now the pitch and a swing and a miss and that’s a strike out of Burger. So B has his first Ks his first out and away with the slider. He strikes him out that ends the inning. Salvador Perez is three for three with four RBIs 12 and that strike three called. So Bosley can handle one away and Cag Leone is the hitter he’s grounded out foul out to the catcher and struck out looking the pitch swung on and missed beautiful change up and down goes Clione, he’s zero for four with two punch outs. Here’s the 10 delivery and that is lined and caught by Berger jumping at first base and that is a 123 inning for Caleb Bosley. He has faced seven batters and he has retired them all and there are two outs and Corey Seager coming up next, he has flied out, had a bat hop double and been hit by a pitch and Seeger swings and Rifles went into right center. It’s a base hit. Coy hangs on at first base. It brings up Simeon, he’s zero for two. He’s grounded out out and watch lined into left field for Simon keeps that hitting streak going. It’s nine games back to back singles in the eighth inning for the Rangers. Rangers looking for that second hit tonight with a runner in scoring position. Rangers had their best RB I man at the plate. 34 RB so far for Garcia and garcia is down on strikes. So Lynch hangs in there and has a scoreless bottom of the eighth. Great change up. Now the Rangers are down to their final out. Cruz delivers he swings and misses strike three fastball at 100 miles an hour from stephen Cruz and that finishes off an emphatic 6 to 1 win to open the road trip.

Seth Lugo tosses 6.0 strong, and Salvador Perez homers twice to make Royals history.
