Dallas Cowboys’ Top Draft Pick SUFFERS INJURY SETBACK?!

all right It’s one of three things that’s going to be at play here Either everybody’s bored and they need something better to do with their time People trying to get a paycheck and they trying to keep paying these bills during off season or the Cowboys may seriously need to consider calling Jer Alexander or one of these other quarterbacks that may be available because they are going to have to think about giving their quarterbacks proper time to get healthy and get healthy the right way If rumors and just reports random reports that sprouted out of nowhere in heave of the night just rumors man they just started popping out of nowhere about Cowboys third round pick rookie cornerback Savone Revel Let’s get right into it and be sure to subscribe for more Dallas Cowboys content [Music] Man shut your up man This do-rag cut my damn circulation off All right we’re going to make it through it So we’re going to take a listen to this clip right here by Albert Greer and he’s talking about how Savone Rebel has apparently suffered a setback a little setback with his knee a little bit of a setback with his knee at some point in time I want to take a listen to this We have better a better idea of the context of of what this what these guys are talking about here I mean the draft itself was one of my favorites I really like their draft I I hate I think has a chance to be a real player I think Tyler Booker brings like a nastiness and an edge to their offensive line that they were going to need with like losing Zack Martin you know i I think like Will Mcclelay and their scouting department doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the job they’ve done because that’s the thing is like that’s the thing with the Cowboys is like you look over the years it’s like when is talent ever really the issue you know like they have some teams that are more talented than others you know but when has it ever been like it’s been 20 years since said like they just don’t have the horses that’s never it never seems like that’s the problem Revel I think is going to be a beast Like he he agreed I absolutely agree I think Savone Revel when he does get back on that field I think that he is just tailor made the way he plays the game how he plays game what his fit is going to be in this defense and how Matt Iluse is going to utilize him in this defense I think Savone Revel is going to be a monster when he finally comes back and he’s himself Whether that’s this year or next year I think we have to keep that in mind that it is possible that Savone Rebel isn’t him fully himself again until next season because we got to give these guys the leway still Even if he’s a young guy we still got to give him the traditional one season feel your body out get yourself back right The next season you come back um you trust your body a little bit more and you’re able to really perform the way you should be able to depending on the type of player you are Who who knows maybe he he’s Superman or something He’s able to come back and be himself from day one Uh but I think that we won’t really see Savone Revel and the the foundation that he will start as far as his ascent up that ladder of being a cornerback in the NFL I don’t think we’ll see that Savone Revel until year two And I think that’s just being fair to the guy and not trying to heap unnecessary expectations on him because we should not be looking at him as the guy to save the Cowboys secondary this season in a season where we’re already missing digs in a season where Don Bland while we we hope he can stay healthy we we kind of just got we kind of just got squared a little bit last season got a little bit of PTSD right now I ain’t going to lie I PTSD with Don Bland right now So I’m not all the way confident he gonna stay healthy You know what I’m saying so we can’t just heap all our expectations on one guy but let let’s listen cuz they ain’t said nothing crazy yet Is really interesting Really really interesting Now it doesn’t always work out I know it’s the easy thing to do to sometimes pluck the injured guy who um and he had like a little bit of a setback I think with his knee but I think he’ll be okay Um but yeah he would have been I mean fighting to be the first corner taken if you know he had if he hadn’t gotten hurt Yeah exactly And and and I think that that felt like a throwaway comment And and the thing that’s surprising me is this this this story is picking up traction It’s not even just from this I don’t know if these media outlets just kind of take these little tidbits that they hear man and they kind of populate it everywhere and turn it into something bigger than what it is All right Now so we got that We got that little tidbit Now we have to ask the question this little bit of a setback Why would he just throw that in there why would he say that starts rubbing his ear a little bit when he did start talking about that part of it That’s a body language tick that’s kind of telling of of of a little bit of uncomfortableness Um I kind of you’re holding back with something Whether that be a little bit of deception I’m not sure But uh I’m not really sure why that why that throwaway comment was was was put in there because quite frankly it was it was unnecessary Uh but if we go and and kind of put some breadcrumbs together this was interesting This was from June 8th right here And this was Mike Fischer Um a guy that a lot of people hold in high regard here in the Cowboy community as it pertains to his reporting on the Cowboys Um he said he had a chance to bump into the Cowboys rookie quarterback Savone Rebel He said he stand next to him and he seems one donut shy of being defensive end size He didn’t say linebacker size he said defensive end size Now Savon Rebel is a taller guy longer lanky guy longer extremities so it’s going to he’s going to look like he has these huge arms and stuff Um but that was very interesting verbiage and it kind of just made me it kind of made me scratch my chin a little bit and be like what do you mean one donut shy of being defensive in size and is this a compliment um is this It’s kind of hard to tell because as a corner you don’t really want your cornerbacks being overly heavy Now is he heavy because he had to slow down on some of his recovery on some of his training because all we seen him do during the Cowboys offseason period was some resistant cord training But here he doesn’t look doesn’t look big at all You know what I’m saying as long as he has his speed still I think he’ll be fine But if he is a little bit heavier still maybe that is indicative of him not being able to uh really put a lot of stress on that leg still at this point in his recovery right maybe he can’t do a lot of cardio a lot of stuff that would allow him to shred some of that that that surgery weight shred some of that excess weight Maybe he can’t do some of that stuff Um and he’s he’s not able to get into playing shape just yet So he’s a little bit heavier right now So I thought that was a interesting comment to kind of put together with the all of a sudden we’re hearing about all of a sudden out the clear blue June June 17th Um we’re hearing about Savone Rebel and him having a little s a little bit of a setback on his injury And this this this is what I’ll say man We’re at the part in the offseason where we’re going to start seeing all kind of stuff pop out And we’re going to cover it because quite frankly I got bills to pay too man I got kid and wife and family feed here All right So I got I got to stay active in this mug too man And I I enjoy actually doing this for y’all right i actually I really I legitimately enjoy doing this But we’re going to cover all this but we have to make sure that we’re very diligent in separating what has some actual meat to it what doesn’t We can’t get overly excited overly dramatic about every little bitty piece of information that comes out We got to do a little bit more leg work We’re going to do a little bit more waiting to see if any more information comes out about this situation before we start jumping to any conclusions start talking about oh we need to sign this guy Oh we need to go and do this Oh we have to go and do this because any and every move the Cowboys make is going to impact their ability to make another move And we can’t make moves out of a panic or for no reason want to make moves out of a panic or for no reason as fans right so we got to wait get more information see if there’s anything to this I’m sure now that this is starting to float around some of our beat reporters will get out They’ll ask Savone Rebel guys like Nick Harris John Macho some of these other guys they’ll get out ask Savone Rebel hey did you have have you have you suffered a setback in your injury at any point when they do get a chance to get around these guys again at training camp or if they bump into him at some type of event or something who knows but maybe we’ll hear from him maybe we won’t But I I don’t think this is anything to be concerned about But again the guy he’s a young guy Um and as long as we don’t hear anything from official sources as it pertains to his injury and anything going sideways or south then I don’t think there’s any cause for alarm I I am not about to sit here and get panicked out over Albert Brer saying this when none of our local beat reporters have said anything of the sort And I think they would have picked up something to the to to this degree at some point Regardless how you feel about any of these guys one of these beat reporters would have picked them Somebody a James Slater a Clarence Hill a Calvin Walkers a Nick Harris a John any of these guys Somebody would have picked a Todd Archer ESPN Somebody would have picked this up I mean we wouldn’t just be hearing about it on a throwaway comment out the clear blue This is my first time hearing about any type of setback with Savone Rebels so I thought it was it
