🚨 Cowboys Rumors: Shavon Revel Injury SETBACK? Micah Parsons Deal + Sign CJ Mosley Or Raekwon Davis?
[Music] coming up on today’s Cowboys report we will get into the reports of the Savone Rebel setback and we’ll discuss some moves the Cowboys could make specifically on defense from a Bleacher Report article one of which I find very stupid but we’ll get into that here in a minute first we have taken the lead in the June sub battle against the 49ers report which is great i want to celebrate that there are still some other channels we’re lagging behind we’ll eventually catch up to them but let’s bury the 49ers you want more free Cowboys videos multiple times each day hit that sub button right now all right let’s get into Revel here albert Brer reporting that the quarterback had a quote unquote little bit of a setback with his knee injury before we dive into it I do want to lay out the full quote and the context from Albert Brerier because you know not everyone does that uh this was part of a conference with Conor or on a podcast about just like the Cowboys draft overall saying he’s really interesting it doesn’t always work out and I know it’s the easy thing to do to pluck the injured guy he had a little bit of a setback with his name i think we’ll be okay he would have been fighting to be the first quarterback taken if he hadn’t gotten hurt now before we all freak out over the uh Savone Rebel injury setback reports I have heard this was a pre-draft thing i’ve heard that actually from multiple different people here and I think that was a factor in why he fell to the third round in the first place when you know I think there was a bit of an expectation of him going into the second round he wasn’t the only player to have kind of unknown to the media injuries trey Amos had had some stuff going on too and this also kind of more aligned with his injury recovery timeline of how we’re not sure if he’s going to be good to go for training camp he tore his ACL back in September in most normal ACL recoveries you’re kind of around that bubble to return at this point and not kind of still working your way through your rehab and not getting cleared to to cut until you know just around the draft itself there the reality is there is always risk with drafting the guy coming off of a bad injury i do think it was 100% worth it in the third round some guys don’t ever recover properly i mean Michael Gallop has never been the same guy post injury and the first time Nick Chub came back didn’t matter at all he was good to go so there is risk involved here but this was a pre-draft injury setback that hasn’t been an issue as of late from what I’ve heard and we’ll see if he’s good to go in time for training camp which brings us to the pinned poll on today’s show but will Savone Rebel be ready for training camp why for yes N for no that’s day one sound off in the comments of today’s show i’m guessing we’re going to get around 50% maybe it’s 6040 because it’s June it’s always the optimist season here i don’t know i think there is a very solid chance the Cowboys just slow play it and they go you let’s not jeopardize 2026 2027 or even just like mistime the timing and have issues there that’s how most NFL teams handle it cuz once you’re activated you know you can’t go back to the pup IR list without having your season be over so if it’s even close teams normally do the let’s give them an extra week of ramp up time and put them on on the pup or or the NFI list which this being a college injury and then then bring him in after a week of camp like that could also very much be in play it’s also a factor in why I am concerned about this quarterback room i And not so much for like week 17 because by week 17 they should all be pretty good week one I’m worried you know how how are you gonna cover AJ Brown Devontto Smith you know Don Bland can take one of them i don’t think Trayvon Diggs is going to be ready even if Savone Rebel is fully healthy that’s a rookie corner against one of the best ders in the NFL that that concerns me a little bit is Ky Elim ready what if there’s another injury knock on with it that does not happen we’re leaning on Caleb Carson and Izzy Mwamu and Andrew Booth and that’s why I do anticipate the Cowboys want to see how the first two weeks 3 weeks of training camp go and then you know late July early August they they could look for a more veteran option if they don’t like the way the young guys are progressing now speaking of training camp Cowboys camp gear is available hats t-shirts variety of hoodies including they also got visors too and bucket hats which I find quite important if you’re in the California sun chatsports.com/cowboys camp or if you’re just cutting the grass that’s what I do i wear the bucket hat when I cut the grass so I don’t burn my face and have bright red splotches when I’m on air links in the comments section and the description of today’s show it’s chatsports.com/cowboysamp let’s go to what Bleach Report did they kind of laid out their three more moves things to do moves to make uh to finish out the off season before training camp gets going here first up for the Cowboys was prepare to install the new defense which like duh as opposed to what you’re not going to install it how is that even on the list this is like step one of getting up in the morning breathe that’s assumed like ho how is that on there like let’s do something that’s actually intriguing and not like we’re going to install the defense you actually should already be installing it should be installed for the most part what are we doing out here just honestly I think it’s lazy like you want to talk about Eblu so we just install the new defense come on guys like what are you going to do not install it come on next up was extend Mega Parsons which is the correct answer by the way it’s it’s the obvious it’s the It’s the you know free square of your offseason card which somehow has not been filled in yet but yes this is one you should do here’s what Bleacher report wrote with $32.5 million in salary cap space the Cowboys should get the ball rolling on a deal to make Parson’s league’s highest paid defender otherwise they could try to fetch a massive return by placing him on the trade market which they’re not going to by the way because if you were going to do it you kind of missed your window in the first place you’re not going to get the same level of of return there i’m going to come back to like the the crux of the argument is owe you of cap space but before we get into that the reality is he’s going to become the highest paid nonQB would you do that one for yes two for no i I want to emphasize this because I don’t know if I’ve even done a good enough job of it as a reminder if you pay Micah Parsons you actually create salary cap space like you actually generate more room to do more things down the line this is how things currently shake out for Micah Parsons his 2025 cap rounded here is $24 million now the franchise tag in 2026 for defensive ends is actually less than 28.8 however Micah would actually automatically jump to the 120% figure because that’s how the franchise tag works so it’d be around 28.8 million a second potential franchise tag would be 34.57 now if you want to pay Micah let’s assume which it may not be accurate but it’s a nice easy round figure here that Micah matches the nonQB signing bonus record that was $50 million signed by Nick Bosa actually a couple years ago so let’s assume Micah Parsons matches that that’s not going to maximize your year one savings but it just makes it easy to roughly project out the extension cap hits if you do that signing bonus make him the highest paid non-QB in the NFL the deal looks a little bit similar with some extra backloaded figures to what the Nick Bosa deal ended up being and you’re looking at and these are all rough rounding estimates plus or minus a few million the point remains the same though 121722 that is a massive savings that’s almost cutting the number in half it cuts the year one number in half you save about $10 million in year two and you save about $10 million in year three so that’s just the capit number so you’re still paying him more in cash but by paying Micah Parsons short-term and long-term which we should use three-year windows that’s how the NFL operates your roster changes over so much in that time frame you saved a massive amount of money that is why you do this you’re not actually paying him nearly as much in the cap and I can go do more things in the offseasons all right next up here is find help for the run defense which I actually do appreciate of like an actual move to make here two players were mentioned on this one it was CJ Mosley the linebacker and Rayquin Davis the defensive tackle we’ll go more in depth on both of those guys but name a player who you want to sign let me know in the comments section of today’s show let’s hit Mosley to begin here and if you get injuries like okay you can revisit this mosley was a pretty solid player i do think you had probably seen some semblance of drop off in his play from his time with the Ravens to the Jets and missing a ton of time last year i don’t know if you need a linebacker right now like I think this Cowboys team is pretty committed to Kenneth Murray and Jack Sanborn and you know seeing if Maurice Leafoul can can take a jump forward a step forward um I don’t know if linebacker really stands out as an area the Cowboys need to acquire more help i do think defensive tackle is one of those spots and Rayquin Davis is highly intriguing to me actually most of his career went with the Miami Dolphins got I would argue kind of like a weirdly large contract it was it was a two-year $14 million deal with the Colts and then he like wasn’t actually all that great in fact his numbers have mostly declined over the past couple seasons but he has big size you he’s 67 like 320 something like that you don’t have a guy who’s built like Rayquin Davis is i actually in a market that’s just not good along the defensive line this is like one of the very few appealing options to me even though I I think he’s kind of a bit of a jag but if you don’t trust Jay Towi Justin Rogers like I I would strongly consider DT and and a Rayquin Davis type if you can’t find a trade partner a good option there he did just turn 28 but you know one year three million to help out your DT room i’m not I’m not opposed to that at all [Music]

