Serie A side Juventus are reportedly still interested in signing Ronald Araujo from Barcelona this summer.

Juventus tried to land Araujo in January but ultimately failed to bring in the defender and saw him pen a contract extension at the club instead.

According to Sport reporter Hugo Scoccia, the Turin giants remain interested and “believe he’s the center-back they need” this summer.

Scoccia adds that Juventus will make an offer that appeals to both “player and the club” and claims this is the deal that “could unlock the Nico Williams” transfer.

Barcelona are thought to be trying to sign Williams from Athletic Club but need to offload players to make room on the wage bill.

Araujo’s departure could certainly pave the way for Williams to be incorporated, although it’s been previously reported that both Deco and Hansi Flick want him to stay.

To make things more interesting, Araujo’s release clause is said to drop to around €65 million at the start of July, which is likely to get the rumor mill very excited indeed.