Albert Breer reports CB Shavon Revel had a “little bit of a setback” with his knee injury: “He’s really interesting. It doesn’t always work out, I know it’s the easy thing to do, to pluck the injured guy. He had a little bit of a setback with his knee. I think he’ll be okay. He would have been fighting to be the first CB taken if he hadn’t gotten hurt.”
Cowboys news on Shavon Revel from host Tom Downey: The “setback” that Revel had, which I still don’t have details on, was a pre-draft setback. And that helped him fall to the 3rd round instead of going Top 40 or 50.
Bleacher Report laid out their 3 moves each NFL team needs to make to finish the offseason. These were the 3 for the Cowboys:
– Prepare to Install New Defense
– Extend Micah Parsons
– Find Help for Run Defense

Will Shavon Revel be ready for training camp? Type ‘Y’ for Yes, ‘N’ for No
Both of the guys you just mentioned would help immensely.

Y
N
Y.
2.
Jaylon Ramsey
N
Sign Jaire Alexander
Yall are overreacting. He’s a ROOKIE. Their is ZERO pressure on him to comeback and be an immediate impact.
I would trade him for draft picks!
Bland over diggs 😂😂😂
Desmond Watson.
Y
Man people need to chill. We will be ok with Diggs, Bland, and whoever wins the third spot with Muakamu/Elam. Elam has actually had a REALLY good camp, and Izzy has played well when given chances.

I had no issues with drafting Revel in the 3rd round and having him basically take his time in recovery this season. This screams to why the Cowboys should just re-sign CB Stephon Gilmore and slot CB Mike Hilton. I would have also signed DT Raekwon Davis as well.
Yes
The Joneses love to draft injured players coming out of college I don't know why! I'm not saying this kid isn't good but history says it about the Joneses drafting techniques.
The cowboys need to sign another veteran defensive player. CB and DT would best.

Another injured cowboys player what else is new
So was there a setback or not tf. lol injury occurred during college. After that there was a timeframe of coming back. Has that time frame moved???
I'm so happy Gilly still ain't signed
Why do Dallas always draft hurt players..
Trade parsons for picks
I would pay Micah all day Long. A generational player.
If the Cowboy's can neutralize the
run game against Philly.
I like their chances against the passing game.
Cowboys boys still have 2 needs on defensive a cover safety (Justin Simmons) a run stopping 1 tech in a trade plus get back Gilmore for insurance.
Yeah Unfortunately (CB/Jaire Alexander to Sign with The(Ravens_1-year Deal $6-Million) but Good luck with Him/ but We Should make Another move For a(Veteran CB Jalen Ramsey or???????????)
This is why the Cowboys shouod be looking for another CB whether its by trade or free agency because of this right here with Revel and Diggs. Why wont fans just listen to what I have to say instead of being delusional?!
Go Cowboys
Y 🙏🏼
Always drafting Injuryed guys
